Becoming a Monster-Chapter 280: Brothers’ Wraith
Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Brothers’ Wraith
Everyone was oblivious to Noah’s arrival and none of them could even afford to pay attention to anything else, not when the two Kaiju zombies participated in the fight.
The other zombies were already enough to handle. Because as the other zombies were being put down they soon realized that there were more unique zombies than they initially believed. The pressure on the humans was too much to handle.
"If you have any mana potions, make sure that Isabelle’s reserves don’t run out! We need her ability the most if all of us will get through this!" Mark shouted, his words directed more so to the people outside of his inner group that gathered under his banner.
No one thought twice to argue. Those who were infected and believed their life was over were fully healed of their infection due to Isabelle’s purifying aura. Everyone barely had any resources to give, but the few that did were quick to hand over what they could.
Meanwhile, as Mark was focusing on supporting everyone, he had to make a dangerous decision, cutting off his support to address an enemy that was constantly alerting his danger radar.
His focus was always on the small Kaiju, not just because he believed it was the most dangerous creature there, but because the Kaiju’s constant stares made him understand that he was the creature’s target.
Boom!
Dust clouded Mark’s location, the ground around them fissured under an unexpected force. The dust cloud was disbursed not even a second later due to Mark’s powerful aura, and it was there that he was interlocked with the Kaju.
The Kaiju’s hands were intercepted by Mark’s fiery glowing sword, a glow that allowed him to cut though almost any material and burn through creatures created from unholy energy. Yet, the blade was only able to dig less than a inch inside the Kaiju’s palms’, and the flames of bluish golden energy only managed to elicit a puff of transparent smoke that had no noticeable effect to its body.
Mark gritted his teeth. He knew the creature was powerful, but he realized that the most dangerous trait about this creature wasn’t its monstrous physique, but its cunning.
Blood leaked from Mark’s gritted teeth. He was able to keep up with its ambush, but he couldn’t keep with the tail that was firmly impaled into his side.
"Mark!" Jas was quick in her support. Vast amount of nearby vines stretched towards the Kaiju while endless small roots came out from cracks underneath the broken pavement. The roots that attempted to be stabbed through its scales were useless. It was the roots and vines that were trying to coil around its body that forced it to retreat.
"Jas! You can’t fight that thing, help everyone else!" Mark vehemently shouted. His aura flared, his body growing stronger by the second. And as long as he fought within Isabelle’s field, his leg was already healing at a visible rate alongside his own enhanced self healing.
Its body disappeared again. To almost everyone there, the creature seemingly continued to vanish at will. But there were still few who could keep up with its speed.
The Kaiju was already behind Jasmine, its jaws closing onto the back of her head that would kill her instantly.
But before its teeth could sink in.
Clang!
A flash of steel came slicking into the front side of its neck that was determined to behead it.
The Kaiju’s entire head snapped backwards, its neck bending in an angle that would normally decapitate any normal being, blood trailing down its neck. Its head stayed in that awkward position for a moment, its eyes shooting open towards the attacker.
Its body vanished again, but in the middle of its disappearance, its "teleportation" was intercepted by another blade, forcing it to brace itself.
Three quick succession of attacks cut at the creature’s scales before the Kaiju sharply twisted its body around to send its tail whipping towards the attacker.
Ishii, whose stats now nearly rivaled the Kaiju own after absorbing the strength of his fallen opponents, reacted swiftly. Instead of meeting the tail’s force head-on, he shifted back just enough to use its momentum against itself, absorbing the impact.
He barely had time to reset his stance before the Kaiju lunged again, its claws approaching at different angles.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Each attack was met with a deflection that used the perfect amount of force, but Ishii felt the raw power behind every strike.
His body momentarily stopped, giving the Kaiju the opportunity to skewer through him. However, when given the opportunity, the Kaiju attacked behind itself, and it was there that Ishii emerged again. The brief afterimage Ishii left behind was deemed useless under the creature’s heightened perception.
Ishii should be able to confront the creature alone if he was able to drain the creature’s strengths to enhance his own. But something about Ishii was....off....
His body was slightly redder than usual, vein bulging underneath his skin, threatening to explode. His breaths were a little heavier than usual, each breath caused an exaggerated heave from his chest.
This was the true downfall of his ability that appeared to have no faults. His skill only allowed him to retain over 300% of the stolen attributes of his base stats. So if his strength was only 100, then he can drain the stats of creatures until his strength reaches 300. Unless his base stats were higher or he upgraded his skill, his upper limit couldn’t increase.
For now he could only delay until the expiration of the stats he had stolen was up so he can reactivate his ability on the Kaiju.
Only a minute was left, but against the creature whose attacks were relentless, a minute became seconds constantly weaving through life and death.
But Mark wouldn’t allow Ishii to fight a creature of such abnormality on his own. As Ishii was defending himself, a large blade of holy energy slashed towards the creature’s side.
The attack was strong, and yet it hit the creature without creating an explosion, enveloping the Kaiju entirely.
A shriek sounded loudly, one of both pain, and rage.
When the energy subsided, the Kaju’s once almost prestined white scales were now stained in black scorched marks.
No one could immediately gauge the damage inflicted on the creature. Just as Mark and Ishii prepared to press the attack, a devastating roar shook the ground beneath them, forcing them to freeze for a split second.
The giant Kaiju couldn’t remain idle after hearing its brother’s cries. Though both were zombies, their bond as brothers was one of the few instincts that still lingered.
Mid-roar, a colossal shield radiating a brilliant light, bright as a miniature sun, smashed into its face. The attack was meant to both stun and blind the creature, setting it up for the next strike: a massive spear, aiming to pierce through its skull.
Few could stand against such a being. The responsibility of holding it off fell to Raven, who had entered her Titan form for the first time.
But she wasn’t alone.
Five other women, their bodies bathed in a golden sheen, stood nearly as tall as Raven. Each wielded a massive weapon, their armaments as diverse as their fighting styles, one brandished a dazzling two-handed claymore, another a towering halberd, while the rest bore a colossal warhammer, a pair of ornate short swords, and a golden whip.
With the amazons attributes nearly being doubled while Raven’s own stats were improved by 150% after upgrading her ability, the six towering women were evenly standing toe to toe with the monster.

The spear was proceeding to hit its mark, the attack held a high chance in completely shifting the battle.
But as the creature roared, but it and the smaller Kaiju’s bodies took on a frightening transition. Their aura’s exploded, almost as if the forms they were previously shown were not their true forms.
Cracks branched out through their scaling and rocked plated figures. These cracks were illuminated with crimson energy that was full of malice. The cracks gave the impression of their bodies opening, transitioning their entire bodies into something more. The smaller Kaiju’s claws grew longer while energy flowed through them, its tail became segmented, extending nearly twice as long as it was before. And its teeth now were glowing just as dangerous as its claws.
Meanwhile, its brother transformed from an immovable rock into an immeasurable mountain. Every inch of its body expanded, branching into jagged, stalagmitic points, each as unyielding as they were deadly.
The spear was almost upon its face, but instead of moving out of the way, the giant Kaju merely turned its head, allowing the spear to enter into its jaws that clamped tightly onto the bladed end.
Snap!
Raven’s eyes widened in shock, and... fear.
A weapon she had believed to be divine was now being destroyed. No... eaten. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
She barely had time to react before she heard that horrifying crunch again, this time even louder.
An Amazon warrior, wielding a massive warhammer, charged recklessly forward, determined to stop the Kaiju from devouring their leader’s weapon.
"Noooo!" Raven cried out.
But before the warrior could land her strike, the giant Kaiju swung its colossal arm toward her. She tried to brace for impact, only to realize, too late, that its limbs were no longer just flesh and stone. Jagged stalagmites of death jutted from its massive arm.
And before she even understood the fate that awaited her
She was already skewered.
