Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 412: Fury
The blueprint of the Immortal Hybrids was none other than their creator herself: The Witch of Chaos, Angela Cathedral.
That was the realisation that dawned in everyone’s minds at that moment, a reality they all so vehemently tried to deny, especially those who had orchestrated this entire mess.
They didn’t want to accept that they were the ones who had caused the return of one of the most feared existences across the Cosmos.
But, instinctively, every Supreme Realm existence present understood that the woman floating in the air was the real deal.
Not a single one of them didn’t know what Angela looked like, even those born long after her mysterious disappearance over a billion years ago.
That was one thing, but there was also another deciding factor.
What everyone had just witnessed was undeniably cosmic energy regeneration.
Every Cosmic Being had regeneration. To wield the energy required for the Cosmos to function without at least some regenerative ability would be absurd.
But while all Cosmic Beings did indeed have powerful regenerative abilities, if you asked any of the Supremes or Grand Supremes present to regenerate their entire bodies from nothing in the span of a minute, they would have fought you to the death for such an outrageous demand.
Now, they realised that the ball of light they’d seen earlier was Angela’s soul, sealed within Daniella. They had simply failed to recognise it as such because it didn’t resemble a ’Soul’ as their senses or common sense expected.
The cosmic energy it gathered, so much that its collection had actually lowered the universe’s overall energy level, was what had been used to recreate Angela’s body from scratch, starting from her heart.
Complete regeneration from nothing. There was no pre-existing body to repair, or even a single subatomic particle.
That looked less like standard cosmic energy regeneration and more like a specific, absurd kind of regenerative ability that had been exhibited by a particular group of six people, who also happened to be the same Hybrids created by this woman.
Seeing Angela exhibit a level of regenerative power comparable to the Immortal Hybrids they had all envied made her being the ’Blueprint’ the Hybrids were based on not sound so false anymore to Jamie’s allies, who had doubted it before.
With every breath Angela took, she inhaled and exhaled an incomprehensible amount of cosmic energy.
Her eyelids slowly fluttered open, revealing a pair of shimmering, glassy eyes, unfocused, like someone waking from a deep sleep.
And the moment that happened, reality itself began to crumble.
Everything stuttered and fractured as if reality were skipping frames. Jagged cracks, like splintering glass, raced across the fabric of spacetime, and the universe began to tear apart around her, like fragile cloth caught on an unseen edge.
The sight filled everyone with a dread greater than even the Dead Zone’s pseudo-nonexistence, and immediately, many began fleeing as fast as they could.
However, Jamie snapped his fingers and trapped them within the Tau Galaxy. Not a single existence could move from where they were, left with no choice but to watch cosmic disaster unfold.
Make no mistake, Angela hadn’t done anything yet.
Jamie had said before that whatever Daniella had been sealing, upon its unsealing, the balance of the Cosmic Forces of Chaos and Order would collapse, and it was for this reason he had let Daniella take his power.
He hadn’t been exaggerating.
Angela was called the ’Witch of Chaos’ for a reason, and her mere presence was enough to tip the cosmic force balance within the Zanerth universe, instantly plunging everything into chaos.
Universal laws began to break down.
Stars pulsed irregularly. Black holes that had remained dormant for aeons reawakened, devouring matter with insatiable hunger.
Nascent galaxies collapsed as their supporting galactic filaments crumbled with the breakdown of universal laws.
Time itself lost all sense of linearity, flowing backwards as events across the universe reversed.
The fabric of space and time writhed under the imbalance, as nearly every function of the universe began to fall into disorder.
All of this happened within seconds of Angela opening her eyes.
Jamie honestly wanted to let everything run its course to show the gathered crowd the consequences their greed had invited.
But he, more than anyone, understood the danger of allowing it to continue. If the Chaos spread, the Zanerth universe would be only the beginning.
The shift in the cosmic force balance would spread into neighbouring universes and eventually attract the attention of the Eternals, whose founding members had suppressed the Cosmic Force of Chaos when it had almost dominated all existence over a trillion years ago.
Taking a deep breath, Jamie extended his right hand towards Angela’s floating body and declared.
|Imperial Privileges: Final Privilege.|
Everyone who knew Jamie Westley and was aware of the strange set of Authorities he called his Imperial Privileges had only ever known the first Five.
Creation, Space, Reality, Time and Destruction.
Fundamentals of the Cosmos.
Now, he had declared a sixth, the Final Privilege he hadn’t used since the fateful day of Angela’s ’disappearance’ over a billion years ago.
|Forced Equilibrium.|
His Authority as the Envoy of Balance manifested, imposing an equilibrium between the cosmic forces of chaos and order that permeated the fabric of existence throughout the universe.
The balance that Angela’s mere presence had tipped was forcibly restored, demanding an almost inconceivable amount of cosmic energy per second to maintain.
As Jamie imposed the equilibrium, the pushback against the chaotic energy radiating from Angela seemed to snap her a little more awake.
She blinked, a little more focus now in her eyes, though traces of confusion lingered.
Another blink, and the chaotic cosmic energy streaming from her body was sucked back in, her energy signature vanishing completely.
A black dress formed around her as she slowly stretched her arms and legs, yawned lightly, and floated to the ground.
She scanned the gathered crowd with the same hint of unfocused awareness, as if she hadn’t fully woken, despite her eyes being open.
Her gaze then landed on Jamie, whose hand remained outstretched, Forced Equilibrium still active.
Then, her expression finally changed, a light frown forming as she muttered, "Balance... that thing is distasteful. Deactivate it."
Jamie immediately replied, "Control your Chaos first, Angela."
For a moment, she stared at him dazedly, then yawned, and slowly, the turbulent forces between chaos and order stabilised, and the distortion of reality receded as order reasserted its rigid influence, remaking what chaos had unmade.
Angela now looked far less sleepy, clear evidence that her level of consciousness directly influenced her control over the power of chaos.
The less aware she was, the less control she wielded, and the more chaos her mere existence caused.
As Order reasserted its influence, Jamie slowly lowered his hand, deactivating his Imperial Privilege and checking how much cosmic energy he had left.
Angela also did the same, a hint of surprise in her voice when she noticed his current Existence Realm.
"You are a Zenith now? How long has it been?"
"A little over a billion," Jamie replied.
Angela raised an eyebrow, lightly surprised. "That long, huh? I suppose a ’long time no see’ would be apt here."
Jamie’s expression remained neutral. "Yeah... not nice to see you again, though."
For a moment, silence hung between them, and then Angela nodded.
"Mhmm. The feeling is mutual."
The sound of their exchange was the only thing that echoed as everyone else watched quietly.
Angela raised a hand and scratched her hair, finally glancing around at everyone present.
She looked mildly puzzled by the gathering, wondering why so many people were present, but more pressing matters occupied her mind, so she decided to ask later, when she cared enough to.
Her gaze returned to Jamie as she muttered, "I’m not exactly sure about my mental state at the time, but I’m pretty sure the only reason I let you use that thing on me was because of Daniela."
She then tilted her head to the side and asked, "Where is she?"
Jamie forced his expression to remain calm and pointed behind Angela. Confused, she slowly turned and saw the wounded Daniela on the floor.
"...."
Angela blinked, and for a moment, sound itself seemed to vanish.
Jamie immediately activated all his Dictums simultaneously, massive amounts of cosmic energy bursting from his body and spreading across space, engulfing hundreds.
In the next second, Angela’s dead calm voice echoed, not through ears, but directly inside the minds of everyone present.
|Who?|
That single word slammed into every soul like a furious tidal wave of energy, shattering all protective barriers around them.
The commands Jamie had enforced over reality with his Dictums broke one by one, sacrificed to shield a select few from the grip of death pressing on their souls, ready to crush them the nanosecond Angela willed it.
He clutched his chest and staggered, blood trickling from his nose, and at the sight, Miranda, realising immediately what had happened, motioned to move.
But Jamie held out his hand to stop her, narrowing his eyes as he pushed back Angela’s cosmic force with his own.
|Control yourself, Angela! The culprits are on the floor around you.
Scour their souls and you’ll find who was behind them.|
At those words, Angela’s gaze finally registered the presence of the thousands sprawled across the floor.
Kaiser, along with many others who had arrived with him, wanted to point out that their subordinates were among them, as Miranda had forced everyone down when she arrived, but fear gripped them too tightly to make a sound.
Angela took a deep breath, crouching to Daniella’s eye level and brushing the side of her face.
"Foolish sister of mine. Why did you persist so much when you’re still capable of death?"
