Black Online-Chapter 166: Raid!
"The bread will be 2 gold coins~"
The old lady smiled.
"Here you go."
Fang Raon handed her two coins and picked up the loaf of bread that was wrapped in a cloth napkin.
It was still really warm.
"Why do you want to eat that tasteless bread?"
Rock asked curiously as they walked down the main street of the Snowberry Village.
It wasn’t as empty as during the guild war days, and it was now filled with people buying food from the various vendors.
"I am feeling hungry. I don’t want to log off to eat. This game somehow tricks the real mind into thinking you’re no longer hungry if you eat here."
Fang Raon said and took a big bite of the bread.
It was warm, which he liked, but there wasn’t any taste really, just a vague sensation of breadiness.
"That can also be dangerous. I know some idiots spent several days inside the game, grinding for percentage, and since they ate here, they didn’t realize the real body’s need for food.
"When they finally logged out, they were starving and almost died of dehydration."
Rock said.
"I am not stupid. I know that. I just think that my body can wait for the night once I’ve logged off for food."
Fang Raon said and took another bite of the bread.
"It’s your body."
Rock shrugged his shoulders.
They headed straight back to the mansion and saw the guild members training in the yard—it was swordsmanship training today.
Waylen was the one teaching them.
He was one of the early students of Rock and learned his way of fighting under his tutelage, and he also had a knack for teaching others.
"Raon, the guild master is looking for you!"
Waylen shouted.
"Oh, alright."
Fang Raon nodded and started picking up his pace as he started heading straight towards Della’s office.
"What’s the hurry, huh? So excited to meet my granddaughter, are you?"
Rock asked coldly.
"She is the guild master. I don’t want to keep her waiting. It is just proper manners."
Fang Raon said.
With a sharp gaze, Rock looked at him, as if he didn’t really believe his reasoning, and followed him straight to the office.
Knock! Knock!
Fang Raon knocked on the office door.
"Come in!"
A voice came from inside.
And without further ado, Fang Raon opened the doors and stepped inside—there were only Della and Miranda inside.
"Ah, Raon~"
Della smiled, but then saw her grandfather following right behind him with a cold look, and she quickly removed her smile.
She awkwardly cleared her throat, straightened her back to look like a guild master, and looked straight at Fang Raon.
"We think you are finally ready to lead the 4th line in a raid. Congratulations."
She said.
"...Okay." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Fang Raon nodded.
There was no need for celebrations or anything like that because the raids were a serious matter.
It wasn’t something that one could take lightly because one mistake could mean death, so the responsibility was heavy, and Fang Raon knew that.
Especially since he was the team leader.
If he gave poor command, he could cause the deaths of multiple players and even the complete termination of the party.
"I want you to gather the 4th line and discuss the raid plan. If possible, we want you to complete the raid today."
Della said.
"Today? Why so soon?"
Fang Raon asked in surprise.
He would prefer couple days of planning before they were to execute the raid as it was the safest option.
"You all are already prepared as far as I can see, and the 15th floor boss is something you really can’t prepare for.
"The boss is always different with different attack patterns and phases. You will only know what you’re up against when you’re in there.
"It will be a good test of whether you can adapt quickly to changing situations.
"And today is a good time because we got the weather report for the upcoming week, and a snowstorm is coming.
"It will be a heavy snowstorm, so it will be impossible to get to the tower during that, and it might take two to three weeks to clear all the snow and make it safe for us to go up there."
Della said.
"Alright... I’ll talk with my team."
Fang Raon said.
"Good. We all believe you can do it. Be careful out there, and don’t take any unnecessary risks. If you get stuck in the boss room and you don’t think you can beat the boss, the door will re-open in 1 hour.
"Just buy some time, wait for the door to open, and then head straight back here, but of course, none of us want the raid to fail."
Della said.
Fang Raon nodded, bid his farewells, and sauntered out of the office room, feeling the weight of the impending mission on his shoulders.
He quickly contacted every member of the 4th line via the party chat window, and headed straight to the common room.
It was empty at this time of day, so it was a good place to group up and discuss the plan for the raid.
’It’s finally time. I don’t know why I am feeling this nervous. It should be a very routine raid. I don’t think the 15th-floor raid should be much harder than the 14th floor.
’And we are all level 3 as well.’
A short moment later, everyone from the 4th line started to arrive at the common room, wondering what this was about.
They were in the middle of training when they got the message.
"What is this all about?"
Machary asked.
Everyone looked at Fang Raon with that same question in their minds, and they saw him look rather serious.
"We’re going to attempt the 15th floor boss raid today."
Fang Raon said.
It came as total surprise to them all, but they also thought it was about time, and looked thrilled.
"Finally, we’ve been waiting for so long to continue climbing."
"Yeah, but we’re already going today over there? That seems very sudden."
They talked among themselves.
"I want you to all get stocked up with healing potions, mana recovery potions, and such. But before we do that, I want to discuss about everyone’s roles."
Fang Raon stood up.
Meanwhile, everyone sat down on the couches, and surrounded a table, where Fang Raon was standing.
