Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 138: Dragonic Academy Vs HollowWay
Two huge fire claws appeared in front of the two and shot toward the students from Elemental Sovereign Magic Academy at lightning speed; they were like red blurs in the air that produced heat.
The fire claws crossed the arena in a flash and arrived behind the students from Elemental Sovereign Magic Academy before crashing into the ground and exploding.
Boom!
Only the Core mage amongst them was able to get away safely; the rest had been blown away by the impact of the explosion and parts of their uniforms had been burned.
They lay on the ground and groaned in pain. The light mage, who was the only one in the Core rank and also the only one left in his team, stared at his opponent with mixed feelings.
Only two people from their opponent’s side had almost wiped out their team. What could he possibly do by himself?
The students from Golden Element Magic Academy didn’t attack him right away and instead asked if he still wanted to continue the fight or surrender and not waste each other’s time.
The light mage gritted his teeth but still surrendered as fighting was pointless. The winner of that round was announced while the light mage went to help his teammates, and they left the arena.
After that, the names of the academies for the next match were projected as the teams representing them came up to the arena and the fight began.
Time passed as the teams from different Academies came up to the arena. Alex watched with surprising interest. No wonder many people had come from outside Balon City to watch the tournament; he had to admit that the match between the students was interesting to watch.
Although they were weak, the students from other magic academies were able to display surprising talent and use of their elements. Alex didn’t expect that there were so many young geniuses in Balon City.
There had been a few surprising outcomes during the previous matches, like a magic academy that was ranked in the top 20 defeating another academy that was in the top 10.
Alex had also noticed that none of the academies that were ranked in the top five during the last tournament had lost a match!
This had started with the Fierce Storm Magic Academy. All of the other Magic Academies in the top five had given their opponents a crushing defeat with no chance of giving excuses for their loss, the strength gap between those in the top 5 and the other academies was just too big!
Hours later, it was finally the turn of the Dragonic Magic Academy to come for their match.
As the 16th match for the day came to an end, teacher Christi called for Glen and the other three who were in the team for the team mode to come with her. The four of them got up and walked behind Teacher Christi. They left the sitting area of the academy and went to wait in a corner that wasn’t far from the arena.
They saw the students of HollowWay Magic Academy coming down from the other side of the stadium as well. The students of the HollowWay Magic Academy also looked at them, their eyes crossed and a sharp glint flashed past their eyes.
Both academies were ranked very close during the previous tournament. Dragonic Magic Academy was in 20th place, while HollowWay Magic Academy was in 21st place. It was odd that they had to face each other right at the start of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the match in the arena soon ended and the winner was announced.
After that, the names of the two magic academies were projected in the air.
Dragonic Magic Academy Vs HollowWay Magic Academy!
Cheers erupted across the stadium as the other students and supporters of the two academies showed their support for the two teams.
Teacher Christi told the four students beside her to go up to the arena. She wished them good luck and told them to look out for each other.
The four nodded with serious expressions as they approached the arena. They couldn’t deny that they were nervous as they stepped into the arena, the feeling was different from watching others fight.
Countless eyes watching them made them, and at the same time, they felt excited to be participating in the tournament.
Glen, Amelia, Jason, and Ryan stood side by side after entering the arena and locked gazes with their opponents.
Dressed in bright blue uniforms, the team from HollowWay Magic Academy included two boys and two girls who were around the same age as Glen and the rest.
The referees glanced at the two teams before one of them spoke.
"Begin!"
Whoosh!"
Immediately the voice of the referee sounded, the four from HollowWay Magic Academy shot toward Glen and the others like arrows; each of them heading for a single person.
Their intentions were clear: a one-on-one fight between the four of them.
The four from Dragonic Magic Academy instantly realised this and dashed forward as well.
After crossing a few meters with just fifteen meters now between them, both sides came to a halt and summoned their stars.
Coincidentally, two students on the side of HollowWay Magic Academy had the ice and fire elements, just like Glen and Jason.
As for the other two, they had the wind and earth elements.
"Wind blade!" A student from HollowWay Magic Academy cast his wind spell and launched the spell at Ryan. Ryan moved from the flying path of the wind blade with an impressive manoeuvre before casting a water blade, which flew toward the wind mage. The other party dodged to the side before casting swift feet and rushing toward Ryan, the two of them moved to a different location as they tossed spells at each other. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Jason was currently locked with the opposing team’s fire mage, who was one of the two girls on the opposing’ team.
Both were at the Adept mage rank and were currently attacking each other with fireballs.
Shockingly, the girl’s casting speed was a little bit faster than Jason’s, and her fireballs were slightly bigger as well, which made them stronger than Jason’s fireballs. Both of them had already noticed this, and the girl’s attacks were becoming more ruthless, but Jason was still able to dodge and fight back, at least for now.
Glen and the opponents’ ice mage faced each other. Glen had realised that this ice mage was only at the Adept mage rank and hadn’t noticed that she couldn’t see through Glen’s rank yet.
Glen didn’t show it right away that he was a Core mage and continued to stare at the other party, a pretty girl in the HollowWay Magic Academy’s blue uniform.
"Freezing wave!" The girl shouted as the stars around her formed a pale blue star pattern.
A cold burst of air exploded from the star pattern as frost began to appear and freeze the ground in front of her. A space for twenty meters instantly turned into a frozen domain, and the temperature dropped significantly. The area around Glen had been frozen too, and the cold air brushed against his skin.
But Glen didn’t react to the cold; he just stood there like a statue, as only his pale blue cloak fluttered.
This made the girl furrow her eyebrows as she looked at Glen with suspicion. Although Ice mages had better resistance to cold compared to other mages, Glen’s lack of reaction made her feel that something was wrong.
She hesitated, not knowing if she should cast her next spell or not.
In her moment of hesitation, she saw Glen’s stars move; he was about to cast a spell!
Her eyes narrowed as she summoned her stars as well and prepared to cast spells again, but her eyes widened the next moment as five more stars appeared around Glen and began to link together and form two star patterns.
A Core mage!
The girl was spooked as she didn’t expect Glen to be at the Core rank. How come she didn’t notice sooner?!
She immediately tried to move back and gain distance from Glen, but he had already completed the star patterns.
"Ice shackles!" Glen called out while pointing his right hand at the girl.
The two star patterns hovered beside him on both sides like detached circular wings and from them came two large ice chains that were like frozen thorns.
Swoosh!!
The two Ice shackles shot toward the girl at a fast speed, and the presence of the cold from the girl’s frozen wave further increased their speed.
She had shot herself in the foot!
The girl’s eyes flashed and she hurriedly jumped away.
Bam!
Just in time for the ice shackles to arrive at her previous location, they crashed into the ground with heavy sounds after missing the girl but immediately started to follow after her the next second; it was as if they had eyes of their own and would continue to chase the girl no matter where she ran to.
The girl gritted her teeth in frustration as she focused on dodging the ice shackles that were chasing her, a step slower and she would be done for.
However, she had just dodged the ice chains again when a thick vine suddenly appeared in front of her. She wasn’t able to dodge and could only watch with a horrified face as the vine slammed into her body.
A wave of pain washed over her as she was sent flying to the side and tumbling across the floor.
The girl felt like cursing, where did that damned vine come from?!
