"-let me in. I want to see Shuu-"

"-not the best time-"

"Shuu-"

Shuu felt himself stir as soon as he heard the familiar voice calling his name. He blinked and looked at the door. It opened within seconds, and a short body propelled itself toward Shuu at an unimaginable speed.

"Shuu, awake?"

Caelis asked, cuddling against Shuu’s stomach. Rin was not far behind, but he was much more reserved and looked lost.

Shuu felt bad for the kid and opened his arms to let Rin in as well. His gesture caused Rin to hesitate for a few seconds, but in the end, the kid came to him and cuddled against him as well.

"Prince Caelis...please, listen to us..."

The guard entered the room with an annoyed face, but he paused as soon as he saw that Shuu was awake.

Shuu gave him a nod and the guard quickly took his leave, but not before he took one last look inside the room.

Prince Caelis’s gaze met his, and the guard quickly ran away before he could be called upon by anyone else.

Shuu looked at the guard, wondering if he was supposed to do something or not. But Caelis grabbed his arm and tugged at him. That made him forget what he was thinking, and he looked at the kid in front of him with curious eyes.

"Do you need something, Caelis?"

Shuu asked in a low voice, not wanting to startle Caelis. But the kid shook his head as he looked at him.

"No...? You were late..."

The kid explained, and Shuu nodded.

Caelis and he had a routine in the morning, so when he did not see Shuu, the kid must have been startled and come to find him.

"I see. What time is it now?"

Shuu asked, but one look outside his window told him that it was late. The sun was high up in the sky already, and there were loud noises outside his door that told him it was time to wake up.

His body protested, but he forced it to stand up.

’Tsk, Kaiden went too hard on me last night. Do I have any marks on my body?’

Shuu wanted to look, but he did not want to make it obvious that he was looking. So he put the kids aside and stepped into the bathroom.

Emperor Kaiden had dressed him back up after he had his way with Shuu, and that was the right decision on the Emperor’s part. Because as soon as Shuu pulled his shirt up, all he saw were marks.

His neck, his chest, and his arms had marks. And from what he could recall, his thighs and legs were not in any better shape.

"Is Kaiden a dog? Look at how he has chewed me all over..."

Shuu complained, but he was not as angry as he should have been. Being loved like this was almost a comfort for him.

He quickly freshened up and changed into Emperor Kaiden’s clothes (they were too big, but at least they covered him).

Breakfast...well, lunch was a quiet affair. He and the kids ate, but Princess Danielle was nowhere to be found, which was quite odd.

She usually did her best to accommodate Shuu and not leave him alone. But he dismissed it and went back to his usual routine.

Emperor Kaiden came to visit him during evening tea time, and he looked a little too happy for it to be natural.

Shuu wanted to ask him if anything happened, but he decided not to do that in front of the kids and book it for later.

But that later never came because as soon as the kids went to sleep, Emperor Kaiden decided he wanted some alone time with Shuu as well.

The whole day, he never came across Princess Danielle...which was not something that had happened before.

’This stupid man. Does he not see the situation I am in? How long will he continue to ignore me like this?’

Princess Danielle clutched the paper in her hand before she presented it to Prince Yunn, only to get ignored by him.

The reason there was a rift between the two was because of one simple question she had asked-when were they going to get married.

She had expected the same answer from the Prince, and he had not disappointed her. He had simply told her that they would get married after the emperor got married.

But despite knowing what the answer would be, she still could not control her emotions.

"Are you truly going to keep your stance on our relationship?"

She asked, and the Prince finally paused to give her a look.

He had known her for a long time, so he could tell that something was wrong here. Princess Danielle was not acting like she used to.

"Is something...wrong, Danielle? You can tell me if there is. I will do my best to help you out."

Prince Yunn told her, and the Princess let out a scoff.

"There is nothing wrong. I just think I might need to visit my father soon. He has been asking for me to come and visit him for some time."

She told the Prince, and he nodded with an almost hesitant expression on his face.

He could tell that Princess Danielle was not telling him the full truth. But he did not want to press her either.

So he decided to allow her some time to gather her thoughts.

"Alright. You can do what you want to. Just...make sure you talk to me if you have any issues. I will do my best to help you out."

Prince Yunn told her, but Princess Danielle only clutched her hand tighter.

’You say that, but then you do not agree to marry me. Can I even count on you to help me out?’

She wanted to demand an answer, but she knew better than that.

Besides, who was she to point fingers when she was not laying out all the facts out in the open herself?
