Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 40: Lecturing thugs in the alley
Chapter 40: Lecturing thugs in the alley
"Hey kid, come over here for a second."
Alex heard a voice call out to him from a dark alley that was positioned between two half-collapsed buildings.
No lights could be seen from any of the windows on either building, which showed that no one lived in them.
Alex looked over; he was just a few more minutes away from his house, but he didn’t run away and walked over instead.
He knew what was about to happen since it had happened to the old Alex before, and he had naturally seen it in his memories. Alex would have probably run away like a mad man if it were when he just transmigrated, but now it was different.
’Now this should be fun,’ Alex chuckled silently as he walked toward the dark alley.
Sitting on top of some broken furniture and an old dumpster in the alley were a group of five men in ragged clothes and rough appearances. They had pieces of clothes tied around their foreheads or arms, and Alex could spot the scars on their bodies.
They were obviously not good people.
Seeing Alex walk over obediently, the five men were very pleased and began to laugh amongst themselves.
Alex reached the front of the alley and stood there, standing at the two men who were just a few meters away from him; someone seemed to have recognised him and called out.
"Hey, isn’t this Zoran’s kid? I heard he’s a student at the academy."
"Oh, he’s a mage then? Then we should be messing with him, else it might end badly, hehehe."
"Oh, knock it off, he’s been in the academy for 4 years and hasn’t made any progress, what can he do?"
The group of five chatted away, not caring that Alex was in front of them. After ridiculing him for a while, they finally shifted their focus to Alex.
"Hey, give us everything on you and we’ll let you go home without a beating." One of the men said. He wore a torn armless jean jacket with a red piece of fabric around his forehead, and a broken bottle was held in his right hand, which he showed to Alex.
Alex remained silent as he watched this, the five of them thought that he had become too scared to even speak.
"Well, his family is poor, and he’s a trash mage. What could he possibly have that would be valuable? Just let him go." Another man in a dirty singlet and a big scar on his cheek sighed from the side.
The others seem to agree with him, and they laughed. One of them noticed the ring on Alex’s finger at this moment, tho.
"He might not have anything of value, but that ring looks nice. Hand the ring over here, kid, and then get lost." He said while stretching out his hand.
Alex looked down at his fingers at this moment and raised his hand, displaying the ring.
"You mean this ring?" Alex asked.
"No, the one on your mother’s teeth. Do you think I’m playing with you? Hand it over and don’t make me hurt you." The man who had requested the ring retorted angrily, spit flying out of his mouth, and veins popped up on his neck as he barked at Alex.
"Sorry, but I don’t want to, I won’t give it to you." Alex lowered his hand and said softly while shaking his head.
The five men froze, stunned by Alex’s refusal. The man who had asked for the ring was even more shocked, he stood petrified in place for a bit before flying into a fit of rage the next moment.
"You punk!" He yelled as he jumped to his feet and grabbed a bottle that was close to him.
Clang!
He hit the bottle on the ground and immediately shattered half of it. Now holding the remaining half in his hand, he walked toward Alex.
"You bastard, you think I won’t dare to hurt you?" He spat as he reached Alex and waved the broken bottle at Alex.
Alex, seeing the incoming attack, raised his left hand to block.
Clang!
The broken bottle crashed into Alex’s hand, but instead of his hand getting stabbed and blood flowing out, as the five had expected, the sound of the remaining half of the bottle shattering was what greeted them instead.
They all saw the pieces of the bottle drop to the floor in front of Alex. They looked at his arm and saw that he was not hurt. Now even a scratch could be seen on his screen.
Five thugs "..."
Tf??????
Their minds went blank with question marks for a second as they couldn’t understand what was going on.
Why wasn’t the kid hurt?
Alex just glanced at the bottle fragments on the floor in front of him before raising his gaze to look at the man before him, his eyes were closed as he slowly lowered his hand.
He wasn’t surprised that he didn’t get hurt; he was an Expert rank mage and would have died of embarrassment if he were hurt by that.
Hick!
The man who had attacked Alex almost had his soul jumping out of his body when Alex looked at him like that. he wanted to retreat, but Alex’s hand moved like lightning and grabbed his neck before he could even take a step.
The man soon found his body being lifted off the ground and his breathing becoming difficult, as well as a firm grip around his neck that caused him pain.
He began to make choking sounds as he thrashed his hands and legs in the air, trying to break free from Alex’s grip.
The other four were utterly stupefied by this scene. What were they seeing?
Didn’t they say that this kid was a trash mage? Then why didn’t he get hurt after getting attacked with a bottle, and how was he holding up a full-grown man with one hand?
Everything was a lie, this kid wasn’t a trash mage; they had to run!
Immediately, this thought appeared on their mind, the remaining four immediately turned around and wanted to flee, but how could Alex allow that?
He first checked around to make sure that no other mage was around before releasing his mana.
Boom!
The powerful pressure of an Expert rank mage exploded from Alex’s body and covered the entire alley, bringing great pressure to all of the thugs.
"Whoever runs will die first," Alex stated in an icy tone, and all four of them froze in place, not daring to even breathe too loudly.
Alex was very pleased with their reaction. With the last thug in his grasp, Alex slowly walked into the alley.
A few moments later, horrified screams rang out from the dark alley. These screams lasted for minutes, they were mixed with pleading voices and promises of repentance.
Half an hour later, Alex could be seen walking home with a smile on his face.
He was in a good mood.
"That should be enough to make them change their ways," Alex mumbled to himself.
He didn’t kill the thugs and had only lectured them several times on how to change their bad ways of living, he noticed that some of them were reluctant to change, so Alex lectured them more seriously.
Due to the intensity of the lecture, some of them had ended up with swollen faces and even broken bones.
But all those were minor problems, they could fix themselves.
"I’m back," Alex announced as he opened the door and stepped into the house.
He met his mother walking out of the kitchen with some plates in her hands, their eyes met, and her eyes shifted the next second.
"What’s that ring you’re wearing?"
