[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 108: Arcane Responsibility

Two days after the terrible incident, Arcane and Julian went to the Stamford residence to meet Stefano and Sofia. Until now, the two teenagers still did not know what had happened to their parents.

However, Arcane had already called the house and the maid answered the phone. He explained Donald and Alina’s situation to the maid, asking her to look after Stefano and Sofia until he could come and see them himself.

The maid agreed and tried to calm Stefano and Sofia when they asked about their parents’ whereabouts.

Ding dong!

The doorbell rang when Julian pressed it to ask the maid to open the door. It didn’t take long for the woman to open the door and invite them in.

"Where are Sofia and Stefano? Can you call them to the living room so we can discuss this?" asked Arcane.

"Of course. They are both in their room right now. Lately, they have been asking about Mr. and Mrs. Stamford. I told them that their parents were away on a business trip, as you said."

"Good, thank you."

Until now, the maid still couldn’t believe what had happened, that Alina was now in prison awaiting her sentence. Meanwhile, Donald was still in the ICU and had not regained consciousness.

"But Mr. Donald is such a nice man, so why did everything turn out like this?" she asked, wiping her tears.

Arcane’s grip on Julian’s hand tightened. He knew that he was also partly to blame for what had happened two days ago. However, Julian tried to calm him down and said that everything would be fine.

"It’s true that this incident was unexpected. That’s why we came here to talk to his two children. Can you call them now?" asked Julian.

The woman then went upstairs to call Stefano and Sofia. Meanwhile, Arcane and Julian waited in the living room, sitting together until the two teenagers came to see them.

Not long after, Stefano arrived with his younger sister, holding hands as they entered the living room. As soon as he saw Arcane there, they both smiled happily to see him again.

Since Stefano had taken the entrance exam for the high school of his choice, Arcane had stopped being his private tutor.

"Mr. Romano!" They both hugged him with joy, though they tried not to hurt him because they saw the bandage on his hand. "What happened to you?"

"It was just a minor accident. There’s something I want to talk to you both about. Can you sit down and listen to me?" he asked.

Feeling confused by the situation, the two of them sat down near Arcane and Julian.

"First, I want to introduce the man next to me, he is my husband."

"Hello kids, I’m Julian!" Julian smiled cheerfully at them, trying to greet his husband’s two half-siblings.

"Oh, hello Mr. Julian!" Sofia replied cheerfully, matching Julian’s vibe.

Meanwhile, Stefano was much calmer and simply nodded his head at Julian. "Hello Mr. Julian."

After feeling that was enough, Arcane then tried to explain what had actually happened to Donald. Although he felt quite hesitant to tell them both.

"Actually, something bad happened to Mr. Stamford, or your father. While he was on a business trip, someone attacked him and he had to be taken home," he said.

Stefano and Sofia were very shocked when they heard this. Their faces immediately turned pale and they looked very sad. They asked about their father’s current condition.

"Then how is Dad? Is he okay?" asked Stefano, who looked trembling upon hearing the news.

Julian helped explain that Donald’s condition was currently quite bad. He definitely wouldn’t be able to come home for a few days because of his injuries. According to hospital protocol, children were also not allowed to be around the ICU room.

"That’s why we came to tell you, since you couldn’t come to see your father in that room. We are truly sorry," Julian replied, his heart breaking as well.

Especially when he saw Sofia, the 11 year old girl, start crying when she heard the news. Of course, Donald was the only father who loved them both dearly. Unlike Alina, who seemed indifferent to them.

"Hic hic, Dad... Are we going to lose Daddy? Is Dad going to... Aahhh!" She cried so hard.

Stefano tried to stay strong, even though he himself was trembling and wanted to cry. He held his younger sister’s hand, wanting her to know that he was there for her.

Seeing this situation, Julian immediately pulled them both into his arms. He knew that things weren’t okay yet, but he wanted them to believe that their father would wake up soon.

"You have to believe and try to cheer him up! Even though you can’t see him now, I’m sure the spirit of his children can wake him up," he said, stroking their heads.

Arcane remained seated quietly in his place, watching Julian deal with the two children. He knew it was the right choice to bring the man along with him, because he was sure that only Julian could calm them down.

Stefano asked about Alina’s whereabouts and whether his mother knew about his father’s current condition. Arcane decided to stick to the story that Alina was out with someone.

After all, the woman was used to leaving the house for work, so Stefano and Sofia weren’t particularly suspicious or looking for their mother.

"How about you guys watch TV? I brought some snacks for you!" Julian handed them a bag of snacks he had bought before coming to the place. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

He felt that the snacks would definitely be useful to entertain children like them. And sure enough, the two of them sat in front of the television eating the snacks he had brought. Although occasionally they could see how Stefano and Sofia still felt so sad about the news they had heard.

"I know this is too cruel to say, but as a family, they should still know what happened. Even if not everything has to be told to them," Arcane said softly.

"But why didn’t you tell them the truth that you are their older brother?" Julian asked in confusion.

Arcane’s green eyes gazed at his two half-siblings, then sighed softly.

"They’re still too young to take in so much bad news after finding out their father is currently in a coma..."

"... I don’t want them to have to face the fact that the father they admire and love actually has children with another woman."
