Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead-Chapter 390 - 214: Temporary Administrator’s Perspective (Part 3)
The aura of the plane that is currently ascending felt very familiar to him. When he gazed upon that plane, the plane sensed his gaze and issued an invitation to him.
Following the invitation, he could accurately pinpoint the location of that plane. If he wanted, with the help of a designated item’s use, he could descend directly to that plane by following the middle layer.
As he communicated with the plane, the power of reincarnation within him was exceptionally active.
If he sensed correctly, that ascending plane was the first plane he entered in the Abyssal Game, the same plane where he obtained the reincarnation item, the Moonlight Sanatorium.
He had already broken through the Moonlight Sanatorium, and yet the plane where the dungeon was located was still able to ascend. Could it be that the Peace Church in the dungeon plane caused an even greater disturbance elsewhere?
This guess suddenly made him feel anticipation. He wondered if he could find other parts of Leman, other than the left eye, this time.
While his consciousness was still focused on the Moonlight Sanatorium plane, a sudden "pop" sound reached his ear, as if a bubble had been punctured.
By following the sound, he saw a dungeon halfway through its ascension, whose barrier had suddenly broken apart.
Without the protection of the plane’s barrier, a large amount of energy from the middle layer poured into the dungeon plane, causing it to dissipate easily like a shattered soap bubble.
One must understand, it was not merely a soap bubble, but a dungeon plane with tens of thousands of local inhabitants.
It was a real world.
Wu Chang watched the plane dissipate like a soap bubble, and a nameless dread arose in his heart.
If he were dragged into that dissipating plane, one moment his world would be thriving, advancing rapidly, with new magical or technological creations leading the whole world toward a higher civilization.
The next moment, the entire world would utterly collapse, with people unaware of what was happening, reduced to nothingness under the surge of energy from the middle layer.
Even though he knew long ago that the Abyss was not a benevolent place, witnessing the Abyss easily erase a plane firsthand still brought him tremendous shock.
At that moment, he couldn’t help but wonder if those players among the Four Major Organizations, with temporary management permissions for the Desolate Realm, usually witnessed such scenarios?
The level at which one sees, determines their cognitive understanding of the world.
If those top players with special permissions observe the Abyss and the world from such a perspective, are their decisions beyond ordinary players’ comprehension?
His inspiration began to stir, and in the depths of his mind, he felt an inexplicable unease.
The world seemed to be progressing in an unfavorable direction.
Just as he was about to end this observation and return his consciousness to the Underground Shelter, he sensed a massive energy cluster in the central area of the middle layer.
The energy contained within the massive energy cluster was more than all the combined energy from the four or five ascending planes, and this energy cluster was continuing to grow, filling the entire middle layer.
The moment he observed that energy cluster, his temporary management permissions informed him that the energy cluster taking form was called the World Dungeon.
Wu Chang swallowed hard; the troubles awaiting him in the future seemed far greater than he had anticipated.
Meanwhile, in a conference room, a group of players dressed in various attires was holding a meeting.
Sitting at the far side of the conference table, with a thin yet agile physique and wearing the Great Red Kasaya, Joy had his eyes closed, fiddling with the prayer beads in his hand.
Two seats away from Joy, dressed in a full-body suit looking akin to an insurance salesman, Mercury was reporting something.
Midway through his report, Mercury’s expression changed dramatically, halting his report and looking glumly down at the table.
Mercury held a significant position in the meeting, and although others were curious about what had happened, they dared not ask since Mercury remained silent, only collectively turning their gaze toward Joy, seated at the head of the table.
Joy slowly opened his eyes and asked, "What happened?"
Mercury, nervously, replied, "There was a minor issue with the Pillar of the Present World I created earlier."
Joy’s face showed confusion; Mercury’s power was most suitable for creating the Pillar of the Present World, known for being stable and reliable. How could there be an issue?
"Is the problem severe?"
Mercury shook his head and said, "Just a minor slip, I’m trying to remedy it."
No sooner had Mercury spoken than everyone saw Mercury’s nose collapse inward, his high nose bridge oddly shattered, and the next moment, nosebleed poured out, splattering across the conference table.
Everyone’s expressions showed disbelief.
How could Mercury be injured remotely by a player who had entered the Pillar of the Present World?
