Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 40 - 035: Some Connections
Chapter 40: Chapter 035: Some Connections
Yi Luowa noticed the perplexing expression on Little Raindrop as she stared at Mi Chenxuan and quickly waved her hand, getting out of bed herself.
Mi Chenxuan pouted, watching her as she got into the wheelchair on her own.
Yi Luowa turned back with a smile and maneuvered the wheelchair, leaving the ward first.
Little Raindrop tugged at Mi Chenxuan's hand, and the two followed her out the door.
Tong Airui glanced at Yi Luowa, who entered with a tense expression, and said in a low voice, "As a servant, you ought to be aware of your place. You're not here to obey at all times, so I have to scour the world looking for you?"
Yi Luowa lowered her gaze and said submissively, "Master, this world isn't that big, I was just next door."
"Pfft~" Sitting across from Tong Airui, Mi Chenshuo burst into laughter, and even the newly arrived Little Raindrop and Mi Chenxuan couldn't help but smile.
Tong Airui coldly stared Yi Luowa down for several seconds, "From now on, without my orders, you're to stay in this room."
"Yes," Yi Luowa replied with an utmost humble expression.
Mi Chenxuan rushed over, barely holding back his laughter, and said, "Little girl, you should stop acting so stiff. You're going to make me suffer internal injuries from holding it all in."
"Don't mess around; my master is lecturing me!" Yi Luowa pushed Mi Chenxuan away, then sat upright and seriously faced Tong Airui.
Tong Airui's mouth twitched slightly as he lifted his gaze to Mi Chenshuo and Tong Aino. "Tomorrow at nine, the shareholder meeting at Yi Corporation will proceed as scheduled. According to the latest information, Xi Meichen has already been discharged and is back home. This woman always operates ruthlessly, so when the three of you attend tomorrow, you must proceed with extreme caution. The earpieces and micro cameras must stay on so I can adjust tactics as needed in case of emergencies."
Yi Luowa almost laughed out loud. This guy, it's just a meeting; why make it sound like war?
Tong Aino rolled her eyes at the overly serious Yi Luowa and spoke, "Can't Third Brother go by himself?"
"Third Brother is representing Uncle, but you are the CEO of Zhuoyuan Group!" Tong Airui said seriously.
Tong Aino furrowed her brows slightly. "But I haven't taken office yet."
"You already lost a race. As per the earlier agreement, you've officially taken office!"
Tong Aino jumped out of the sofa as if someone had stepped on her tail and pointed at Yi Luowa's nose, yelling, "Dead girl, it's all your fault! If you hadn't beaten me, I would still be carefree and enjoying life!"
Yi Luowa scoffed, "You're not that young anymore. Carefree? President Tong, if you can't afford to lose, don't play!"
"Dead girl!" Tong Aino roared, "Shut up! Because of your silly nonsense, my brothers have to step in for you. Who do you think you are?"
"I'm Yi Luowa! Champion of the Summer Witch Highway Race!" Yi Luowa tilted her head and stared at him, enunciating each word, "From now on, no matter which race you sign up for, I'll be there to play with you!"
"Fine! I refuse to believe your luck will last forever!"
Yi Luowa chuckled, "On the racetrack, it's not luck but skill that counts. Got it?"
"Luowa, kid, can't you tone it down a notch!" Uncle Li shouted loudly from outside the door.
"Uncle Li, come in for a moment," Tong Airui gestured to Uncle Li, completely ignoring the two people arguing.
Uncle Li hurried inside, and Tong Airui handed him a folder from the coffee table. "Bring this out yourself tomorrow."
"Understood." Uncle Li respectfully accepted the folder.
"Stay alert over the next few days. Mr. Yi cannot be left alone for even a second within 24 hours."
"Yes."
Yi Luowa glanced at Uncle Li, and Uncle Li shot her a look. "Don't forget the Second Master's instructions!"
Yi Luowa made a silly face. "My master said Mr. Yi cannot be left alone for 24 hours, so why are you still standing here?"
"Troublemaker!" Uncle Li shot an apologetic look at Tong Airui before leaving the room.
Yi Luowa adjusted her posture and sat upright with an overly serious expression. She wanted Uncle Li gone mainly because she felt uncomfortable. At his age, why should Uncle Li take orders from Beast Tong?
Tong Airui opened a box and distributed micro cameras and earpieces to Tong Aino and Mi Chenshuo.
"Pour me a glass of water," Tong Airui said sternly.
Yi Luowa didn't move; she was too busy inspecting the micro camera in Mi Chenshuo's hand out of curiosity.
Little Raindrop noticed the shift in her brother's expression, which suddenly turned grim, and quickly walked to the water dispenser.
Tong Airui frowned slightly. "Yi Luowa, have you forgotten who you are again?"
"Huh?" Yi Luowa looked at Tong Airui in confusion.
"I said I want water!"
Yi Luowa hurriedly nodded, "Understood, Master."
Mi Chenshuo looked at her mischievous yet obedient little act and laughed, "If you ever become an actress, you'll definitely be great at it!"
"Idol, you should just say I'm good at pretending." Yi Luowa pouted as she rolled her wheelchair over to the water dispenser.
Little Raindrop smiled at her playful antics and handed her the filled glass of water.
"Thank you, Sister Tong." Yi Luowa accepted it with a grin and wheeled herself to Tong Airui's side, placing the cup respectfully beside him. "Master, your water!"

Tong Airui glanced sideways at the glass and handed her a pair of earrings. "Wear these tomorrow."
Yi Luowa took them with a sweet smile. "Master is so generous! A glass of water comes with gifts."
"Remember to return them after tomorrow," Tong Airui said, taking a sip of water.
"Got it!" Yi Luowa examined the earrings closely. "So, these are earpieces and cameras too?"
Tong Airui had been planning to mess with her a bit more, but his subordinate arrived to report that Prince You Jia was on his way, leaving him no choice but to send Yi Luowa off for now.
Yi Luowa hadn't been gone long when the entire corridor was filled with guards stationed every few steps. Pouting at the sight, she muttered, "Who could be worth such a spectacle?"
Uncle Li closed the door behind him and whispered, "It's Prince You Jia from S Country."
"Here to see Beast Tong?" Yi Luowa scoffed.
"Mr. Tong's aristocratic lineage is influential. It's our fortunate turn if he's willing to assist us."
When Uncle Li saw her rolling her eyes again, he pulled back the curtain to suggest she take a look outside.
Yi Luowa leaned over and glanced below. The parking lot behind the building was packed with cars and people, some in matching uniforms and others in military attire — all meticulous and ready.
"Since we have some time, let me tell you about Mr. Tong's family background so you can understand how lucky you are to still be alive after injuring him!" Uncle Li pulled up a chair to sit down. "Mr. Tong holds the duke titles of both the Summer Witch Nation and Raman Kingdom. He also commands a mysterious, invincible team. His father is the Prime Minister of the Summer Witch Nation, and his mother is none other than the legendary detective Tong Yao, whom Second Master can't stop talking about..."
Yi Luowa looked at Uncle Li in shock. "Are you saying Beast Tong's mother is the woman who influenced my Second Uncle's entire life?"
