Big Shot Little Jiaojiao Breaks Her Persona Again-Chapter 24
“My granddaughter gave it to me,” Old Master Chi answered with a smile.
Granddaughter?
Shen Yin looked at Chi Yan subconsciously.
“Not this granddaughter. My biological granddaughter.” Old Master Chi glanced at Chi Yan faintly, who was sitting there thinking about something.
Everyone in the Chi family liked Chi Yan, but he didn’t.
It wasn’t because Chi Yan wasn’t related to him by blood, but because this girl’s ulterior motives were more than the holes on a lotus root.
Chi Yan’s face turned pale when she heard Old Master Chi’s words.
Zhu Limin glanced at Old Master Chi. It was obvious that she was very dissatisfied with what he had just said. However, she felt very aggrieved as she couldn’t say anything either.
Shen Yin knew that the Chi family had a Second Miss. When he thought of the young lady in a white dress whom he had seen earlier when he came over, he knew that Old Master Chi was talking about her.
“Then, I’ll go find Second Miss,” Shen Yin said hurriedly before dashing off to find Chi Jiao.
Chi Jiao looked around the banquet hall before finally finding Chi Mingwei, who was chatting with his friends.
When Chi Mingwei saw her walking towards him, he told his friends that he would be back to continue their conversation, before walking towards Chi Jiao.
“Daddy.” Chi Jiao walked up to him and smiled sweetly.
Chi Mingwei reached out to touch her head. “Aren’t you accompanying Grandpa? Why did you come looking for me?”
“I have a headache and want to go home early,” Chi Jiao said softly.
“Did you give your gift to grandpa?” Chi Mingwei asked.
Chi Jiao nodded her head.
“Alright, then. Daddy will get the chauffeur to send you back.” After Chi Mingwei said that, the phone in his pocket rang.
“Go ahead and answer the call first. I’m not in a hurry,” Chi Jiao said with a smile.
Chi Mingwei took out his phone. When he saw that it was an unknown number, he frowned and picked it up.
“Hello, are you Quan Jue’s parent?” A formal female voice came through the phone.
Chi Jiao was standing rather close to Chi Mingwei. When she heard the words “Quan Jue” coming from the other end of the phone, she pricked up her ears.
“Yes, that’s me. May I know who this is?” Chi Mingwei glanced at Chi Jiao, who immediately turned her gaze elsewhere and pretended to be nonchalant as she drew circles on the ground with her toes.
“I’m from the south district police station in White City. It’s like this, Quan Jue…”
From there, Chi Jiao couldn’t hear the person on the other end of the phone clearly anymore, but she could see that her father’s face had turned very ugly and his aura had turned cold and solemn.
When Chi Mingwei hung up the phone, Chi Jiao asked apprehensively, “Daddy, did something happen to Brother Quan?”
“Quan Jue fought with someone and the person was sent to the hospital. He was taken to the police station.” Chi Mingwei’s face was as black as charcoal. He knew that the young man was a ruthless character.
This was not the first time Quan Jue had beaten someone into the hospital.
“Jiaojiao, now do you know why Daddy doesn’t want you to get too close to Quan Jue? That lad has evil intentions and is ruthless. The both of you belong in different worlds,” Chi Mingwei added.
“Daddy, do you not plan to care about Brother Quan anymore?” Chi Jiao asked, automatically blocking his words.
Chi Mingwei narrowed his eyes. He felt that Chi Jiao was overly concerned about that lad.
Could it be that that fellow had cast a bewitching spell on her?
“Jiaojiao—” Chi Mingwei dragged his words out. “Did you hear what Daddy just said?”
Chi Jiao blinked her doe eyes and looked at him innocently. “Daddy, Brother Quan is our family too. Shouldn’t we get him out of the police station first before talking about anything else?”
