"It’s time," He Li announced.

The crowd stopped and they looked in their direction, specifically to Qin An.

"It’s time to send them." Qin An added.

"... C-Can’t my Dad just stay here?" A young woman couldn’t help but plead. It’s just been so many years since the last time she saw her father after he died from the war. She promised to herself to become like him so he will be proud and albeit she knew that he will never know, she still pursued this dream.

It was totally unexpected to meet him but when she really saw her father, all the walls she built around her heart just collapsed. She wanted to embrace her family but could not so she resulted in just staring at her father with longing and pain.

She didn’t want to be left behind again.

Can’t her father just stay here with her?

"I’m sorry but they could not." Qin An answered truthfully. "They have to go to the afterlife to receive their merit and live for the second chance."

"Can’t he just live like this again? Can’t that just be his reward for the merit?" She pleaded again but Qin An shook his head slightly.

"Only fate can judge how he’ll live."

She knew that but hearing it directly made her heart ache again. She turned to her father with tears streaming down on her face.

"Child, don’t cry." His father softly consoled her. "Don’t worry. I heard we’ll meet the Judge of the underworld. I’ll plead with him to stay with you, okay? I will use all the merit that I accumulated to reincarnate again as your father."

"D-Dad..." She cried even more.

His father wanted to caress his daughter’s head but knew that he could not. They warned them earlier that it might be dangerous because their souls still have the residue of resentment from their deaths so he will not take any risk to endanger her. She nods while wiping her tears so she could give her father the brightest smile she could give as her last farewell gift.

Soon, a golden magic circle appeared under the tree. It centered both Qin An and the tree and shined brightly. The warm breeze grew and everyone suddenly saw the souls of the heroes lighten. The wounds, scars and even the missing parts of their body gradually healed under this light, transforming them to the last appearance they had when they were still alive.

Soon, a large amount of golden butterflies appeared and surrounded each soul. A familiar golden runes also appeared that circled Qin An that seemed to change him completely. A mysterious feeling of holiness and majesty envelops the young man with the runes surrounding him softly. Qin An’s eyes were closed and he parted his lips to whisper the secret key to officially open the gate of the underworld.

The golden butterflies surrounded the souls until it totally enveloped them. Slowly fading, the man looked at his daughter for the last time and nodded before letting the light fully engulfed them.

This also happened to the other souls and the crowd could only look at them with tears from their eyes.

The fallen heroes finally returned home and could go with the fate that awaits them with peace.
