Black Online-Chapter 148: Friend Request
"I’ll call you tomorrow again, alright?"
Chaewon looked at the phone with a smile, her heart fluttering with excitement for their next conversation.
"Okay."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
Then, she kissed the screen, saw Fang Raon’s face turn slightly flushed, and with a giggle, she ended the call.
She hugged the phone with a smile, and then she went to the gallery, and had about ten pictures of Fang Raon.
During the call, she was snapping some pictures of him with the phone’s screenshot app.
’Tomorrow I’ll probably hand in my resignation letter. I don’t have bad memories of that place, since it allowed me to meet Raon. But I want more free time now.’
Chaewon thought.
She then looked to the corner of her room—her Virtual Reality Pod had arrived—it arrived when she was at work.
Her mother let the deliverymen in, and they set up the pod in her bedroom while she was away.
She only noticed that it had come when her mother called during her break time.
’I’ll hand my resignation letter tomorrow, and when I am done with that, I’ll head back home, and enter that game for the first time.’
Chaewon thought with a nervous sigh.
She was actually feeling quite nervous, and hoped that she wouldn’t meet bad people in Black Online.
There had been some stories—which her mother talked to her about—about some players taking advantage of others.
However, she had also heard about some players meeting their friends inside the game. Lifelong friends. And even some couples are getting married in real life after meeting in the game.
...
"Huff! Huff! Huff!" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Within the dimly-lit room, Fang Raon was doing some push-ups after being done with the phone call with Chaewon.
Since he didn’t train today or yesterday, he felt like his body was growing sluggish, and he hated that.
The scene of Lock destroying him kept replaying inside his mind.
’I’ll just... Work even harder... I am not a quitter!’
Fang Raon gritted his teeth.
His arms were burning with exhaustion. Threatening to fall off. And yet he refused to give up.
Ding! Ding!
In that moment, he heard a rare sound coming from his phone. It only sounded when someone sent him friend requests.
The world’s most famous social media platform—Konnect—was what everyone used to contact friends from all around the world.
It was what he used when he texted and had a call with Chaewon.
It was possible to add people as friends via sending friend requests or just adding them with phone numbers.
’Someone sent me a friend request? How? I don’t think I have told anyone my phone number for them to add me.’
Fang Raon took the phone from the table and checked who the person was that sent him the friend request.
[Friend Requests - 1]
[Della Rose - Accept/Deny]
’Della... She must’ve gotten my phone number from Miranda. I’ll accept the request. I guess she also wants to be able to contact other members of the guild, so she must’ve added everyone else as well.’
He pressed "Accept" and another name appeared in her friends.

’I just noticed all my friends are girls. This reminds me that I need to add everyone from Fourth Line to friends as well. It’s good to have them in contact lists.’
Fang Raon decided to get everyone’s numbers tomorrow and add them once he logged out later that day.
Ding~ Ding~
At that moment, he received a message.
[Della: Hello :)]
’She sent me an message?’
Fang Raon looked surprise, and replied back.
[Raon: Hi]
Buzz~ Buzz~ Buzz~
The phone started buzzing as he suddenly received a call—it was from Della—and it was ordinary call.
’Now she is calling too?’
He gulped, answered the call, and put the phone against his ear.
"Hello, guild master?"
"Giggle~ You don’t need to call me as guild master when we are not inside the game. I don’t even like being called guild master!
"Just call me Della. I’ll call you Raon. Deal?"
She said with undoubtedly bright smile on her face as it was possible to hear her smile.
"Okay... Della."
Fang Raon wryly smiled.
But he still wondered what this call was actually about and believed that it must be regarding the upcoming raids.
With the Guild War done, they could finally start climbing the floors again, and honestly, Fang Raon was missing that quite a bit.
"I have a request for you."
Della said.
"Oh, what is it?"
Fang Raon asked.
"I am going to stream tomorrow. I do it every now and then, but I thought it was a good time now since my viewers are probably curious about the Guild War.
"During the stream, I will answer their questions, et cetera. Meanwhile, I’ll head over to the 9th floor. There is a little event going on over there, so I think it will be fun.
"However...
"I do need a cameraman. It is possible to let the game take over the camera, so it’ll just fly around and capture everything on its own.
"But I don’t like how it works. I like when it’s controlled by a person. I usually have Miranda with me, but she’ll be busy tomorrow.
"So, want to be my cameraman for tomorrow?"
Della asked.
’That’s quite an honor, but why me? I am sure she could get someone stronger to go with her.’
Fang Raon thought.
But he also didn’t have any reason to refuse, as he could see up close how one of the top streamers streamed.
"I’d love to go with you."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
He heard a sigh from the other end of the phone—as if Della was holding her breath—almost like she was nervous about the possibility of getting rejected.
"See you tomorrow then! Bye!"
With that, she ended the phone call—as suddenly as she called him in the first place.
’Event in the 9th floor... That could be interesting. I remember that floor and its quite eerie vibe—like the entire floor is haunted or something.’
