Chapter 2364: After Story 3. Family

"Weren't you an annoying beast or something?" Noah asked while a massive creature pushed on his open palm but remained unable to make him budge. 1

The creature was immense. It was far bigger than the black landmass created for the final battle. It had the head of a bird and a curved beak, but dark scales covered its body. Its four legs even had long, sharp claws, and its long tail featured intricate spikes that released poisonous substances.

The beast's aura could make the void bend, but its entire power seemed unable to push Noah away. His figure was hard to spot from behind that colossal beak, but size didn't matter in that situation.

"Ancestral beast!" The creature corrected through a shaking roar. "You are standing before Slagtaur, devourer of stars and apex predator of the void."

"Technically, I'm sitting,” Noah pointed out since he was floating cross-legged.

Slagtaur launched an angry cry as it left Noah's palm and retreated to put enough space between the two. Still, its tail soon cracked into the void, generating enough momentum to turn its massive figure into nothing more than a blur.

The giant body reappeared when it crashed on Noah's open hand, and the impact generated so much power that tremors stretched far past what the beast could sense. The void shook, but Noah remained perfectly still.

"Disappointing," Noah sighed as he tapped on the beak to release part of his destruction.

Energy that Slagtaur couldn't hope to oppose entered its body and made a mess of its insides. Organs shut down, tissues exploded, and internal bleeding happened everywhere as Noah's destruction spread. The damage was so vast and serious that the hibernation stepped in on its own.

Slagtaur began to hover in the void, and Noah teleported to the center of its back. A simple pulling gesture removed one of the giant scales and put it in his hand. The body part wasn't bad, but it couldn't match his physical strength.

"This one survived," June commented as she floated above Noah. She was basically lying in the void with her arms behind her neck, and a peaceful expression filled her face.

"It's an ancestral beast or something," Noah stated while taking a bite off the scale.

"It looks like a normal magical beast," June pointed out while glancing at the giant body under her, "A giant magical beast in the tenth rank."

"It also tastes like a magical beast," Noah said among his munching.

June lost interest in the creature, but she still descended to lay her head on Noah's lap. He reached for her hair, and his piercing gaze eventually fell on her peaceful face.

"You’ve become strangely quiet since your breakthrough," Noah joked, knowing full well why June's behavior had changed.

"I've simply accepted that sticking with you is a battlefield in itself," June snorted. 'You are bound to start a war sooner or later."

"It won't happen if the universe keeps throwing these weaklings at us," Noah cursed.

"I'm sure your ability to create a mess will lead us into a crowded area," June responded.

"It can't happen soon enough," Noah said, wearing a teasing smile. "Though that system of stars was a nice finding."

"It did allow me to reach the tenth rank," June agreed, pretending not to know where Noah was going. Still, her eyes had already opened to show her increasing passion.

"I was thinking about the aftermath," Noah teased. "Those seventy-two stars had no chance."

'Tve been far from quiet back then," June stated as she straightened her back to sit on Noah's lap. "Care to remind me what I said?"

Noah and June fell into their personal world. Their faces grew closer, and noises of growls and lightning bolts even began to echo from their bodies. Their increasing passion became a threat that forced Slagtaur to exit its hibernation, and some confusion soon replaced its dizziness when it reviewed what it had heard during its unconscious state.

"Seventy-two stars?" Slagtaur cried in confusion. "Isn't that Lord Purple Void's home?"

Noah and June had been on the verge of getting busy, but Slagtaur's sudden awakening attracted their attention. The couple turned toward its head, and Noah couldn't help but ask a simple question. "Who is Lord Purple Void?"

"He is a powerful overlord in the nearby quadrant," Slagtaur explained through its strange cry. "His army is as numerous as the stars in the void. No one dares to challenge him. Even I stay away since killing so many ants would be too much of a hassle."

June's eyes lit up in excitement, but Noah promptly patted her head. He knew what she wanted to say, and his action only delayed the inevitable.

"You didn't take long to make an enemy," June joked.

"Are you surprised?" Noah wondered.

"I expected nothing less from you," June giggled. "Go and find me even more battles."

"I remember you using those stars to temper your body," Noah uttered.

"I think you liked the spectacle," June whispered. "Do you want a reminder?"

Noah and June fell prey to each other's gaze again, but Slagtaur didn't let them have that privacy.

"Did you destroy Lord Purple Void's home?!" Slagtaur exclaimed. "Wait, what are

you doing on my back?"

"He should have put better defenses," June snorted while turning to face Noah in the hope of continuing from where they had left.

"I wanted to try one of your scales," Noah explained while waving the huge scale in his right hand. Slagtaur was still drowsy, but the sight of the bite mark on its body part woke it up completely.

"How did you-?" Slagtaur gasped. "I forged my scales in the heart of a star for eras! How did you break it?!"

"Don't worry," Noah reassured. "It's not that tasty. I'll leave the others be."

"He won't," June said before shooting one of her intense glances at Noah, and he immediately let go of the broken scale to focus on her. Yet, Slagtaur didn't let them be alone.

"I'll make you pay!" Slagtaur roared. "You'll face the wrath of the strongest being in the tenth rank!"

Slagtaur opened its beak, and a poisonous gas came out of it. That purple smoke expanded across its back and threatened to engulf Noah and June, but a lightning bolt suddenly flew through it and exploded inside the creature's throat.

"Not that peaceful anymore, are you?" Noah chuckled when June showed her annoyed expression.

"You like me when I'm not," June joked, but the tremor that ran through the immense body forced the couple to look at Slagtaur's head again.

"You ants’’ Slagtaur cried while spitting black smoke. "I am Slagtaur, supreme traveler of the void and lord of this quadra-!"

Slagtaur didn't get the chance to finish its line since heavy pride suddenly filled the area and triggered its survival instinct. A draconic roar even resounded through the void and enhanced that suffocating feeling.

The ancestral beast dropped its pride to give a proper look at the couple. Noah and June didn't seem special, but their presence had changed after the many interruptions. Something told Slagtaur that its life would end if it kept insulting them.

Of course, Noah’s pride played an essential role in those sensations. Slagtaur's species made it impossible to refuse his superiority. Its instincts revealed its spot in the food chain.

"I'm Slagta-!" Slagtaur began to repeat in confusion. The sudden realization and the injuries had made a mess of its thoughts, but its previous words attracted Noah's attention.

“Did you say traveler of the void?" Noah interrupted without retracting his pride.

"Y-yes?" Slagtaur could only agree under that pressure.

"So, you must know where the powerful people live!" Noah exclaimed. "Good. Bring us there."

A wave of anger engulfed Slagtaur and made him temporarily ignore the warnings screamed bv its instincts.

"You dare take Slagtaur for a mere mount?! I will keep you alive for ages inside my stomach until you've learnt your lesson!"

The smoke coming from Slagtaur's throat didn't allow it to send another poisonous cloud, but its body remained an impressive weapon. The ancestral beast rotated its tail and tried to spin on itself to fend off the couple, but a black line suddenly ran throughout its body and opened a fissure that pierced the scaled armor.

The attack was so powerful that Slagtaur's violent momentum vanished. The astonishing development stunned the ancestral beast, especially since it didn't even see the arrival of the slash. It became clear that the couple could kill it on a whim.

"I-I'm Slagtaur," Slagtaur muttered while toning down its bestial voice. "How can I be of service?"

'That didn't take long," June commented.

"Are there powerful beings nearby?" Noah wondered. "More powerful than you, obviously."

"Lord Purple Void has an incredible army," Slagtaur described, "But his power is below mine. Bright Rainbow, Burning Second, Head of the thousand fools, and Scion of Madness might be good candidates."

"What do you think?" June asked, hoping Noah's nose for trouble would bring them toward a powerful opponent.

"Head of the thousand fools sounds nice," Noah smirked.

"Sounds just like our organization," June uttered.

"It does indeed," Noah laughed before addressing Slagtaur again. "Who is the strongest among them?"

"B-Bright Rainbow," Slagtaur replied.

"Bring us there," Noah ordered, and Slagtaur turned its head before going on its way. Its injuries were an annoying problem, but the healing process quickened as it grew used to Noah's leadership.

"Where were we?" Noah growled now that Slagtaur had given the couple some privacy.

June wore one of her knowing smiles, but a random thought interrupted her passionate mood. She diverted her gaze as she lost herself in that idea, and Noah didn't miss the event.

"I was thinking," June eventually announced. "We had an organization, but that time ended. We even accomplished our first goals. We have been free from Heaven and Earth's influence for millennia, and we both reached the tenth rank."

"June?" Noah called. He was beginning to guess June's idea, but she continued before he could think about it properly.

"We promised to be together in an endless journey," June continued. "It might be time to handle that other thing."

"Ooh," Noah understood. He knew June too well not to realize what she wanted. That actually was one of her oldest dreams and goals.

"I can create a fitting incubation chamber," Noah suggested. "I'll have to modify it along the way, but it's possible."

"I don't want it to be a project," June explained. "I want a natural birth, like a true family."

June had always been a battle maniac, but another desire had accompanied her on her journey. Her family had been far from kind to her, so she had promised herself that she would make a better one, and the time seemed to have arrived.

Countless calculations happened in Noah's mind. Procreating was problematic for divine beings, but they could resort to external methods to facilitate the process. The situation was no different in the realms past the cultivation journey. The event would be far from natural, but it would still create a proper child.

However, June wanted a natural birth, which forced Noah to consider many issues. Their respective rank would lower their fertility, but that could be fixed. The main problem was the stark difference between their existence, and Noah wasn't even thinking about his dragon traits. It was theoretically possible, but the chances were close to zero.

"It might take us millions of years," Noah declared. "It would be far easier to replicate what King Elbas and I did with Sepunia."

June took no offense in that comparison. Instead, she neared Noah's ear and whispered words that made his deepest instincts roar. "Don't you want me to carry your child?”

All the ideas that Noah's mental waves had generated in those seconds crumbled. He would only accept a natural birth now, and June giggled when she saw that decision on his face.

"Besides," June added while pushing Noah on the layer of scales to sit on him, "We have as much time as we want."

"Did you think about names already?" Noah questioned while June bent over to get near his lips.

"If he is a boy," June responded, "We have options. We lost many companions along the way, and I'm sure you have some favorites."

Noah could only agree, and names flew through his mind while the two exchanged a kiss. William, Ivor, Rufus, Wilfred, and many more resounded among his mental waves. He had to honor many valuable companions.

"What if she is a girl?" June whispered when the kiss ended.

"Lily," Noah said without showing any hesitation.®

June smiled. She had already predicted that decision, and she had nothing against it. "Lily Balvan. I like it. Let's make a girl."

"Lily Balvan," Noah repeated before letting his passion take over. "This shall be the first of millions of years."

Slagtaur believed that the danger had passed, but storms quickly formed on its back. Lightning bolts that could pierce its body from side to side and destructive

The beast could only hope to survive until the end of the trip.
