Betrothed To An Alpha? I Don't Think So!-Chapter 93: Get Your Hand Off ME
Chapter 93: Get Your Hand Off ME
"I can’t do that," Silas said. "I’m only loyal to my boss. I don’t answer to anybody else. And that means I can’t let you pass through this door, just yet."
"Don’t make me kill you," Zayne warned. "Because I’d kill hundreds for her, and I don’t care who."
"I’d like to see you try, Mr. Zayne Mancini."
[Zayne! Zayne, what’s going on in there?] Alessio kept asking through the earpiece.
Zayne stared hard at the man in front of him.
He took his coat off, letting it slip to the floor. As he dropped his hands to his sides, Silas frowned, wondering what he was trying to do.
Slowly, he watched the man’s fingernails elongate into...claws.
"What the...fuck?"
"I warned you. You humans just don’t ever listen."
Silas took a step back, watching as he flexed them. He dragged his gaze back to his face and the green of his eyes was gone. Instead, they’d been pooled over by a golden colour, one that sent so much shivers down his body, enough he tried to reach for the handle of the door.
But he stood still.
He was afraid. Yet he was unmoving.
What was he looking at? Some kind of human mutant? An experiment that escaped a lab?
Zayne Mancini?
Why was he—
Zayne was in his face in the blink of an eye, and Silas didn’t even have the time to react or even digest his fear.
He was snatched by the throat and slammed so hard into the wall, that he felt a ringing in his head. His body felt as if he’d been hit by a speeding truck.
But Zayne wasn’t done with him.
No, he picked him off the floor, threw him hard against another wall, and right as he plummeted to the floor, he kicked him so hard, Silas spurted blood all over the floor.
But that still didn’t stop Zayne.
He looked crazed, grabbing him by the throat and lifting him off the floor. "Where is she? Where is my mate?"
Silas stared at him, barely breathing.
Zayne pierced a single claw into his neck. "I’ll kill you in the most horrible way you can imagine and I’ll tear you apart. Where the fuck is she?" freёnovelkiss.com
Silas coughed, spitting blood on his face. "You’re...too late, Mr. Mancini. I doubt they’re still on l-land right now."
[Zayne! Zayne, Evelyn! Get her! He’s leaving! What are you doing? You’re supposed to—]
Zayne dropped Silas. He raced outside, rushing his way to the back, where he had to stop.
The chopper was already up in the air. And he could tell Evelyn was in there because while the blades were blowing off everything around it, he could still smell Evelyn’s scent.
Valerio looked down and on seeing him, he smirked. "Aww, look at me. He looks devastated."
Evelyn pushed herself toward the window, looking down to see him. "Zayne..." She began sobbing again. "Zayne please..."
How close, yet so far he was.
She couldn’t scream for him. Couldn’t even go to him. That would be nothing more than asking for her own death.
"EVELYN!" He could see her. He could see her looking through the window. Sobbing.
He dragged his fingers through his hair, unable to do anything as the chopper flew off.
How could he.... How could he have let her slip off his finger for the second time?
Zayne began to pace back and forth, shoulders rising and falling in heavy breathing.
"Zayne! Zayne!" The voice belonged to Alessio who’d rushed over stopping at the chopper which was now far out of sight. "Oh, fuck!"
Zayne slowly turned toward him. "You said you were watching..."
Alessio blinked. "W-what?"
"Why didn’t you tell me when he started to leave with her? Huh? Why didn’t you say something?"
"What do you mean? How was I supposed to tell? There weren’t any CCTV cameras in the room he had her in so I couldn’t have known." His face fell into a frown. "And why are you questioning me? Why are you acting like it’s my fault she’s gone?"
"If you’d told me earlier, I could’ve gotten to her! I could’ve done something!" Zayne yelled at him. "You—"
"Well, I’m not the one who could have maybe done something instead of beating up a man because you’re angry. You know what, Zayne? This is all your fault!" Alessio glared at him. "You’re the one who made your mate leave you in the first place. You’re the one who was careless with her and you’re the reason she’s in this situation. It’s all your fault, so—"
"Shut the hell up, Alessio!" Zayne snatched him by the collar of his shirt. "Shut your mouth. Because if you—"
"What?" Alessio gritted out. "Are you going to hit me? Fine, go ahead, do it. Think it’s going to change anything? If you didn’t want to be in the first place, you shouldn’t have made her leave you! You should have been a better mate to her and maybe—"
He punched him in the face. "I told you to shut the hell up, didn’t I? What do you think you know?"
Alessio staggered. He flickered his eyes, lifted his hand to touch his bleeding lip. Without a second thought, he punched him back, hard enough to make Zayne stagger back.
"You little shit!"
"Fuck you!"
Zayne was in his face as fast as the blow of the breeze, grasping him by the collar. Alessio was breathing hard, his shoulder rising and falling as he let out a shaky breath, eyes growing wet.
Zayne stared at him. "You just know how to piss me off."
"What the hell are you two doing?!" Dario, who’d come out of the building, yelled at both of them as he stormed toward them.
He grabbed Zayne, shoving him aside, and then Alessio.
"What happened here?" he questioned. "And why is your lip bleeding?"
"He punched me!" Alessio pointed at Zayne.
Zayne’s jaw clenched in frustration. "And I’ll do it again if you—"
"ZAYNE!" Dario snapped over at him.
"What?!"
"Are you crazy?" he asked. "Why would you do that? He’s our little brother."
"Then maybe he should’ve just kept his mouth shut." Zayne walked past him to leave, but Dario grabbed his arm.
He looked at him. "Dario, get your hand off me."
