[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body-Chapter 40: Not Stepping Back Anymore
Adrian smacked his chest hard.
Matteo winced. "Babe... stop."
Adrian rolled his eyes. "You’d better be ready to answer all my questions. Because I need to know why you did it."
Matteo didn’t argue. He pulled Adrian closer, tucking him under his chin as if trying to keep him safe from everything else.
When the car finally pulled up to the estate, the engine went quiet, leaving a heavy silence in its wake. Harry stepped forward to open the door. Matteo got out first, then reached back, offering his hand.
Adrian took it.
Their fingers laced together as they walked inside, their footsteps echoing softly against the marble floor.
As they began to climb the grand staircase, Matteo glanced at Adrian, his voice low and cautious. "Do you need anything, Rian? Water? Something to eat?"
Adrian didn’t answer. His eyes stayed fixed ahead, focused on the bedroom door, where he would finally get the answers he needed.
The moment they stepped into the room and the door clicked shut, the atmosphere shifted.
Before Adrian could turn to start questioning him, Matteo moved. He stepped behind him, wrapping his arms around Adrian’s waist and pulling him close against his chest.
"Rian... can you please forgive me?" Matteo said slowly.
"I don’t have a good reason for what I did," he murmured against the crook of Adrian’s neck, his voice thick with remorse. "I wasn’t thinking. I was spiraling, and the moment I saw you... I regretted it."
His arms tightened around him.
"I’m so sorry, Rian... please forgive me," Matteo said.
Adrian stiffened in his arms, his heart racing with a mix of hurt and anger. "You lied to me," he said, his voice trembling. "You told me you had urgent business to take care of, and hours later, I saw you with another man. Do you realize how that makes me look? How does it feel to find out you were lying to me like that?"
Adrian twisted in Matteo’s arms, forcing him to look him in the eye.
"It makes me feel like I’m a joke to you," he said, his voice tight. "Like everything you’ve ever said to me... every sweet word... was just rehearsed."
He shook his head slightly.
"Is this what you tell everyone? You said you were bringing me here tonight, then you changed the plan just to go to him. Was he that important?"
His gaze hardened. "What kind of game are you playing with me, Matteo?"
Matteo looked like he’d been hit. He rested his forehead against Adrian’s, his breathing uneven. For once, he looked desperate, his usual composure gone, replaced by the fear of losing him.
"It’s not a game," Matteo said, his hands trembling slightly where they held Adrian’s waist. "I swear to you on my life, Rian, it isn’t a game. I’m not playing with you. I panicked because... because I’m not used to feeling this way. I tried to push you away because I was scared of how much I wanted you to stay.
That man meant nothing. He was a distraction that didn’t work. You are the only person I want in this room, in this house, in my life. Please, believe me."
Adrian shook his head. "No... I won’t believe you. You’re a liar. A terrible liar!" He lashed out, smacking Matteo’s chest with his palms, his voice rising to a fractured shout. "Liar! You’re just saying what I want to hear!"
Matteo didn’t move.
He took every hit, his eyes fixed on Adrian.
"I’m sorry," he said quietly, over and over. "I’m so sorry... Rian."
Adrian looked at Matteo. "Fine," he said softly, his strength fading as he leaned his forehead against his. After a long silence, his voice dropped, quiet and hollow. "How did you get that name?"
Matteo blinked, his touch softening as he stroked Adrian’s cheek. "What name?"
"Rian," Adrian murmured.
"I just... it just came to me," Matteo said softly, his brow furrowing in concern. "Does someone else call you that?"
"Yes," Adrian replied, his eyes clouding over.
"Who?" Matteo asked.
Adrian fell silent as a sudden realization hit him. Maybe all the times he talked about the family he had lost... maybe that was what had been pushing Matteo away, into the arms of strangers. He didn’t want to be a weight of grief anymore. He wanted this night to be just theirs.
"It’s none of your business," he murmured, pulling back just a little.
Matteo didn’t press. He just nodded. "Okay... okay, Rian. Baby."
A genuine smile finally broke across Adrian’s face. Matteo paused, staring at him as if he’d just seen something rare. His eyes moved slowly over Adrian’s face, taking in every little detail.
Then the smile slowly faded.
Adrian looked into Matteo’s eyes.
They held each other’s gaze, neither of them moving.
A quiet moment passed. Something shifted.
Adrian reached up, rising on his toes, and pulled Matteo into a deep, desperate kiss.
Matteo groaned into the kiss, his hands sliding down to Adrian’s hips as he walked him backward toward the bed.
They moved as one, not breaking the contact until they tangled together and fell onto the mattress. The kiss deepened, hungry and honest, pushing away everything that had come before.
After a long moment, as Matteo realized he was getting hard, he started to pull away, his breathing turning heavy as he prepared to stand and give Adrian space. He heard the voice.
"Have sex with me," Adrian said suddenly.
Matteo’s head snapped back, his eyes wide with shock. "What... what did you say?"
"Have sex with me," Adrian repeated, his voice gaining a shaky strength.
Matteo stared at him, completely stunned. Seeing the hesitation, Adrian’s eyes filled with a fresh wave of insecurity.
"Please... Matteo, have sex with me," he said softly.
Matteo stammered. "I... I don’t want to touch you. I don’t want to..."
Adrian cut in, looking at him. "Is it because I wasn’t good enough the first time? Is that why you’re holding back... why are you pulling back...? Why don’t you want to touch me again?"
Matteo tried to speak but couldn’t find the right words.
Adrian said, "Listen, Matteo... you’re my first. I haven’t been with any man before. If I practice more with you... I’ll get better. I promise."
Adrian looked at him with raw, heartbreaking sincerity. "You can’t just stop touching me because of one night and think I’m not enough for you."
Matteo felt something break inside him.
He looked down at Adrian, at the way his words had landed, something shifting behind his eyes before it disappeared just as quickly.
"You... you think you weren’t good enough?" He asked, his voice rough. "You think that’s why I stopped?"
Adrian nodded, unable to hide the jealousy and possessiveness he felt. "Don’t go to those men again. Just because I’m not good enough yet... I’ll get better. So let—"
Matteo didn’t let him finish.
He pulled him in and kissed him, hard and sudden, cutting off the rest of his words.
"I’m sorry... babe, I’m truly sorry," Matteo said, pulling back just an inch. "I didn’t realize how foolish I was until now. I’m sorry I made you feel that way. You were never the problem. You’re more than enough... you’re everything I want and need."
"I didn’t know," Matteo said, his voice cracking. "All this time I spent holding back, I thought I was giving you space to heal. I never realized that my pulling away was breaking you even more. I thought I was the one who wasn’t good for you. I truly believed I was wrong to want you this much."
Adrian looked up at him. "Why would you think that?"
Matteo leaned closer, their foreheads touching.
"It doesn’t matter now," Matteo murmured. "You don’t need to know the dark parts of my head. Just know this: I’m not stepping back anymore, Rian. I’m never giving up on us. No matter what."
He paused, staring into Adrian’s eyes as if searching for his own soul.
"I’ve never said this to anyone outside my family," Matteo said, his heart racing. "But I’m saying it to you now, because it’s the only truth I have left. I love you, Rian. I really do. I’m done running from how I feel."
Adrian’s breath hitched. He reached up to cup Matteo’s face. "Then you don’t have to run. I’m willing to try, if you promise to stay."
Matteo let out a rough, unsteady "Fuck," the weight of everything finally catching up with him.
He leaned in and kissed Adrian, hard and desperate. His hands moved to Adrian’s shirt, undoing the buttons one by one with a slow, focused touch.
"Show me," Adrian murmured against his lips, his voice thick with a sudden, bold need. "Show me how much you love me. Show me how much you want me."
In response, Matteo moved down, his lips trailing fire along Adrian’s jawline before settling against the sensitive skin of his neck. He didn’t just kiss him; he pressed his lips there with a fierce, possessive intensity, leaving a deep, dark mark, a brand that told the world exactly who Adrian belonged to.
"You’re mine," Matteo growled softly against his skin. "From tonight, you are completely mine."
With one smooth move, he reached inside Adrian’s trousers, his fingers wrapping securely around Adrian’s cock. He pulled it free...
