[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 160: Ch : Talk with the Saintess - Part 1
"I..."
cough
Shuu almost told Prince Yunn everything. But that suddenly timed cough from Princess Danielle stopped him short.
He blinked as he looked at Princess Danielle’s sour expression and how Prince Yunn turned to her with a concerned look on his face. That made Shuu’s heart ache a bit, and he decided not to say anything else.
"Danielle, are you alright? Here, have some water."
Prince Yunn handed Princess Danielle the glass of water, and she quickly drank it and let out a relieved sigh.
"Ah, I feel much better now. Thank you for that glass of water. Anyway, you should hurry up and eat. Don’t you have that meeting to attend in half an hour?"
"You are right. I should hurry..."
And just like that, the conversation returned back to normal, and Shuu let out a sigh of relief.
He did not know whether to feel sorry or relieved that things had returned to normal. But he did know one thing for sure-he had no ally in the imperial castle, so if he wanted to get something done, he would have to do it himself.
Shuu would protect himself and the kids until Emperor Kaiden came back.
He quickly finished breakfast and stood up first. Everyone turned toward him with a curious expression.
But Shuu did not show that he felt bothered by their looks.
"I will be heading back to my room now. Please let me know if you need me for anything."
Shuu stood up and headed back to his room. But he quickly noticed that there was some kind of unsettling feeling around the imperial castle.
There were a lot more guards around, and he could see the priests as well. Something huge was going on that he did not know about.
’I do not have a good feeling about all this. Should I... do something...?’
Shuu asked himself, but in the end, he did not bother and turned to head back to his room...
Or that was his plan before he ran into Saintess Rosalyne. She looked as unhappy to be in the imperial castle as Shuu was to see her.
And yet, she headed toward him and bowed her head in front of him.
"My Lord, do you have some time to spare? There are a few things I would like to talk to you about."
Seeing the saintess standing in front of him... no, just seeing her again brought back bad memories for Shuu.
He could still feel the phantom of her hand as she tugged at Shuu’s hair or the way her eyes looked when she ordered for Shuu to be locked up so that he could not escape.
Shuu had... nothing to say to her. In fact, he did not even want to see her. Nor did he need to see her.
So he turned around and headed back to his room... only for his hand to be grabbed by the saintess.
"Don’t touch me-!"
Shuu’s hand instinctively slapped away the saintess’s, and she looked shocked by his audacity. Her eyes flashed at Shuu, and he felt his body tensing up at her reaction.
That look lasted for a few seconds before shock overtook it, and the saintess rubbed her slapped hand.
"It seems like I startled you. I apologize for that, as it was not my intention. I just wanted to talk to you because that is what the goddess wanted me to do. She has something to convey to you before Emperor Kaiden comes back."
Saintess Rosalyne’s expression was closed off, but Shuu could still see exhaustion gnawing at her.
He owed nothing to her, and he had no reason to hear her out. But a part of him told him that it was the right thing to do. So even when Shuu knew that his best course of action was to do nothing and head back to his room, he still decided to hear her out.
"Alright, since it is the goddess’s wish, I will hear you out this time. Should we head to the garden to have our talk?"
Shuu asked the saintess, and she nodded.
They could both feel people curiously trying to listen in and decided that this conversation was not one that needed to be listened in on.
The garden was quiet, but that did not mean it was not infested with bugs. So the saintess decided to do something about it.
With a wave of her hands, the whole garden was covered in a shield that prevented her voice from getting out. And once it was secure, she gestured for Shuu to sit down beside her.
"Now, shall we have a talk? I am sure you have a lot of questions. I will try to answer them as much as I can, but even I cannot guarantee that I will be able to tell you all you want to know."
The saintess warned Shuu, and he nodded.
He had no desire to ask her personal questions. Nor did he expect her to know the answers to all of his questions.
Just the fact that he had an opportunity to get answers was more than enough.

"Tsk, how long is this talking? That goddamned goddess is making things much harder than they need to be."
Emperor Kaiden complained as he looked at another dead end in front of him. This was the third time this had happened.
Just when he thought he had caught wind of the goddess’s trail, it somehow disappeared. It had been a fun chase at first, but now it was starting to get frustrating.
"What would you like to do now, Emperor Kaiden? Should we give up on the hunt and head back?"
Nero asked, and Kaiden gritted his teeth.
It struck his pride that he had to back down. But what other choice did he even have? He had already wasted more than enough time here, and he wanted to meet Shuu. He was not only missing Shuu but craving his attention as well.
"Alright, let’s head back-"
Just as he said that, there was a sudden hint of wind that caused a familiar scent to be blown their way. It smelled like the goddess’s magic...
"Well, looks like we are not heading back after all."
