Bizarre Realm-Chapter 355 - 20: Spirit Library! Knowledge Darknet_3
——Soul Capturing Technique!
As soon as this spell was cast, Shawn knew what the opponent intended to do, because a brilliant gem appeared in his palm, accompanied by a strange blood light, directly extracting the souls of Ammon’s sheep and imprisoning them within the gem.
He was capturing souls as a form of wealth, a casting material, an element for advancement.
The opponent seemed to have gained considerable rewards on this trip, as a satisfied smile appeared on his face, even the corners of his mouth curved slightly.
——Shadow Black Tentacles!
Shawn’s figure suddenly emerged, gently raising a hand, a spell descended from the sky, but the target was not the Soul Mage before him, but those escaping sheep of Ammon not far away.
One by one, the resilient black tentacles bound the horned sheep in place, unable to break free, they were completely controlled by Shawn.
"Who?"
Soul Mage Larius issued a wary voice, and a flash of spiritual light appeared on his body instantaneously, indicating the activation of protective curios on him.
——Soul Mage Larius [Soul Stealer] [Amon’s Contractee] (Challenge Level 16)?!
Shawn’s figure gradually emerged, landing with the monster doctor, looking at the extremely vigilant Soul Mage not far away, he said lightly, "Friend."
"I mean no harm, just noticing that some slipped through your hunting ritual, thought I’d lend a hand."
An Extraordinary of Arcane Magic and Mind Path?
Larius’ pupils shrank the moment he saw Shawn, as he was an Extraordinary of the Soul Sequence, possessing unique Perception, and there was also Ammon’s Spirit Contract on him. Shawn’s strength made him extremely apprehensive, as the latter’s power far exceeded his own, not to mention there was also an enslaved Flesh Weaver beside him.
He could see the monster doctor’s enslaved soul.
Larius said warily, "Then thank you, sir."
"Since you helped, I shall gift these few horned beasts to you."
He declined Shawn’s goodwill.
The horned beasts bound by Shawn were directly given to him, and after Shawn’s appearance, Larius no longer used the Soul Capturing Technique.
The Spirit Realm is a place full of perils.
Encountering others in this wilderness, it’s best to act cautiously.
Shawn raised his brows upon hearing this and asked, "Where is the friend from?"
Larius found himself in a dilemma, abandoning the ritual would mean losing today’s gains; continuing would consume a large amount of his Mana Pool, and if the opponent bore ill intent, the situation would be dire.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "Land of Ghosts."
"Where do you come from, sir?"
Land of Ghosts?
That place in the Spirit Realm?
Shawn replied calmly, "Dagon."
The Realm of Reality’s people. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Larius slightly relaxed his guard, knowing that people from the Realm of Reality are not so belligerent, they are more travelers of the Spirit Realm and do not overly engage in the inter-faction conflicts there.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "What can I assist you with, sir, for your sudden appearance?"
"If you lack superior Soul Crystal Stones."
"Our harvest here can be split half and half."
Spending money to prevent disaster.
He assumed Shawn had a greedy appetite.
Larius chose to retreat a step, dividing the ceremony’s soul harvest in half as per the Spirit Realm’s survival rule ’finders keepers.’
However, Shawn preferred ’since we’re here.’
He was not interested in Ammon’s sheep, and he could obtain Soul Crystal Stones himself. His curiosity lay with this Soul Mage.
Of course, Shawn did not intend to enslave the other.
He wasn’t truly a Heart Stealer, wanting to enslave everyone he saw; indulging in the power of Mind Enslavement was not advisable, plus the Spirit Realm’s natives were no easy prey, possibly inviting trouble. The Spirit Realm starts at a minimum Challenge Level of 8, harboring many hidden big shots.
Shawn said calmly, "Friend."
"No need for Soul Crystal Stones. I’d like to propose a trade with you instead."
Trade?
Larius’ expression turned alert instantly, cautiously asking, "What trade?"
Shawn smiled, "Friend, do you know Aemon?"
Aemon?
The name triggered a slight unease in Larius, prompting him to step back cautiously and say, "I know a little."
Shawn nodded, "I am a devotee serving Ammon."
The statement brought a trace of fear to Larius’ face as he asked, "Are you one of the Gray Whisper Hermitage?"
Shawn was noncommittal.
He said calmly, "Our organization is currently very interested in knowledge. If you’re willing to share some of your knowledge on ’souls,’ you can trade with us for other things."
"For instance, mysterious knowledge of other domains, or even wealth and power, up to High Tier Extraordinary Relics."
"It’s a fair trade."
Larius clearly did not trust Shawn’s words outright, hesitantly asking, "How would the trade work?"
Shawn replied lightly, "A simple, harmless sacrifice ritual."
"Our Messenger will deliver what you need, provided the knowledge you present is valuable."
The Soul Mage across showed a slightly skeptical expression.
Shawn gathered a Secret Technique Seal in his palm, flicking it with his fingers, it flew out, as he said lightly, "Friend, you might want to consider seriously."
"Opportunities like this are rare."
Cast a wide net.
After Shawn finished speaking, he waved away the Shadow Black Tentacles, glanced at Larius, letting his gaze linger on the twisted soul reflection of the latter, which was the Law of the Soul Sequence. Since he began dabbling in the Law of Devils, how could it not involve souls, given that devils inherently steal souls.
Domains are stepping stones; as long as there’s correlation, possible to cross paths and master new domains.
Trying out the Soul Sequence might be worthwhile.
Shawn directly tore open a Teleportation Gate, taking the monster doctor back to the Realm of Reality.
This truly showed he bore no hostility.
Soul Mage Larius kept watching Shawn’s figure until he confirmed Shawn left the Spirit Realm, finally heaving a sigh of relief, murmuring, "Trading knowledge?"
"What is the Gray Whisper Hermitage scheming this time?"
Truth be told, he was slightly tempted.
Yet he remained uneasy, fearing an ambush, but soon he thought of a solution.
He had a not-so-bright Soul Apprentice!
The kind he wouldn’t mind losing.
