Black Online-Chapter 105: Dangerous Lies
"That will be all from me. I’ll keep you guys updated about when we will finally go on raids. It shouldn’t be too much longer now."
Fang Raon said.
And with that, he left the room and was planning to log off for the night, as it was getting rather late.
The Fourth-Liners stayed behind in the common room. They were still thinking about those "ground rules" that Fang Raon gave them.
’He didn’t expose me? Why?’
Machary wondered with a frown.
"...What do you guys think?"
Luke asked.
"I am just worried about that—if you perform badly, you won’t get any treasures—part."
Rae said worryingly.
"Yeah, didn’t Machary tell us that Fang Raon used to steal the treasures of his former party? What if this is his way of doing it?
"He’ll just say that everyone performed badly and take all the treasures for himself!"
Sam cried out.
It brought sour faces to everyone’s faces, and that sounded like something Fang Raon might do based on the description Machary had given about him.
"What do you think, Machary? Will he really do that?"
Rae asked softly.
"...I don’t know..."
Machary whispered.
He couldn’t just go and say that what he said about Fang Raon was a bunch of bullshit because it would make them hate him!
It would make his time in Rose Records unbearable. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"If he does that, we’ll go to the guild master right away. Machary can also come with us and say that he has done that before as well!
"He’ll get kicked out of the guild immediately!"
Ocon said.
Everyone nodded their heads and agreed to it.
’The lie is exploding in size. It was supposed to be just a little harmless lie that would give me an edge in the team leader race.
’I had no intention to completely ruin Fang Raon’s reputation like this.’
Machary thought with a frown.
He was getting worried that eventually they would realize that Fang Raon was nothing like his lies portrayed him to be.
They might start pressuring him to see whether what he was saying was true.
’I don’t know what I should do...’
Machary stood up and headed to the door.
"Machary, we’re planning to play a couple rounds of the General’s Game? Want to give it a shot? It’s a good way to increase your strategical skills!"
Niall asked.
"Ah, I am fine, sorry... I am a little tired, that’s all, so I am going to sleep so I’ll be ready for tomorrow’s round of training."
Machary said with an awkward smile and left.
Fourth-Liners watched him go and saw his sour mood.
"...His mood is bad, which I don’t blame him for. He wanted that team leader position badly."
"...Yeah, and I am sure he is also worried about Fang Raon being the team leader after the horrible experience he had with him last time."
"...Maybe Machary can still become team leader if Fang Raon does a poor job."
...
Megaworld, 98th Floor.
"Ah..."
Inside a pretty bedroom, Chaewon sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the picture on the wall.
The picture was about a beautiful night sky with the aurora borealis dancing across it. It was an amazingly beautiful sight.
The land underneath was covered in a snow that just made the entire picture look much better.
’I’d like to see that with my own eyes. Also, I’d like to see Fang Raon with my own eyes too... standing with both legs... I wonder what he would look like...’
Chaewon thought to herself.
A desire grew in her heart, and she truly wanted to check out that place by herself, and her gaze lingered in the direction of the laptop.
She kept thinking... thinking... thinking... and eventually she stood up.
Chaewon sat down on the chair, opened the laptop, and went to the first website that she could find that sold Virtual Reality Pod.
She put in an order for one immediately.
"Ah... I really did it... I am so nervous..."
...
Fang Village, the House of the Fang Family, Patriarch Office.
"..."
With a knife and fork in hand, Fang Aizen cut the steak into perfect slices and stabbed the fork’s four tines into a small piece, bringing it to his mouth.
He munched on the piece, and an explosion of flavors filled his mouth with every bite.
Knock! Knock!
Someone knocked on the door. It was someone that he had been waiting for.
"Come in."
With his rugged tone, he said, and kept eating his late dinner while hearing the sound of the door opening.
Footsteps followed and stopped near the desk.
When he raised his gaze, he saw his daughter—Fang Anna—staring straight at him joylessly.
She had been in an extremely bad mood ever since her certain trip to the Megaworld, and the servants had to tiptoe around her to avoid setting her off.
"I heard you went to the Megaworld. Don’t tell me, my dear daughter, that you went to see him. I thought I told you to forget about him."
Aizen said with a hint of anger.
He was getting increasingly more pissed that he couldn’t control this rebellious daughter of his.
While his sons, Raizen and Raikou, were always obedient and followed his every command without question.
"I just went to see him because, you know, he is my brother, and I love him dearly. I think you’ve forgotten how to love someone."
Anna said coldly.
"Enough!"
Aizen slammed his hand on the table and angrily glared at his daughter, which managed to freeze her in place.
"I am tired of your insolence, Anna. You will respect me in this house. You will not leave this village until you’ve come to your senses!"
"..."
Anna clenched her fists and turned around to leave, but before stepping out of the office, she looked over her shoulder at him.
"I bring good news though. Raon’s vision has returned to him. He is getting better. Isn’t that wonderful news? You don’t have to feel embarrassed anymore about having a blind son!"
Anna screamed, stomped out of the office, and slammed the door shut hard enough to almost break the hinges.
"..."
Aizen looked at the door—he lost his appetite—and he put the fork and the knife down.
With a napkin, he dabbed his mouth and stood up.
"The treatment is working, huh... It better be. It is rather expensive, after all."
