Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 818 - 683: Where to Next? (Second Update)
"Haha..." Ai Ni laughed and slapped You Jia’s thigh, "Brother, don’t leave this time. With you here, I have a backing."
Yi Luowa laughed, "With you siblings together, even good people could be driven crazy by you two!" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
You Jia smiled gently, "Brother, where are you and sister-in-law going next?"
Tong Airui glanced at him, "I haven’t even set foot in the palace yet, and you want to kick me out?"
You Jia panicked, "Brother, I didn’t mean it like that."
Yi Luowa exclaimed angrily, "Tong Airui, stop teaming up with Ai Ni to bully You Jia. Has You Jia had an easy time these years?"
You Jia looked gratefully at Yi Luowa.
Tong Airui chuckled, "I’m only teasing him to show others. I want those peering into our family’s affairs to back off!"
Yi Luowa shook her head helplessly, her daughter was only seven, wasn’t he thinking too far ahead!
The car entered the palace, and Tong Airui immediately transformed, becoming so proper that Ai Ni and Yi Luowa almost burst out laughing.
The four got out of the car, and the officials of country S, led by Carlos, came out to greet them.
After exchanging greetings with them like a gentleman, Tong Airui entered the great hall with Yi Luowa, hand in hand.
In the great hall, after Tong Airui and the accompanying officials were seated, Carlos spoke first. Yi Luowa listened with a constant smile, and only after a relatively short speech was over did she realize her face was stiff.
Tong Airui noticed her secretly massaging her face and held her hand tenderly.
Finally reaching lunchtime, Tong Airui whispered in her ear, "Just be yourself, there’s no need to keep smiling at them."
Yi Luowa pouted, "I saw on TV that both our moms do this. It’s fine, I’ll practice slowly and adapt quickly."
Tong Airui smiled helplessly.
Everyone had lunch together, You Jia arranged for the officials from Xiawu to go to the hotel, while Tong Airui and Yi Luowa stayed in the palace. Yi Luowa entered the sleeping hall, climbed onto the bed as soon as the outsiders left, thinking how her feet had suffered all morning. Who invented high heels anyway, it’s such a torture!
Tong Airui stroked her head, "You barely slept yesterday, why not take a nap?"
"I’m waiting for Ai Ni, when she comes, I’ll sleep with her." Yi Luowa pointed to the side hall, "You go rest there."
"I’m not sleeping, I noticed you and Ai Ni didn’t eat much for lunch, so I’ll go to the kitchen and make you two some crawfish. Anything else you’d like? I can make something else for you."
"I knew my brother takes the best care of me!" Ai Ni entered wearing loungewear.
Tong Airui helped his sister to the bed, "You and your sister-in-law rest on the bed, and let someone take me to the kitchen."
Ai Ni removed her shoes and got onto the bed, "Let You Jia take you later. Brother, teach him, so when he learns, he can make it for me."
Tong Airui smirked, "I really don’t enjoy teaching slow learners."
You Jia could hear everything from the doorway.
Seeing You Jia come in, Yi Luowa quickly sat up.
Tong Airui glanced at his wife and, without letting You Jia speak, dragged him out the door.
Ai Ni laughed, "Sister-in-law, you should lie down and rest. Didn’t you see my brother’s glare? Just because You Jia interrupted your rest, he looked like he was going to eat up our You Jia."
"Thank goodness your You Jia has a good temperament. You know, they’re all in their thirties and still bully him." Yi Luowa smiled helplessly and lay down beside Ai Ni.
"Anyone marrying our family’s daughters has to endure it. Doesn’t your brother-in-law get bullied every day too? You Jia is already used to it; he doesn’t get angry." Ai Ni covered her with a quilt, "I’ve arranged for the servants to make you some food, it’ll be here soon. Sister-in-law, this won’t do. You’re not eating enough here, and if you go to other countries, you might starve!"
"I’m just not feeling hungry."
Ai Ni’s eyes dimmed slightly, "You have to slowly adapt to these days. I once left Dylan, just like you, but over time, I got used to it. Luckily, they are all grown up now... Sister-in-law, maybe I should call mom and ask them to come back."
Yi Luowa shook her head, "Don’t call, this time everyone’s together, let them enjoy themselves. Grandpa, grandma, and our grandparents, they’re not young anymore. After this trip, who knows if there will be another one."
Ai Ni sniffed, "Sister-in-law, I’m scared when people mention this. You probably haven’t seen grandpa lately, right? He hasn’t been in good spirits."
Yi Luowa comforted her, "It’s okay, once they enjoy the trip, everything will be fine once they’re back."
Ai Ni nodded, "I hope it’s like you say. Sister-in-law, where are you going next?"
"We were supposed to visit my sister first, but then we heard you were pregnant, so we came here. Your brother said we’d visit my sister after this."
"I want to go with you guys too."
"Stay at home and take care of the pregnancy. After you give birth, you can go out. By the way, is Lu Jia’s wife getting along well with you?"
"It’s okay, but there are really few people as harmonious and genuine as our family."
"Treat others as you want to be treated. If you treat her well, she’ll naturally treat you well too. Like when I first came to your family, you were all so kind to me. If I didn’t treat you well in return, would I still be human?"
"Ah... that’s because you’re kind-hearted. Some people are just ungrateful, no matter how much you feed them. When you travel abroad with my brother, be more cautious. Not everyone is like our family."
"Got it. Since I had the baby, Dad and Mom rarely travel abroad. I don’t think your brother and I will go out that often either."
"That’s because Dad doesn’t want to go out; he handed everything over to Mu Ta. Dad can avoid it, but my brother can’t. After all, he’s young and can’t send the elders out frequently."
Yi Luowa blinked, "Dad has sacrificed a lot for Sangyu."
"Let him do what he likes." Ai Ni stretched lazily, "You must be tired too. Take a nap. By the time my brother’s done, it’ll practically be nighttime."
"No way, he cooks quite fast."
"My brother is really great!" Ai Ni turned her head to look at Yi Luowa, smiling, "Sister-in-law, don’t you feel like you hit the jackpot?"
"I did hit the jackpot. How about you? Didn’t you as well? Look how good You Jia is to you."
"He’s a nice guy, smoothing things over between me and his mom, not having a firm stance at all."
"Even the best judges find it hard to settle family disputes. It’s not easy for him either."
"It’s because I see it’s hard for him that I just turn a blind eye. Otherwise, with my temper..."
"Shh—" Yi Luowa gestured for silence, "Someone’s coming."
Ai Ni listened closely, "Just the servants."
"Then I won’t get up."
"If you’re not hungry, take a nap. I will too," Ai Ni said, sniffing the air, "This smell is so familiar."
Yi Luowa laughed, "It’s probably ready."
Ai Ni threw off the covers and got out of bed, "Finally, we can eat."
A servant came in bearing two large trays of crayfish. Tong Airui and You Jia quickly followed, carrying meal boxes in their hands. Ai Ni glanced at them and pouted, "You Jia, why are you making my brother carry things?"
"That’s what he made for Sister-in-law, he doesn’t trust anyone else with it."
Ai Ni glanced at the meal box You Jia was holding, "Did you make what’s in your hands?"
"I learned it from my brother, just for you."
"Why did you suddenly become so well-behaved?"
"With a great role model like my brother, I better shape up or I’m afraid you’ll leave me."
Tong Airui chuckled, putting down the meal box and walking to the bedside, "Honey, get up and eat something before going back to sleep."
"I’m not hungry."
"I have some good news, which will definitely make you hungry." Tong Airui smiled, ruffling her hair, "Dad and Mom can be back in Xiawu early tomorrow."
Yi Luowa suddenly sat up, "Why are Dad and Mom coming back?"
"They’re more worried about the child than we are. How could they not come back?"
Yi Luowa asked worriedly, "What about Grandpa and Grandma? Are they coming back too?"
"No, just Dad and Mom. Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt are still out having fun. Once we go back, they’ll rejoin them."
"It’s really hard on Mom and Dad. Didn’t you tell them we’ve got everything arranged? We should avoid disturbing them if we can."
"I told them, but it didn’t work."
"Brother, you didn’t mention my pregnancy to Mom and Dad, did you?" Ai Ni grabbed for a crayfish to eat.
You Jia quickly stopped her hand, "Go wash your hands first; I’ll peel it for you."
The brother-in-law was doing quite well, and Tong Airui happily smiled, "I didn’t tell them. If they knew, Grandpa would know, and that would be chaotic."
"Brother, you’re quite clever! Grandpa has worried so much about me over the years. This time, let’s keep him in the dark and let him enjoy his time out there." Ai Ni said as she walked into the bathroom.
