[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 183: Ch : You will have to come back - Part 1
Soft hands touched Shuu all over. The gentle grip on his arm forced Shuu to turn his face away from whatever he was facing. A soft hand covered his eyes as well, making sure he wouldn’t be able to see much.
Whatever was happening, wherever he was, Shuu could not guess. Nor did he want to guess. All he wanted to do was close his eyes and pretend he was asleep for a bit longer.
Unfortunately, the hand over his eyes quickly pulled away, and he finally opened his eyes. But instead of a beautiful field of flowers as he expected, all his eyes saw was a disaster.
The bodies lying in front of him were half-burned, and most of them looked too disfigured to be able to tell whom they belonged to. Blood was still seeping out of those corpses, and Shuu tried to take a step back.
"W-What is going on? Who am I...?"
Shuu questioned as he brought his hands toward his face, only to freeze as soon as he looked at them.
There was red all over his hands as well, and the sticky substance he could feel must be blood. Shuu had blood all over his hands, and something in him told him that it was no coincidence.
He was the reason this world was painted red.
"W-What did I do...? No, it was not me! It was not me!"
Shuu tried to deny it all. He did not want to be the reason behind this world being painted red.
Soft hands touched Shuu’s back, and they gave him a second of comfort. Shuu threw himself toward those hands and left his comfort to their mercy.
Having those hands touch him made Shuu feel comforted. He felt like he did not have to think about much, and he could leave it all up to those hands to decide his fate. He no longer had to think...
"My dear weapon, you did an amazing job. Just keep doing this, and soon, we will emerge as the winners. And then, our wish will come true."
The soft and melodious voice told Shuu, and he nodded in understanding.
A wish...! He wanted that reward. But he did not know what he needed to wish for. Did he even have a wish? If he did...only one thing came to mind.
"Wish...? Can I make a wish as well? Then, can I wish to no longer fight? I don’t like blood, and I don’t like to see people die. Can I ask Father to-"
The gentle grip tightened around Shuu’s shoulder, and he flinched. It was beginning to hurt now. Sharp nails were digging into his shoulder, and they would surely leave marks there.
"You don’t feel like fighting? That is impossible! You are my weapon, and your task is to fight for me. I told you before, right? Forget about guilt and all other emotions. All you need to do is follow my words."
Those words sounded definitive. They made Shuu shiver, and his body obeyed them unconsciously. Before he knew it, he was bowing his head at those words.
And just like that, the softness that he had been missing seconds ago came back. Shuu felt the hand touching his chin and pulling it up before soft hands came back to cover his eyes.
"See, you are not ready to see the world for what it is. Come back to my embrace. Shuu, come back to me, and we can live happily together once more."
The soft voice caused panic to surge inside Shuu’s heart, and he immediately tried to thrash in protest. But the more he tried, the harder it became for him to breathe and break free.
’I don’t want to be a weapon. I don’t-’
Someone familiar grabbed Shuu’s hand and pulled him away from the despair he was feeling. Shuu gasped aloud before he forced his eyes open.
He could see Kaiden’s familiar face in front of him with his barely opened eyes. But he also quickly noticed that there was something...different about the Kaiden in front of him. He still looked like the crown prince, but Shuu could just tell that there was a slight but noticeable difference.
"It seems like my honey is in trouble. You don’t want to continue this war either, right? Then, shall we run away?"
Kaiden’s look-alike asked, and Shuu did consider that he might be falling into a trap. But he still decided to take the risk and accept that offered hand.
"I-I want to run away. Please take me away."
Shuu sounded desperate, but the emperor in front of him just smiled at Shuu. His soft smile melted Shuu’s worry, and Shuu gave him a tired smile back. And suddenly, they were running away.
The battlefield began to disappear from around Shuu, and his heart finally started to feel lighter. But there was still a sense of doubt in the back of his mind that told Shuu to look back.
As soon as he did that, his eyes clashed with the Goddess, who had a muted expression on her face.
The coldness on her face only made Shuu feel nervous, but he ignored that feeling and kept running away with Kaiden.
"How far do you think you will be able to run? Sooner or later, you will have to come home. And when you do, call for me."
The soft voice told Shuu, and this time, he was not able to ignore it. He looked back until he could no longer see the speaker, and Kaiden’s look-alike finally let go of his hand to check up on him.
"Shuu, are you alright? You look distracted. Did something happen?"
Shuu turned to look at the familiar-looking person, and his heart gave a painful squeeze in his chest. A part of Shuu was telling him that the person in front of him was special to him.
And yet, Shuu could not recall.
"Excuse me, but who are you, and why do you look like Emperor Kaiden? And what is this place? The last thing I recall was falling asleep. So how did I end up here...?"
Shuu had a lot of questions, but unfortunately, no answers to go along with them.
