Benevolent Demon : Hiatus!-Chapter 9: Shopping with cool mom

One week after the cocoon incident

"Say, ahhh, and woosh, down goes the yummy in the tummy."

'I think she's enjoying this a bit too much. I could probably eat by myself but I'll wait a few more weeks until then. Probably.'

"Dear, I will be going to work now, Bye Sirus, look after your mother." Ethan waves at his wife and Sirus

'Not much I can do as a child but sure' Sirus giggles as he gives out a thumbs up to his dad who responded with a chuckle.

Sirus glances at the front door that dad went through before turning back to complete his mission. Mission details, consume my food!

"Good boy, you want some more? She giggles at Sirus.

Sirus shakes his head, indicating that he is full. Mission completed!

"Awww, my son is so smart!" She exclaims as she picks up Sirus and rubs her cheeks against Sirus's cheeks.

Sirus glances at her mom's horns.

'They look so smooth and polished, I wonder how she gets them like that? Does she take care of her horns? Huh, I'll be sure to take future notes.'

Sasha stops to see what her son is looking at and notices him staring at her horns.

She smiles and raises her son to let him touch her horns.

Sirus reaches out his tubby wubby baby hands and touches her mom's horns.

'Wow, it really is smooth as it looks and her horns are also shaped differently.

First, they grow towards the back of the skull and they curve upwards and face the front by only a few centimetres. So smooth.' Sirus thoughts as he subconsciously smiles as he strokes the horns back and forth.

"Hahaha, okay you can stop now that tickles, haha." Sasha giggles as she puts her son down on the floor.

'Now's my chance to shine!' Sirus touches the floor with both of his hands and lifts himself up and slowly stands up.

Sirus takes a few small steps and looks up while smiling at his mother.

Sasha glances down and with a stunned look, she puts her hands on her mouth with stars glittering in her light-red eyes.

"Y-you, can walk.... Ahhhhh! This is so exciting! Oh, right, don't fall, you would give your poor mother a heart attack, Hahaha."

Sasha suddenly remembers something.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot I needed to do the shopping for today." She looks at her son and kneels down and with a big smile, she says.

"Sirus, do you want to help mommy with the shopping?"

'Shopping? That means I can look outside! I have never been outside yet, I have always just been inside this house.' Sirus's eyes sparkle with happiness and a big smile forms.

"Hahaha, that makes two of us! Let's go!" She holds Sirus's hand and takes him to his room to get changed.

"Look at this, I even managed to get custom made shoes for you, oh, oh, and look at these adorable little clothes for you!"

Sirus looks in front of him to see what her mother is holding up.

'It's. A picture of her smiling and giving the thumbs up..... And some weird writing that I can't read.' Sirus tilts his head in confusion.

"Oh, don't worry you can't read yet, haha. Here it says." She points her finger at each text before she says what's written.

"Sirus.... Loves..... His.... Mommy! See that's how you spell your name."

'I see... So that's how I spell my name, don't think I will be able to remember it but oh well.'

Sasha put's his shoes on and changes his clothes to the one she got for Sirus. Including the t-shirt that has her cute face on it.

"And all done! Awww, you look adorable! Okay, let's not waste any more time and let's head out!"

She exclaims as she looks at Sirus with adore.

'I swear if you look at me for any longer your eyes will legit glow with stars in your eyes' He thought with a slight giggle

Sasha holds his hand to make sure Sirus doesn't trip. They leave the house before locking it.

The moment Sirus steps outside the house after so long, his eyes sparkle and his mouth drops as he looks around at the scenery, culture, and people of the village.

As they stroll through the centre of the village, they attract quite a bit of attention as the villagers observe Sasha's son with his strange-looking legs.

"Is that her son?"

"Yeah, who else would it be."

"Why are his legs like that? I have never seen anything like it."

"Is it some sort of curse?"

"Shush! Don't say that."

Villagers murmur and whisper amongst themselves.

Sasha ignores all the talk and closes her eyes and lifts her head up like a proud mother. "Hmmph!" She pouts.

Sirus looks at the villagers before looking up at his mother. He decides to do the same, he lifts his head up high and closes his eyes.

They strode majestically across the centre of the village gathering everyone's attention.

They arrive at the markets where they sell vegetables to fruits and even things like household items.

Sasha kneels down and faces Sirus.

"Now, be a good boy and ignore those old-timers. And grab onto my dress as I shop okay." She says as she smiles and stands back up and pats Sirus's head before looking for what they need.

Sirus holds onto her mom's dress tightly as she shops.

'So this is the market. It's very old fashioned, they have their stalls on the floor with a sign on top indicating what they sell. Even though I can't read it, I can only assume it says what they sell, as well the price.'

Villagers pass by the market as they look down and notice Sirus's strange legs.

Sirus sticks his tongue out to tease them.

"My, what a rude child."

'WHAT!? Me rude, says the lot who keep staring at the helpless child with his strange legs.' Sirus thoughts as he walks closer towards his mom.

"Come on, let's play already."

"Pass the ball over here!"

"No, to me!"

Sirus looks to his right side and sees 4 children playing with a ball.

He looks down and notices their legs and compares them to his own.

'Why I'm I the only child here with these legs?'

20 minutes pass by.

Sasha looks down at Sirus before opening her mouth.

"Sirus, I'm done, let's go home."

Sirus nods at her response.

As they walk back, Sirus sees his dad on the field doing his duty.

Sirus tugs her moms dress to get her attention.

She looks down to see what he wants.

"What is it dear? Are you hungry?" She says as she tilts her head to the side.

Sirus shakes his head with his eyes closed. He opens them back up and points towards his dad in the distance who's working on the fields.

Sasha lifts her head back up and sees him point towards her husband. She understands what Sirus is trying to say and smiles.

"Okay, let's go visit dad and after we can head home."

Sirus nods with a smile.

"Huff, quite warm today. Ethan says and he wipes the sweat on his forehead.

He notices someone running towards him and he stands up and sees a small child with strange-looking legs. He squints his eyes and notices it's his son.

"Sirus?" He mutters.

"Sirus! I told you not to run, I don't want you to get hurt." Sasha yells as she slowly walks down the field.

Ethan kneels down and smiles with wide eyes as he didn't expect his son to walk much less run with his legs.

Sirus runs for the first time, getting a feel of it. He makes a leap to his fathers arms, pushing him down to the floor.

"Hahaha, look at you! You can already walk, and run!. I'm so proud of you, you can walk and run even with your legs like that. Aren't you a clever boy." He exclaims with a wide smile revealing his sharp fangs

Ethan glances in the distance and sees his wife walking towards him.

"Well, good afternoon my lady." He says with a smirk.

Sasha giggles as she watches her husband with Sirus in his arms.

"Give me a few more minutes and I should be done with my work for today." He says as he puts down Sirus and walks towards his boss who is in the far distance.

"Alright, dear." She says as she puts her hand above her eyes to block the sun from hitting her eyes.

Sirus runs after his dad without telling his mom.

"Oh, and there he goes, haha. Though I'm surprised that he can walk, much less run in a single day." Sasha concluded that her son must have been practicing in his room.

Ethan arrives behind his boss and forcefully coughs to get his attention.

The old man looks up and sees it's Ethan, he stands up.

He's around the same height as Ethan who is 2.5 metre tall as the old man who is slightly shorter than him. He has dark grey hair to his shoulders and great big horns that spread outwards. And he has a long beard and a long moustache that spreads upwards.

"Mr Ethan, wanting to leave work a few minutes off I see. HAHAHA." He laughs so loudly that everyone within half a kilometre can hear his loud laugh.

Ethan shakes his head before replying.

"Yes Sir, if it isn't a bother."

Before his boss could open his mouth, he sees a little one running towards them.

"Oh, who's the little one?" He says as he scratches his beard.

Ethan looks down and sees Sirus.

"He's my son, Sirus."

The old man stares at Sirus from toe to head before he opens his mouth.

"Hmmm, I have seen those legs before. Though usually, monsters in the deep forest have those types of legs." He said out loud as he continues to stare at Sirus's legs

"Really?" He was shocked at his response. He doesn't leave the village so he hasn't seen the creatures in the woods.

"Well, I will let you leave early since your little one is with you. And, oh, you can have the weekend off. You earned it."

Ethan bows his head and thanks his boss before leaving while holding his son's hands.
