Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 842 - 701: I Will Close My Eyes One Minute After You
Yi Luowa laughed and said, "I also thought I’d just sit for a few minutes, then uncle would let me out, but he forgot about me."
Royce smiled helplessly, "Your uncle gets very engrossed when he’s happy. Seeing them so engaged, I didn’t have the heart to interrupt. You guys chat a bit, I’ll go see how the preparations in the kitchen are coming along."
Kasha saw her mother-in-law getting up to leave and quickly stood up, "Mom, I’ll go. You stay and chat with Luowa."
Dean smiled, "I should be the one to go, but I have something to say to Luowa, so I’ll trouble you, sister-in-law."
Kasha playfully gave her a look, "No difference whether it’s you or me going. No need to be so formal with me."
Dean stuck out her tongue playfully, then once Kasha had left, she smiled at Yi Luowa, "Luowa, I’ve spoken to my brother about Mr. Yi’s situation, and he agreed right away to help. He just called me, saying it’s not a big issue, just hyped by the media, and he’ll step in to intervene.
Right now, my brother should be at the palace discussing follow-up issues with Mr. Yi. From what I gathered, it seems that recalling the problematic batch of cars would suffice. But if they do get recalled, wouldn’t that cost a lot? If it costs too much, I would feel guilty."
"Thank you, dear. A recall is actually the best solution. Just replacing the brake pads doesn’t cost much, and at the very least, it shows our sincerity."
"Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease."
Yi Luowa smiled knowingly. This issue with her second uncle seemed to be on track. She just wasn’t sure about what the outcome would be on Old Seven’s side.
Yi Luowa was thinking about Micah when Shanshan called.
Yi Luowa smiled apologetically and took her mobile to the balcony.
As soon as she answered, Jimo Shanshan said, "Fourth sister-in-law, you’ve just returned. I’m really sorry to make you worry."
"We’re family, no need for such polite words. How are things going on your end?"
"We have already reported it to the police."
Yi Luowa was taken aback, "Reported to the police?"
"Yes, someone broke into the blood bank and swapped the labels, causing this medical incident. Uncle said this is already a criminal case, so we should report it. After we find out the results, we’ll discuss the follow-up."
"Do you all need to stay there and wait for the news?"
"No, this isn’t a medical incident; it’s a deliberate murder. Our hospital doesn’t need to bear any responsibility, but I still feel somewhat guilty. I want to give some money to the deceased’s family."
Yi Luowa paused for a moment, "Shanshan, listen to me, don’t give them money now, otherwise it gets complicated. If you decide to, wait until the case is resolved before doing so."
"Fourth sister-in-law, you and Micah have the same opinion, so I’ll take your advice. We’ll catch a flight back shortly; we should be home by midnight."
"Okay, once you’re back, come stay with us. That way, when Pengpeng wakes up, he can see you both. He’ll definitely be happy."
"There are many people at home, and we’ll get back late, so let’s not disturb everyone. We’ll get up early and have breakfast at your place."
"Alright, send me a text once you’re home."
Hearing Jimo Shanshan’s response, Yi Luowa finally put down her phone.
Seeing her looking heavy-hearted, Dean asked, puzzled, "Luowa, what’s wrong?"
Yi Luowa sighed, "Nothing, really. I just got off the phone with Shanshan. My chest feels a bit heavy. We’re spending less and less time together."
"Where has Shanshan gone?"
"Back to her parents’ house."
Royce smiled and said, "Everyone’s busy striving when they’re young, so naturally, time together is limited. When you’re our age, you’ll have plenty of time to be together again."
Yi Luowa shook her head helplessly, "That’s all I can comfort myself with right now."
Dean playfully tapped her mother-in-law’s arm, "Mom, did you notice? Ever since Luowa went out, she’s turned into a little old lady..."
Royce chuckled and patted her hand, "Where does she look like an old lady? Luowa has just become more composed."
"She may be more composed, but didn’t you notice she’s been sighing like an old lady sitting there?"
"There’s been so much going on. Coming back to a bit of a mess in the family, it’s understandable to feel a bit blue."
Yi Luowa looked up at the two of them and smiled, "I’m sorry for letting you see me like this."
Royce sighed, "Luowa, I’ve always treated you and Airui as my own niece and nephew. There’s no outsider here; if there’s anything troubling you, just say it. If I can help you, I will."
Yi Luowa smiled gratefully, "Aunt, Dean has already helped me with my only concern, so I really don’t have anything else. Maybe I’m just tired."
"If you’re tired, rest more. After dinner, you and Airui should go back," Royce said as she glanced toward the door, "I wonder why Kasha isn’t back yet."
Just as she finished speaking, Kasha came in with a smile, "Mom, the food is ready; we’re just waiting for everyone to come."
Royce smiled and said, "Luowa, let’s go eat, and then you can return early to rest."
Yi Luowa followed the three of them out with a smile.
Royce was true to her word. After dinner, she didn’t keep them any longer and personally saw them off to the car.
Yi Luowa rolled down the car window and waved to Royce and the others.
As the car left the palace, Yi Luowa leaned tiredly against Tong Airui, "Honey, my acting skills are still not up to par."
Tong Airui stroked her cheek with a smile, "With Muta’s family, there’s no need to act. The more genuine, the more adorable."
"Sigh...if you want me to act, I can’t do it anymore. Dean’s brother has intervened on second uncle’s side, and on Old Seven’s side, they’ve reported to the police..." Yi Luowa relayed what Shanshan had told her to Tong Airui.
Tong Airui frowned slightly, "At least these two things are moving toward a resolution, so I can focus fully on dealing with the Baggan base. Honey, I have to thank you for giving me the time I need."
Yi Luowa chuckled bitterly, "All I can do is use your name to ask people for help."
"Your reputation is much bigger than mine now. I heard someone say the other day that when Madam Luowa stamps her foot, the entire Fang Yao Continent wobbles."
Yi Luowa laughed, "That’s definitely something you said!"
"Whoever said it, the fact remains that my wife now wields that influence."
Yi Luowa laughed helplessly, "If I had that influence, I would first strive for world peace. Honey, I’ve been distracted this afternoon, thinking about Old Eight and Youyou. They’re going to be alright, aren’t they?"
Tong Airui reassured her confidently, "They won’t be!"
"That’s good to hear. But you sent both of them off together..."
"To grow quickly, they have to go out and experience things. When I was young, that’s how I made my way up leisurely."
Yi Luowa suddenly looked up at him.
Tong Airui felt a bit uneasy under her gaze, "Did I say something wrong?"
Yi Luowa squeezed his face, "Why did your tone just then sound so much like an old man? But your skin still feels elastic to the touch."
Tong Airui chuckled and gave her a light smack on her butt, "If it weren’t elastic, I’d be a mummy!"
"Honey, I don’t want you to age!" Yi Luowa hooked her arms around his neck and stared intently at him.
Tong Airui kissed her forehead, "Don’t worry, no matter who leaves you, I won’t. I’ll stay with you and grow old together, and on the day I finally go to paradise, I’ll close my eyes a minute later than you will. Would that put your mind at ease?"
