[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 106: Ch : It’s not going to work out
"So...did you like my daughter, Lord Liam? I told you that she’s the best-"
Liam raised his hand as he looked Baron Conner right in the eye. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Actually, about that...I don’t think it will work out."
Baron Conner looked shocked, but it quickly turned into anger. His eyes blazed as he immediately started to throw accusations.
"What do you mean it will not work out? You went out with my daughter and even spent time together. And now you want to abandon her? What kind of logic is this?"
He asked immediately, trying to pressure Liam into accepting this deal.
Baron Conner knew Liam’s nature well. He was a soft-spoken and submissive person, and a little pressure would make him submit. He wanted to use this to his advantage and push his agenda.
Unfortunately for him, Liam had his reasons ready.
"I am afraid that it will just not be possible. Your daughter has demanded too high a price for this marriage."
Liam told him, and the Baron felt even more agitated.
"So you cannot even spend a little more money for your future wife-?"
"I am afraid that no amount of money can make me buy Emperor Kaiden’s son and give it to your daughter. Also, now that she has demanded those children in front of Companion Shuu, I especially cannot allow her into the imperial palace. Please take her away before the news reaches the emperor’s ears."
Whatever anger the Baron had at the moment evaporated into thin air, and he suddenly felt his knees go weak.
"W-What did you say...?"
He asked, not wanting to believe what he had just heard.
But Liam just sighed and looked at his daughter.
"Take her with you right now. This is for your own benefit."
He told the Baron, and the Baron nodded and did as told. Outside in his carriage, he turned to look at his daughter with the same stunned expression.
"Elysia, is that true? Did you really-?"
He could not even finish that sentence, praying that it was not true. But one look at Elysia’s face told him that it was not only true, but she had no regrets about it either.
"Father, I have decided. I will marry anyone you want, but I need you to get me a few invites to the imperial castle’s party. And also, can you drop me at the temple? I want to tell the gods about my decision."
Baron Conner felt elated and scared at the same time. He was afraid of what this situation could mean for his daughter...especially after what he had heard.
But at the same time...this was the only time his daughter had asked him for such a favor, and she had already agreed to get married. He did not want to miss this chance...
"Alright. Father will get you that invite. But you will have to promise me that you will not abuse it. And do not even think about going after the royal kids. Promise me."
He told Elysia, but she did not reply. In fact, it did not seem as if she was even interested in hearing him out.
In the end, Baron Conner was a father who was weak against his daughter’s wishes. So he decided to take her to the temple one last time.

"Shuu, I don’t like that lady. She’s weird...and dangerous..."
Caelis’s voice was clear and accurate when he spoke. He looked far older than his current age, and his eyes made Shuu feel as if he was looking at an adult rather than a kid.
"You don’t like Liam’s lady friend? Then you don’t have to meet her in the future. I will make sure of it."
Shuu promised, but he did not feel confident in his claim. He did not have enough power or authority over the guards and the maids in the imperial castle...and while he could get some if he talked to the right people, he also knew that it would make everyone’s life harder.
’Hmm, still...maybe I should finally start gaining a little authority if I want to keep the kids safe.’
But Shuu still felt a little nervous about interacting with people. But for the kids’ sake, he would start getting over it.
"The sun is about to go down. Shall we get going for dinner?"
Shuu asked the kids, and they nodded. Dinner was a relatively quiet affair where no one said anything. Shuu wondered whether Emperor Kaiden would bring up what happened during his outing or not, but the Emperor said nothing.
At least, not yet.
’I doubt Prince Kaiden is unaware of what happened. But there must be a reason he is not speaking right now...’
Shuu felt like he had to ask, but his mouth refused to open when he tried. As a result, he felt tongue-tied and had to wonder whether he should bring up this topic or not.
"Do you want to say something to me, Shuu?"
Prince Kaiden asked without missing a single beat, and whatever confidence Shuu had evaporated.
"No, it’s fine. The only question I had was regarding the tea party tomorrow. But I am sure Princess Danielle has it covered."
Shuu forced a smile on his face, and Prince Kaiden nodded, not pressing the topic any further.
"Hmm, I will take your word for it. But if you have any trouble, don’t forget to reach out to me."
Shuu nodded, but they both knew that he would rather suffer in silence than come out and tell Prince Kaiden what was wrong.
The kids, thankfully, were unaware of what was happening, and Shuu felt happy for them.
The next day started far too early for him. The sun was not even out, but the door to his room had been slammed open by a familiar face.
"Huh-! Isn’t this too early? The sun is not even out yet..."
He complained, but Princess Danielle had no time to even look at him.
"Does it look like we have any time left? It’s already morning, and we have a lot to prepare. Remember, this is an important time for not only you, but the kids as well. We cannot afford for things to go wrong."
