Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 92: The Dead Don’t Stay Dead: Maddy and Her Children Confront a Lich! — Part 7.
[System Notice]
[You have ingested multiple objects containing traits.]
Zombie
[Trait Acquired: Undead Endurance]
[Body continues functioning despite severe damage. Pain response is dulled, allowing continued movement and combat even when heavily injured.]
[Trait Acquired: Rotting Infection]
[Claws, bites, or bodily fluids carry necrotic bacteria and decay mana. Wounds inflicted on targets may slowly fester and weaken them over time.]
[Trait Acquired: Death Mana Tolerance]
[Body becomes resistant to harmful effects of death-aligned mana and decay environments such as graveyards or battlefields.]
[Trait Acquired: Persistent Animation]
[Even when critically damaged, the body can continue moving for a short period through residual death energy.]
[Trait Acquired: Corpse Feeder] 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
[Digestive system gains increased efficiency when consuming decaying flesh, corpses, or undead organisms.]
[Trait Acquired: Grave Rot Aura]
[The user emits a faint aura of decay that slowly weakens nearby living organisms, accelerating rot and fatigue.]
[Trait Acquired: Zombie Body Parts]
[You may now manifest any portion of the Zombies’ anatomy—arms, legs, or the entire physical form with perfect precision. These examples are not limiting; any part can be used.]
Skeleton Soldier
[Trait Acquired: Reinforced Bone Structure]
[Body develops hardened skeletal reinforcement, increasing resistance to physical damage and improving structural durability.]
[Trait Acquired: Bone Weapon Proficiency]
[Instinctive understanding of basic weapon handling derived from lingering martial memory within the bones. Improves efficiency when wielding simple weapons or bone-formed armaments.]
[Trait Acquired: Tireless Combat Motion]
[Body can continue attacking without fatigue, allowing sustained combat performance without stamina loss from muscle exhaustion.]
[Trait Acquired: Impact Resistance]
[Hardened bone structure reduces damage from blunt force and crushing attacks.]
[Trait Acquired: Skeleton Soldier Body Parts]
[You may now manifest any portion of the Skeleton Soldier’s anatomy—arms, legs, or the entire physical form with perfect precision. These examples are not limiting; any part can be used.]
Lich
[Trait Acquired: Undead Cognition]
[Improves strategic thinking and instinctive tactical decision-making. Allows the user to coordinate attacks or manipulate lesser undead.]
[Trait Acquired: Soul Vessel Awareness]
[Detects and interacts with soul bound objects or vessels. Grants insight into magical anchors, phylacteries, or similar constructs.]
[Trait Acquired: Necrotic Aura]
[Emits a subtle aura of weakening death energy. Nearby living creatures gradually lose stamina, suffer minor decay effects, or experience slowed healing.]
[Trait Acquired: Magical Regeneration]
[Body can regenerate using ambient death or arcane energy. Damage to physical tissue can be partially restored over time if sufficient mana is present.]
[Trait Acquired: Command Undead]
[Instinctively channels control over nearby undead, improving coordination, obedience, and attack efficiency of lesser necrotic entities.]
[Trait Acquired: Animate Undead]
[Allows the user to raise recently deceased creatures as obedient undead minions. Effectiveness, duration, and number of minions scale with the user’s strength and mastery of death mana. Raised undead retain basic abilities and characteristics of their original form.]
[Trait Acquired: Summon Undead]
[Channels concentrated death mana to summon skeletal or spectral servants from nearby remains or lingering spirits. Summoned undead instinctively follow the user’s commands in combat, defense, or reconnaissance.]
[Trait Acquired: Cancel Undead]
[Allows the user to immediately dispel undead they have created or summoned. The death mana sustaining the undead is withdrawn, causing the body or spirit to collapse and return to lifeless remains. Recovered mana may partially return to the user depending on the undead’s remaining integrity.]
[Trait Acquired: Dark Element (Advanced)]
[Grants superior affinity with Dark, allowing precise control, shaping, and intensification of element. Dark-based abilities become significantly stronger and more efficient, with greatly increased resistance to Dark aligned attacks.]
[Trait Acquired: Lich Body Parts]
[You may now manifest any portion of the Lich’s anatomy—arms, legs, or the entire physical form with perfect precision. These examples are not limiting; any part can be used.]
[Apply these traits to yourself, or store them?]
Maddy’s eyes scanned the scrolling text, her face cycling through awe, disgust, and a weirdly professional curiosity.
"Animate Undead... Command Undead..."
Those names alone made her feel queasy.
"Lucy... you’re telling me I can literally play Necromancer now?!"
She threw her hands up, incredulous.
"I’m a zoologist, a Mother! Not some puppet master of the damned! And Grave Rot Aura?!"
Her nose wrinkled violently.
"I’m going to need, like, a hundred magical deodorants just to survive this! Maybe even make them bathe fifty times a day in our hot springs, just to keep my children from smelling like a compost bin!"
Any gamer would flip seeing these traits, but to Maddy, they were just ingredients—tools to enhance her children. Anything that aligned with her morals wasn’t for her alone; it was for them too. She shuddered at the thought of the Lich’s body parts, yet her eyes lingered on Dark Element (Basic) and Undead Cognition.
"Actually... the strategic thinking is a plus... And Tireless Combat Motion? That’s basically the ultimate coffee replacement. Alright, Lucy, apply everything. But keep the ’Zombie, Skeleton, Lich Body’ stuff in the deepest, darkest folder of my trait storage. I am not manifesting rotting limbs! And of course, store those traits that make me smell like dead meat too!"
[Response: By your command... applying all ingested traits directly to your body except the body parts and those that make you smell like an undead.]
Initializing...
Poof!
[Done.]
Maddy flexed, feeling the changes in her body, making sure she still retained her pristine, princess-like form. Then Lucy’s voice chimed in.
[System Notice!]
[All areas have been scanned... Mapping of this region is complete... Location names can now be retrieved.]
[Shellgrave Cave]
[Area 1 (Ribcage Plaza) — Middle and East part.]
[Area 2 (Glow Garden) — Middle, East, West, and South.]
[Area 3 (Mineral Hole) — Middle, West, Lower, Lower Underground.]
"Woah... we really did cover all the areas here... and this whole hellhole actually has a name? Shellgrave... like, a grave? Wait—if that’s the name and I can see the structure... it looks like a turtle’s anatomy... then!?"
[Response: Correct. This entire Shellgrave Cave exists inside the remains of a dead ancient Turtle Dragon.]
Maddy’s jaw practically hit the floor. Her hands shot to her face, eyes wide as saucers.
"WAIT—WHAT?! YOU’RE TELLING ME I’VE BEEN WALKING INSIDE A DEAD TURTLE DRAGON THIS WHOLE TIME?!"
She staggered back a step, pointing wildly at the cave walls like she could physically poke the skeleton into reality.
"A DEAD ANCIENT TURTLE DRAGON! THIS... THIS IS INSANE! I mean... the ribs, the spine, the—oh gods, the skull must be somewhere up there!"
She spun around, pacing a little, hands flailing, nearly tripping over a shard of bone.
"We’re literally in a dragon graveyard that’s shaped like the dragon itself! I—oh, Lucy, I—this is the most horrifyingly amazing thing ever! And the fact that we’ve just been casually running, fighting, and eating in its ribcage—"
She clasped her hands to her cheeks again, letting out a giddy shriek.
"I AM LIVING INSIDE A TITANIC SKELETON AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIFYING ALL AT ONCE!"
