Being Dumped by My EX, I Marriied His Older Brother-Chapter 124: Thanks to You
Seeing her sit perfectly still, Justin Kane wasn’t annoyed.
He shifted his body over, pressing close against her.
She defiantly scooted away toward the car door, clearly not wanting him near.
Now, Justin Kane was certain. She was angry.
Justin Kane’s dark eyes betrayed no emotion. "You went upstairs with Jason Graham just to spite me?"
He still hadn’t explained why he’d indulged April Graham.
’And yet here he is, grilling me about why I went upstairs.’
Nina Thorne shot him a cool glance and sneered, "Mr. Kane gets to reminisce with his sweetheart, but he has the nerve to suspect me?"
’Sweetheart?’
Justin Kane’s thick brows furrowed slightly. "I told you, April Graham is not my sweetheart."
"If she’s not, then why were you so accommodating to her every whim?" Nina Thorne pressed, refusing to back down.
Justin Kane’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice strained. "I said I’d explain when we got back..."
’That line again.’
Nina Thorne was sick of hearing it. Her tone was cold. "Don’t bother. It’s not like I’m dying to hear it."
"I’m starting to think this engagement banquet is unnecessary."
Nina Thorne’s expression was calm and detached, her voice sounding cold and heartless, as if her mind was made up.
Justin Kane’s throat tightened.
’First she brings up divorce, and now she wants to call off the public announcement.’
The car drove out of the estate.
Justin Kane’s chest felt tight with frustration. He leaned forward, cupped her face by the jaw with one large hand, and pressed his lips forcefully against hers.
This kiss was incredibly aggressive, completely different from all his previous gentle ones.
It was as if he wanted to devour her every breath—punishing and demanding. His tongue plunged deep, leaving Nina Thorne almost no chance to escape.
He trapped her between the car seat and his chest.
"Let go..."
Nina Thorne pushed him away with all her might, furious. "I’m not a doll you can just play with however you please."
Justin Kane’s face was dark, and rage ignited in his chest.
"So you had to prove to me that you have other men without me?"
"Is that why you went for Jason Graham?"
Before Nina Thorne could speak, he lunged in for another kiss.
He kissed her with a wild force, radiating extreme possessiveness.
This was a far cry from his usual gentle demeanor.
Instead, he was just like the rumors described him: forceful, sharp, with a venomous tongue and an overbearing attitude.
This time, no matter how hard Nina Thorne pushed, his tall frame was like a mountain, unmoving.
She could only let him plunder the air from her lungs.
The black luxury car slowly pulled away from the Graham Family estate, disappearing into the darkness like a black panther.
No one noticed Cole Kane and Serena Kane, who had been barred from entering the Graham estate, staring blankly as the black car passed by.
In the light from the entrance, they caught a glimpse of the intense scene inside the car.
"Did you see that?"
Cole Kane turned his head to ask Serena Kane, "Was that our older brother?"
Serena Kane nodded. "I saw. It was definitely him."
Cole Kane’s brow furrowed uncomfortably. "And the woman? Did you see her?"
In truth, Serena Kane hadn’t seen her.
As the car passed, she had only seen Justin Kane’s silhouette by the window. The woman pinned beneath him was completely obscured, her face impossible to make out.
But even though she hadn’t seen, she said she had.
"It was Nina Thorne..."
As expected, Cole Kane’s face turned ugly and grim. "Impossible. It was too dark, there’s no way to tell who it was."
Any adult could guess what Justin Kane had been doing in the car.
What he hadn’t expected was that his older brother was actually here.
That’s why he’d been so surprised that he hadn’t gotten a good look at the woman in his arms, only judging by her dress that it was a woman.
"Second Brother, after how Nina Thorne schemed against you last time, it’s obvious she stopped loving you long ago. How long are you going to keep deceiving yourself?"
Serena Kane’s words were like knives.
"Shut your mouth!"
Cole Kane gritted his teeth, glaring at her angrily. "This is all your fault! If it weren’t for you, Nina Thorne and I would never have broken up!"
Serena Kane couldn’t refute what had happened three years ago.
She looked at him with a wronged expression, her eyes welling with tears. "It’s true I was immature and made a mistake back then, but I know I was wrong now, and I’ve already been punished for it."
"Second Brother, why must you keep holding it against me and refuse to forgive me? My innocence has already..."
Serena Kane lowered her head and sobbed, her shoulders shaking pitiably.
Even though she didn’t finish the sentence, it was clear what she was implying.
Cole Kane’s brow tightened in annoyance. He snapped in a low voice, "What are you crying for! What happened that night was an accident, and what’s more, you brought it on yourself."
Serena Kane lifted her tear-streaked face and said emotionally, "But it’s a fact that I love you, Second Brother. Just because I’m your adopted sister, does that mean I don’t even have the right to love you?"
"If that’s the case, I’ve already been kicked out of the Kane Family, so that should be fine, right?"
Hearing this, Cole Kane stumbled back two steps, angrily grinding his back teeth. "You know perfectly well what happened that night."
"Serena Kane, you’d better get out of my sight before I really lose my temper!"
With that, he strode toward the car parked by the wall.
He had rushed over tonight after learning it was Master Graham’s 80th birthday, only to be turned away at the door for not having an invitation.
To think that he, the second young master of the Kane Family, was once an indispensable guest at such banquets.
Ever since his position as president of the branch company was revoked, he had been repeatedly ignored, his pride dragged through the mud.
He couldn’t accept it.
He had been trying to negotiate with the Grahams, hoping they would do him the courtesy of letting him in so he could discuss his plans.
And then Serena Kane had suddenly appeared.
Pleading with him one moment, playing the victim the next.
The fireworks lighting up the sky were so dazzling, but when they illuminated Serena Kane’s pretty, delicate face, they only reminded him of that disgraceful night.
They hadn’t been arguing for long when they saw Justin Kane’s car leaving.
Even though he hadn’t seen her face clearly, the identity of the woman in the car still made him uneasy.
"Second Brother, I’m already yours. I want to go with you," Serena Kane called out delicately as she ran to the side of the car.
The automatic door slid open.
Cole Kane had one foot inside when he violently shook off her hand.
"Don’t bring that up again. I’m not that patient."
Cole Kane glared at her with a warning before getting into the car swiftly.
"No, Second Brother... We already did... that."
The car started to move. Serena Kane pounded on the door, crying out to the person inside, "Second Brother, don’t do this to me! You used to dote on me so much..."
Hearing her words, Cole Kane’s face grew even darker and uglier. Unmoved, he told the driver to step on the gas and leave.
"Second Brother, Second Brother!"
"Second Brother, don’t leave me behind..."
Seeing the car pick up speed, Serena Kane started running after it.
But the suddenly accelerating car clipped her, sending her sprawling to the ground. The skin on her palms was scraped raw, and a stinging pain shot through her entire body.
Yet she seemed to feel no pain. Large teardrops rolled down her face as hatred sprouted and grew wildly like vines.
She hated them!
She hated them so much!
Whether it was Nina Thorne or Justin Kane, she hated them all!
Suddenly, a pair of black leather shoes appeared in her line of sight.
She slowly looked up, and was startled when she saw who it was.
She quickly scrambled up from the ground and stood straight, looking at the person before her.
-
Nina Thorne’s phone was ringing incessantly.
But Justin Kane gave her no chance to answer it. The moment they were out of the car, he swept her up and carried her back to their hotel room.
The door to the room had barely closed...
...when a moment later, Cole Kane appeared at the door, pounding on it frantically.
"Why aren’t you answering your phone! Nina Thorne, come out!"
"I have something to ask you! Come out!"
Cole Kane’s body was trembling uncontrollably. He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to stand steady, but his knocking grew more and more impatient with each blow.
"Were you at the Graham Family’s banquet tonight? Who’s in your room? Nina Thorne, come out! Come out right now and explain yourself!"
Cole Kane’s voice was clearly angry, yet it was filled with pleading.
Staring at the closed hotel room door, waves of panic washed over him, and his body trembled ceaselessly.
It was as if the people inside were doing something he couldn’t bear.
The memory of seeing Justin Kane on top of a woman outside the Graham estate, in particular, filled him with anxiety, panic, and even rage.
’How could Nina Thorne do this?’
’How dare she?’
But Nina Thorne was just as furious as he was. She glared at Justin Kane, who was pinning her down, as Cole Kane’s demanding shouts from outside filled her ears.
"You two brothers. One is worse than the other."
Nina Thorne glared at him, her lips swollen from his kisses, her hair slightly disheveled with a stray strand falling across her eyes.
The soft light fell on her, making her bright, beautiful face look even more radiant and alluring.
Especially with the flush on her cheeks and at the corners of her eyes, and those kiss-swollen lips, she exuded an inexplicable, overwhelming sensuality.
Justin Kane braced his hands on either side of her, his voice a low, husky drawl. "You went to another man’s room, and you have the gall to say *I’m* the one going too far?"
Nina Thorne’s chest heaved with anger. "But you were with another woman..."
The words tumbled out.
But once they were on the tip of her tongue, she suddenly didn’t know how to finish.
Her mind raced, and she retorted angrily, "You and April Graham aren’t exactly innocent, either. Before you accuse others, you should think about what you’ve done yourself."
"Oh? And what have I done?"
Justin Kane stared into her eyes, his voice low as he pressed for an answer.
Just then, Nina Thorne’s phone rang.
It was a call from Macy Lynch.
Nina Thorne had just reached for the phone to answer it when Justin Kane snatched it away.
"Give it back."
Nina Thorne looked nervous.
Justin Kane glanced at the name on the screen, then straightened up thoughtfully.
By the time Nina Thorne realized what he was about to do, it was too late.
His long fingers swiped lightly across the screen, and the call connected.
Macy Lynch’s voice came from the other end. "Nina, are you okay?"
"Did what I said earlier upset you too much? I’m not actually sure if April Graham really had Justin Kane’s child, so please don’t overthink it, okay?"
Nina Thorne’s eyes widened, but a large hand clamped over her mouth.
’Damn this man, he’s too strong.’
So strong she couldn’t break free at all.
She slapped at Justin Kane’s arm, her eyes filled with accusation, trying to signal for him to let her go.
When she didn’t say anything for a long time, Macy Lynch sensed something was wrong. "Nina, have you been kidnapped? Don’t scare me."
Justin Kane’s thin lips curled into a smirk, his cool voice laced with a chill. "Miss Macy Lynch, I have you to thank for today’s events. If it weren’t for you, she and I wouldn’t have had such a... bumpy ride."
Hearing that icy voice, Macy Lynch didn’t even have to guess who it was.
Her back instantly tensed, and she let out a dry laugh.
BEEP BEEP BEEP...
The call was disconnected.
Justin Kane tossed the phone aside and, at the same time, released his hand.
"Why did you answer my phone without permission?" Nina Thorne sat up. She was clearly angry, but her voice came out soft and weak, lacking any bite.
Justin Kane’s expression, however, had noticeably softened. From outside came Cole Kane’s relentless shouts.
"Wait here."
With that, he straightened up, walked out of the suite, crossed the living room, and went straight to the door.
’That brat Cole is too damn noisy!’
