Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 836 - 697: The Three of Us Hugged and Cried Together (Third Update)
"If you all can’t bear to be apart from me, and I can’t bear to be apart from you, then staying together for a lifetime is even better." Sangyu turned over and looked at Yi Luowa, "Mom, do you think I’m right?"
"You’re right! But who knows what will happen in the future." Yi Luowa lovingly touched her daughter’s small face, "Did Grandpa say when he’s going to visit Aunt?"
"He didn’t say." Sangyu pouted her small lips, "Our family can never be all together, it’s no fun."
"That’s just how it is, adults have things they need to do. And your grandparents, they’ve worked hard all their lives, now they finally have some free time, and we can’t hold them back."
"Yes, when Grandpa and Grandma leave, we won’t cry." Ziyan said with a grin, "When Mom and Dad left, we just stood on the balcony watching you both, we didn’t cry at all."
"We cried!" Zixi crawled over, "Brother, you forgot, when no one was around, the three of us hugged each other and cried."
Ziyan looked at his younger brother with displeasure, "Can’t you say something to make Mom and Dad happy?"
"But I can’t lie!"
"Am I wrong then?"
"You were wrong in the first place!"
Tong Airui helplessly smiled, "I’ll give you one minute, lie down, we’re going to rest."
The three children quickly lay down.
Yi Luowa looked at the three little ones lying between her and Tong Airui and smiled contentedly, "I’ve been thinking about this moment for a month."
"We’ve been thinking about it for ten thousand years!" Zixi put his little leg on his brother’s belly, mumblingly said, "I can’t sleep again."
"If you can’t sleep, don’t bother your brother, or he won’t be able to sleep." Sangyu reached out and pushed Zixi’s leg.
Zixi snorted, "If you let me lie next to Mom, I won’t bother Brother."
"Then come over, I just love to sleep in the middle." Sangyu pretended to get up.
Zixi looked left and right, shaking his short little legs and said, "Never mind, I won’t switch."
Sangyu gently curled the corner of her lips, turned over and hugged her mom’s neck, whispering, "Mom, do you think my brother is silly?"
Yi Luowa laughed and pinched her nose, "Keep your voice down, if he hears, he’ll cause a ruckus again."
Zixi perked up his ears to listen and then pouted, "What are you saying?"
"Nothing, just sleep." Sangyu winked at her mom.
"Yes, sleep, everyone sleep." Yi Luowa stroked Zixi’s little face, "Let’s have a race to see who falls asleep the quickest."
Zixi immediately closed his eyes, "I’m asleep."
"Childish!" Ziyan smacked his little butt, "Do you need me to sing you a lullaby?"
"Mom’s back, no need for your singing." Zixi pouted his little butt, "I’m asleep, don’t talk to me."
Yi Luowa lulled the three children to sleep, propping her head up to look at Tong Airui.
Tong Airui asked quietly, "Going out?"
"Yes, you sleep for a while, I’ll go chat with Mom." Yi Luowa turned up the air conditioning by two degrees, covered the kids with a blanket, and then quietly got out of bed.
Tong Airui sat up, "I can’t sleep anyway, I’ll go sit with Dad for a bit."
Yi Luowa glanced back at the three children, then followed Tong Airui out the door.
Queen Haotian and Tong Yao were sitting in the hall chatting, and when they saw them coming out, Queen Haotian smiled and asked, "Those three little ones are asleep?"
"Asleep." Yi Luowa sat next to her mother, "Mom, where’s Dad?"
"He said he’s bored, so he’s in the study playing chess."
Tong Airui smiled, "I’ll go take a look."
Queen Haotian chuckled, "Go on, just in time to be their referee."
Once Tong Airui left, Yi Luowa smiled and looked at her mother, "Mom, what time does An Yang get off work?"
"It’s her first day today, not sure what time she gets off. She knew you were coming back and didn’t want to go this morning, but I thought it’s not good not to report on the first day, so I didn’t let her stay. As she left, she was upset with me."
Yi Luowa laughed, "Quite bold, daring to be upset with you."
"She wasn’t really upset, just pouted and left."
Yi Luowa smiled at her mom, "The daughter-in-law isn’t even officially part of the family yet, and you’re already defending her."
"Your mother-in-law defends you more fiercely, we don’t dare say a bad word about you."
Tong Yao laughed, "My daughter-in-law is good in every way, even if you wanted to find fault, you wouldn’t be able to."
Queen Haotian smiled helplessly, "See, I didn’t even mention it, and I’m already being silenced."
Yi Luowa smiled and asked, "By the way, Mom, have you discussed it with Aunt Shui Hui and the others?"
"Discuss what?"
"Danton and An Yang’s marriage!"
"I was just talking to your mother-in-law about this. I want to get it over with early, but Danton and An Yang both disagree."
Yi Luowa was puzzled, "What’s their reasoning?"
"They’re worried that getting married means the inheritance of the throne. Queen Haotian sighed, "It’s partly your father’s fault too, for jumping the gun."
"What did my dad say?"
"Your dad said Danton should inherit the throne right away. Danton thought it was too soon and said he would do it after marriage. So, we started arranging for their wedding, but then both of them started saying An Yang wants to go to graduate school, and then get a doctorate. If she got married, it would affect her studies, so it’s clearly an excuse not to get married."
"This is indeed my dad’s fault, announcing it too early!"
"Sigh... let’s just wait and see. Once she finishes her PhD, there won’t be any degrees left to pursue."
Tong Yao laughed, "After the PhD, there’s still post-doctorate studies. In medicine, learning is endless, and even after a post-doctorate, there’s various further training."
Yi Luowa smiled and said, "I think, Mom, you and Dad shouldn’t push them too hard."
"Sigh, I don’t want to pressure them either, but your dad gets impatient seeing your father-in-law retired."
Tong Yao smiled helplessly, "Long Che sure upset quite a few of the younger generation this time."
"Mom, don’t overthink it. I made a round with a few uncles, and none of their successors complained. Everyone understands that your generation worked hard for most of your lives, and you deserve a good rest."
"If only everyone thought like you. Luowa, your dad and I won’t be gone for long, we’ll be back by the Mid-Autumn Festival."
"Coming back so soon? There are still so many places you haven’t visited, right?"
"Traveling for too long all at once, we miss the kids. Besides, your grandparent’s health isn’t suitable for traveling in winter. We’ve agreed that from now on, we’ll travel in the summer, and stay home the rest of the time, so we won’t get too tired."
Yi Luowa agreed with a nod, "That’s quite good."
Queen Haotian chided playfully, "You always think everything is ’good’! Your in-laws are doing this all for you. They worry you’ll get too tired with three kids, so they made this decision."
Yi Luowa pouted, "How could I not know? I just keep my gratitude towards my mom tucked away in my heart."
"Such sweet talk!" Queen Haotian laughed helplessly.
"Sis, you’re back!" A cheerful voice from outside announced Ruan An Yang’s return.
Yi Luowa greeted her with a smile, "An Yang, was your first day at work exhausting?"
"I’m dead tired, still confused, don’t know much. My mentor asked me to write a medical record, and since I didn’t know how, I copied someone else’s and wrote one up." Ruan An Yang pouted and hugged Yi Luowa’s arm.
"And it turned out wrong, right?" Yi Luowa teased, poking her forehead.
"Hahaha... you guessed it! Let me tell you, their medical record was for an old lady, my case was a young girl. I didn’t think much and just copied ’slightly swollen lower abdomen.’ My mentor asked me, ’Did you examine the patient? She’s a teenager, and you wrote slightly swollen lower abdomen!’"
"Haha, you’ve got talent!"
Ruan An Yang pouted, "Well, what can I do if he doesn’t teach me and just asks me to write?"
"Now you’re justified!" Yi Luowa jokingly glared at her, "I heard you’re aiming for graduate and doctoral studies. With skills like this, you can’t even write a medical record, how do you plan to tackle advanced studies?"
"If I don’t pass in one year, I’ll try for two, three... By the time I’m thirty, I’ll surely succeed!"
Queen Haotian and Tong Yao exchanged a glance and smiled wryly.
Yi Luowa patted Ruan An Yang’s hand, "You must have planned this out with Danton a long time ago, right?"
"You can even figure that out?"
Yi Luowa laughed, pointing to her eyes, "Your eyes, right here, are full of scheming!"
Ruan An Yang covered her mouth with a giggle, "Hehe... Sister, don’t say that, or Auntie will give me a hard time."
"Always with your little schemes!" Queen Haotian glanced at her, "Before you turn twenty-five, if you pass, I’ll let you study forever. If not, you and Danton get married quickly!"
Ruan An Yang pouted, "Got it!"
