Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 799 - 665: Excruciating Agony (Second Update)
Tong Airui chuckled, "Tell him to go talk to his own grandpa about it."
"He already talked to Uncle Eight, but Uncle Eight didn’t respond." Yuan Hang lifted his gaze towards Tong Airui. "What on earth is Uncle Eight thinking?"
"He’s got a thin skin. Qiu Hong outranks him, and he just can’t stomach it."
"But now Uncle Eight’s rank is higher than Qiu Hong’s. What’s there left for him to complain about?"
"Bring Qiu Hong back and have him follow you around. Then parade him in front of Uncle Eight every day."
Yuan Hang burst out laughing, "Sir, if I do that, won’t Uncle Eight beat me up?"
"Let him try! A subordinate hitting a superior—lock him up in solitary confinement if he dares."
Yi Luowa slapped Tong Airui’s thigh playfully. "You’re just wicked! Why did Uncle Eight send Qiu Hong away in the first place?"
Tong Airui gave a helpless smile. "After Qiu Hong got into the military academy, he lived on campus. The academy had strict rules, and Qiu Hong couldn’t get in. He was stuck at home every day, frustrated to the point of falling ill. Uncle Eight felt sorry for him and sent him back to Xiawu to join the army. Who would’ve thought that once he joined, Qiu Hong would rack up military achievements one after another, climbing the ranks like a rocket? By the time Uncle Eight came back, Qiu Hong outranked him by several levels."
Yuan Hang chimed in, "Once Qiu Hong found out why Uncle Eight didn’t want him to come back, he even started giving up promotions for others. Otherwise, he wouldn’t still be a lieutenant colonel."
Yi Luowa furrowed her brows slightly. "You need to talk to Uncle Eight about this. He’s ruining someone’s potential by doing this."
Yuan Hang chuckled, "All of us who follow the lords don’t think about our own achievements. As long as we can protect the lords, that’s worth more than anything."
Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "Yuan Hang, don’t think that way. We’re all equals here. If you achieve success in the future, it’ll reflect well on Tong Airui too. Don’t end up like Qiu Hong—make sure you do your best!"
Yuan Hang nodded, still smiling.
"This matter—I’ll talk to Uncle Eight when we’re back. You both don’t worry about it." Yi Luowa glanced at the time and muttered, "When we weren’t heading back, I didn’t miss the kids that much. But now that we’re almost there, I can’t stop thinking about them."
Tong Airui smirked. "When will you ever miss me so much it drives you crazy?"
"When you’re gone for a few days, I already go crazy." Yi Luowa shot him a scornful look. "You’re even jealous of the kids! Those three of ours already cut you enough slack by not clinging to us too much."
"I agree. Ziyan and the other two are much better than the one at my house. If we even lose sight of Kou’er for a moment, he wails like crazy."
Tong Airui glanced at him. "Have you changed the kid’s name yet?"
Yuan Hang immediately fell silent.
Tong Airui gave him another look. "Still not changed?"
Yuan Hang smiled sheepishly. "It’s just a placeholder name. Let’s not change it."
"I told you to change it, so you better change it. If you don’t do it within a week, I’ll do it myself—and while I’m at it, I’ll change yours as well."
Yuan Hang quickly waved his hands. "Please, no! I’ll do it myself."
Yi Luowa chuckled and said, "You really are something—secretly registering the kid under a rogue name, and now you’re getting scolded. Serves you right!"
Yuan Hang shook his head in resignation. "Stop making it worse for me. I just blurted it out. When someone asked me what the kid’s name was, I said Tong Siming."
Tong Airui glared at him. "You and Kou’er taking my mother’s surname from country Z was already acceptable—but the child’s name must be changed back. In the future, make sure to give him the same attention and care as Ziyan and the others."
Yuan Hang’s eyes turned slightly red, and he quickly lowered his head. "Meeting masters like you and Yi Luowa is the greatest blessing for Kou’er and me."
Yi Luowa playfully kicked his shoe. "Alright, enough of that! You’re a grown man—don’t start tearing up. And in the future, stop calling us masters. Tong Airui and I have always thought of you as a brother."
"I know, I know..." Yuan Hang choked back his emotions and turned his face to look out the window.
Yi Luowa sneaked a tug on Tong Airui’s sleeve.
Tong Airui shook his head. "Such a softie. Leave him be!"
Yuan Hang suddenly burst out laughing. "Nangong Siming—it does sound better than Tong Siming."
"Finally seeing sense!" Tong Airui smiled wryly, pulling Yi Luowa into his arms. "Get some rest. I’ll wake you when we arrive."
"Mhm." Yi Luowa closed her eyes, leaning against his chest.
Half an hour later, their plane crossed paths with the ones Mi Chenxuan had sent, and only then did Tong Airui close his eyes in peace.
Atop Ju Ying Mountain, a man was watching six roaring planes overhead with a night vision scope. He sighed helplessly.
The man took out his phone, hesitated for a moment, then dialed a number. "Sir, the men we sent to the Saha Grasslands are already dead."
"If they can’t be killed there, take them out on the way back," came an icy, hellish voice from the phone.
"Sir, they have five fighter jets escorting them. In the air, we have no advantage. Ground assaults are also unlikely to succeed. After losing so many men, we can’t afford more casualties..."
The voice on the other end fell silent for a long time before speaking in a low tone, "All units withdraw to the Bagan Base. Go silent! Await further instructions!"
"Yes!" The man let out a long sigh of relief only after the call disconnected.
At 1 a.m., Yi Luowa’s group safely arrived in Haotian.
Emperor Haotian and Queen Haotian’s faces only lightened up slightly upon seeing their daughter and son-in-law return safely.
Long Che looked at his son with a stern expression. "You’re not a kid anymore. How could you still do something so reckless?"
Tong Airui offered an apologetic smile. "Dad, it’s my fault. From now on, we’ll make sure to have people with us when we go out."
"If you want us old folks to live a few more years, then do as you say!" Long Che snorted coldly, grabbed Tong Yao by the hand, and left.
Yi Luowa stuck out her tongue. "Sorry, Dad, Mom. We promise not to do this again in the future."
Tong Yao glanced at her. "Don’t indulge Rui’er in everything. You’ll only spoil him."
"Oh." Yi Luowa responded softly, staring at her shoe tips. Once her in-laws disappeared into their rooms, she reached out and gave Tong Airui’s waist a hard pinch.
Tong Airui winced in pain.
The Haotian Queen couldn’t help laughing, "Enough, both of you. Go get some rest."
Yi Luowa grinned. "Mom, you and Dad go rest. Where are the kids? I want to go check on them."
The Queen shot her a look. "Two are in your mother-in-law’s room, and one is in Danton’s room. Don’t go fussing over them—they’ll be fine for one night after being gone just seven days."
Yi Luowa pouted. "Why do I sense a tone of reproach?"
The Queen crooked her finger playfully. "I’m not reproaching you—I’m just mad! Come here and let me slap you; otherwise, I won’t sleep tonight."
The Queen’s expression was mischievous like a child’s. Tong Airui caught a glimpse and quickly looked away.
Emperor Haotian noticed his gesture, pulled on his wife’s sleeve, and whispered something to her.
The Queen frowned in confusion, only to catch his hint and immediately adjusted her posture, regaining her regal composure. She cleared her throat. "Alright, everyone, go rest."
"Goodnight, Mom!" Yi Luowa hugged her mother tightly, planting a big kiss on her cheek.
Emperor Haotian playfully pouted.
Yi Luowa laughed and gave her father a quick peck. "Goodnight, Dad!"
Fourth Master looked on and silently fumed with jealousy.
"You...! What am I going to do with you?" Emperor Haotian finally smiled contentedly, helping his wife back to their bedroom.
With the hall empty, Yi Luowa beamed and turned to Tong Airui.
Fourth Master glanced at her but quickly turned his head away.
Yi Luowa pouted, took hold of his face, and stood on tiptoe to gently bite his jaw.
Tong Airui frowned. "What are you doing?"
Yi Luowa eased her bite slightly and mumbled, "Biting expresses deep love."
Tong Airui laughed and scooped her up. "Well, I love you more than you love me. Just wait—I’ll show you how I bite!"
No one knew how Fourth Master bit her. The next morning, Yi Luowa was wearing a scarf when she got up.
Yi Luowa, scarf around her neck, knocked on Danton’s door. Ruan Anyang peeked out, her face lighting up in surprise. "Sister Luowa, you’re back!"
Yi Luowa paused. Why was this girl in Danton’s room again? But seeing her in casual attire, Yi Luowa felt relieved.
Ruan Anyang rubbed her eyes. "Sister Luowa, last night Zixi was fussing about wanting you. I tried to soothe him, but he didn’t sleep, and I ended up falling asleep instead."
Yi Luowa chuckled. This little girl was even learning to explain herself. "Is Zixi still asleep?"
"Yeah, he and Danton stayed up late. They’re both still sleeping..."
"Is that my sister back?" came Danton’s voice from the room.
Ruan Anyang looked back. "Yeah, Sister Luowa’s back."
Danton climbed out of bed. "Then stop blocking the door. Let her in. She’s probably here to see Zixi."
Ruan Anyang pouted, then quickly opened the door wide. "Come in, Sister Luowa."
Yi Luowa laughed and pinched her cheek. "Go nap some more."
"Okay." Ruan Anran scratched her head, trailing behind Yi Luowa. Seeing Yi Luowa focus on Zixi, she flopped onto the couch without a second thought.
Yi Luowa glanced back at her.
Danton smiled wryly. "Sis, just pretend she’s not here."
