[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 106: Who Is To Blame?
After waiting for almost 15 minutes, the ambulance and police finally arrived to pick them up. The police then took Alina and the four thugs she had hired to the police station. Meanwhile, Julian and the others went to the hospital.
They immediately administered first aid to Donald. Fortunately, the bleeding had slowed down after Arcane used his clothes to staunch the open wound on his father’s stomach.
Since his condition wasn’t good either, they were treated in two separate rooms, and Julian, who only had a minor injury, had to take care of both of them. Especially since he knew that Donald had no one else except his two teenage children.
So he had to go back and forth to take care of the two men.
"I hope that when Arcane wakes up later, he won’t immediately go looking for his father because his condition is still not fully recovered. I’m also worried about Mr. Stamford’s condition. I should be waiting outside the operating room, but I also have to wait for Arcane here," he muttered in confusion while watching his husband, who was still unconscious on the hospital bed.
Since he didn’t know who to contact in a situation like this, the only person who could definitely help him now was his cousin, Marshal. He immediately called him, and of course, Marshall was very surprised to hear the news.
"What!? Who are you with at the hospital right now? Wait for me there. I’ll be right there to keep you company!" he said in surprise and immediately rushed to the hospital even though it was already midnight.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Marshal saw that Julian had suffered minor injuries from being punched in the face. But he was grateful that his cousin was still okay, even though his friend was now seriously injured.
"So that’s how it was. Arcane should have called me or Hans for help. But why didn’t he?" asked the blond haired man when he heard the details of the story from Julian.
"I myself don’t know why he didn’t try to ask for help. He came alone and fought them with his bare hands. Then Mr. Stamford’s arrival was something he himself didn’t expect," said Julian, explaining everything.
Marshal thought that Arcane must have felt bad asking him and Hans for help because he had already bothered them during the previous incident with Ryan. That’s why the man chose to do it alone, without involving anyone else.
"And his condition is this bad. Look at his face, there are so many bruises there." He walked over to his friend, looking at his face, which was battered from the thugs’ previous blows.
"I know. But for now, I want to ask you to wait outside the operating room. Mr. Stamford has no other family besides his two teenage children. I haven’t told them what happened, but right now he needs someone to wait for him outside the room."
His cousin understood what Julian wanted. He understood that right now Julian was confused, having to wait for either Arcane or Mr. Stamford.
"Okay, I’ll wait outside the operating room and let you know what the doctor says later. I’m sure only you can calm Arcane down when he wakes up."
They parted ways in the room, where Marshal went to the beach above them to wait outside the operating room. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
After almost two hours had passed, Arcane regained consciousness and began to open his eyes. His body still felt so sore, as did his face and head, which felt dizzy.
Realizing that his husband had finally woken up, Julian put down his cell phone and smiled at him.
"Hey, are you feeling better? You’re in the hospital now. I’m sure everything will be okay soon." He tried to make the situation feel safer and more reassuring, so Arcane wouldn’t feel panicked or confused by the current situation.
However, there was one thing he asked when he finally spoke.
"Where’s my father?"
He looked at Julian, hoping to hear good news from him. However, Julian did not answer the question and asked Arcane to rest for now.
"We can talk about it later. You still need a lot of rest, and don’t move around too much. The doctor said your left arm was almost broken, so you’re not allowed to move your arm or your leg, which is also quite injured."
However, Arcane was not someone who easily forgot things. Even when his own husband tried to change the subject, he kept asking the same question.
"Where is my father? Is he okay?" he asked again in a firmer voice, although it still sounded weak.
Because he kept asking, Julian had no choice but to answer that Donald was still in the operating room. He had asked Marshal to wait outside the room until the operation was over.
"Marshal hasn’t said anything about it yet. I think the surgery isn’t over yet, so it’s better if you stay here and rest until Marshal calls and I go there to find out what’s going on," he replied, rubbing Arcane’s arm.
"This is all my fault..." He muttered suddenly, which surprised Julian a little because those words came out of his mouth.
He blamed himself for what had happened. If only he hadn’t tried to find out about his father, none of this would have happened. Although he didn’t regret what he had done, because if he hadn’t done it, he wouldn’t have met Julian.
"But I also don’t like it when you get involved in problems like this. You almost died because of me. And I..."
He couldn’t continue his sentence. Julian also fell silent as he listened to his words, because until today, his life had always been peaceful without any problems.
Since childhood, he had only played at home and been busy with comics and games that he always played. Nothing had changed until he met Arcane. There were so many challenges he had to face, stepping out of his comfort zone, plus everything he went through with him.
Does Julian regret all of that?
"I never even regretted marrying you. Even before we truly confessed our feelings to each other, I never regretted it. I actually feel much better when I’m with you. You don’t bring any bad into our lives, which are already too cruel for the two of us," Julian replied.
He also said that this must be a challenge for every married couple. There will always be obstacles in every relationship, and that is where their relationship is tested. Will they stay together or choose to separate?
"Even though I have never said my wedding vows, just like in those vows, I will always be there for you in good and bad, in joy and sorrow, until death do us part."
He leaned in close to Arcane’s face and kissed his forehead, whispering that he would never leave him no matter what happened.
"Because with you, I become a much better person, and with me, you become complete."
