Chapter 79 - 074: I'm Timid, Don't Scare Me (Part 2)

"Tell her to stop messing with my stuff in the future!" Tong Airui frowned as he pulled a bathrobe out.

"You'll have to tell her that yourself." Yuan Hang mumbled as he dashed into the bathroom, adjusted the shower temperature, and ran back out.

Tong Airui glanced at him. "How do I get Ai Ni to stop sending me endless supplies of childish underwear?"

"You're better at coming up with ideas than me. Figure it out yourself." Yuan Hang noticed Tong Airui's ominous glare and quickly added with a grin, "Or you could tell her your girlfriend doesn't like them. Sixth Miss is such a reasonable person..."

"Girlfriend? The problem is, where's my girlfriend?" Tong Airui said, smiling mischievously at him.

Yuan Hang immediately covered his eyes with his hand. "Boss, please don't smile at me like that. You're going to scare me to death!"

Tong Airui swatted his hand away. "Cut the act! If you were really afraid of me, would you dare to blab all my embarrassing secrets?"

"Fourth Master, I'll just go with you to shower, how about that?" Yuan Hang joked as he helped Tong Airui into the bathroom with a playful grin.

"Girlfriend? Girlfriend! Girlfriend... who came up with this word, anyway?" Tong Si's voice echoed from inside the bathroom.

"I don't know. What's up? Don't like hearing it? Want me to hunt them down and take them out for you?"

"I'll take *you* out! What are you looking at? Get out!"

A moment later, Yuan Hang came out chuckling.

Yi Luowa came in holding two pieces of Tong Airui's clothing. "Brother Yuan Hang, do these clothes need dry cleaning?"

"Why are you still walking around like this?" Yuan Hang hurriedly took the clothes from her. "You've been running around all day. Aren't you tired?"

"I'm just dropping off the clothes, then I'll go rest." Yi Luowa glanced around. "Where's my boss?"

Yuan Hang slanted his mouth in the direction of the bathroom. "He's showering. Fourth Master had a rough day. I just saw a red patch on his waist; maybe it's a heat rash."

Yi Luowa paused for a moment, then turned to leave. "I'll go find a doctor."

Watching her leave, Yuan Hang burst into laughter. "Fourth Master's waist is all red, and now the little girl's neck is turning red. Interesting!"

Yi Luowa had just reached the nurse's station when she saw Maizekai. "Dr. Mai, Yuan Hang mentioned that Tong Airui seems to have a heat rash on his waist."

Maizekai looked at her and asked slowly, "Yuan Hang *mentioned* it? You didn't see it yourself, right?"

"Right." Yi Luowa nodded.

"What he said might need verifying. Come with me to the treatment room. I'll check on how your leg wound is healing." Maizekai walked into the treatment room in his careful, measured steps.

Yi Luowa pursed her lips, glanced at Tong Airui's ward, then followed him in. "Dr. Mai, are you saying Yuan Hang's words aren't reliable?"

"Hard to say." Maizekai gestured toward the chair. "Sit down."

Yi Luowa didn't sit and said anxiously, "How about you go check on Tong Airui first? He was sweating a lot at the barracks today—the lumbar support belt he wore was soaked."

"That's on him... You seem very concerned about him? If I recall correctly, weren't you the one who injured him with a kick?" Maizekai picked up a pair of medical scissors and gave them a glance.

Yi Luowa instinctively took a step back. "I'm faint-hearted. Don't scare me with that thing!"

"Faint-hearted?" Maizekai gave her a knowing smirk. "If you were faint-hearted, do you think my Fourth Brother would be in the state he's in now? Sit down! I'll check you first, then see to him."

Yi Luowa quickly sat down. Only after sitting did she realize she'd somehow ended up worrying about that troublesome beast again! She was annoyed—angry at herself. She'd clearly already made up her mind not to think about him, not to care about him. So why, why couldn't she control her heart?

Maizekai knelt down, cut open the bandages on her leg, and inspected the wound. "Not bad—went through a whole day without inflammation."

Yi Luowa frowned as she glanced at her wound. With its four or five stitches, it looked like an earthworm sprawled out there. So ugly. "When can I get a tattoo?"

Maizekai frowned as he looked at her. "Why would you want a tattoo?"

Yi Luowa pointed at her wound. "To cover this worm here."

"I gave you ointment to prevent scarring, didn't I? Haven't you been applying it?" Tong Airui strode coolly into the room, dressed in a breezy white linen leisure outfit.

Yi Luowa's lips twitched. "Why are you everywhere I go?"

Tong Airui raised his hand and gave her hair a firm rub. After glancing at her wound, he turned to Maizekai. "Can she have the stitches removed today?"

"I heard you've developed a heat rash?" Maizekai stood up slowly.

Tong Airui stared at him, clearly exasperated. "Dr. Mai, I'm asking if she can have her stitches removed today. Can we deal with her situation first before getting to mine?"

"Where's Old Eight?" Maizekai picked up scissors for removing stitches from a sterile tray.

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly. "Miss him? If you're so eager, I'll send you both to the barracks together."

Maizekai didn't even acknowledge him, instead calling out toward the door. "Yuan Hang, go grab the ointment. After we remove the stitches, we'll need to apply it."

Tong Airui could only look at Maizekai helplessly.

Yi Luowa burst out laughing. She really ought to learn from Maizekai—his approach seemed to irritate Tong Airui far more than directly talking back ever could.
