Chapter 460: My Pound of Flesh

*Bang!*

"SERANA!"

Malachi abruptly burst into Serana’s room in a disorganized panic.

This panic inevitably shifted into horror when he saw the body of a raven-haired goddess positioned between her legs.

"..."

"..."

Malachi slowly opened and closed his mouth.

"Here it comes.." Serana sighed.

Speechless, Malachi began gagging and his center of gravity became progressively lower.

He stumbled backward out of the room making unsavory retching noises and holding his stomach.

"I should be the one traumatized here, not you!" Serana snapped.

Little Janelle wandered up to her father just as he completely lost his mind.

"MY EYES! MY EYES!!!"

"Shut up! You’ve been grabbing my mom by the butt and calling her sweet cheeks for like three years now!"

"UGHHH, I’M GOING TO BE SICK!!!"

Serana jumped onto Malachi’s back and wrapped him in a fierce headlock. "You big baby, I should be the one crying and screaming here! You were the one who walked in on me! Mind you, I walk in on Anna fondling my mom like every other Tuesday!"

"I thought you were hurt! Joanne told me you almost died!"

"Long story short, I’m fine, and my wife was giving me physical therapy because she loves me!"

"SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPPP!!!"

"Consider this my payback for every time you put your man-whore lips on my mom in front of me! It’s not funny when you’re getting traumatized back, now is it, shithead!?"

"I never thought I’d say this but I wish you had gotten hurt worse! Maybe had a wildebeast take a bite out of your leg or something!"

"I’ll give you a wildebeast, you Conjuring reject!"

The two toiled on the ground for longer than they should have at their big ages.

Janelle was suddenly picked up by a calm Joanne.

She gave the creature an affectionate nuzzle amidst the sound of screaming obscenities. Neither of them really seemed to mind.

"Did I miss something here..?"

Tiamat wiped her lip sinfully.

"Oh... your husband might’ve walked in as my darling and I were about to assume relations... I don’t believe he saw anything, but it appears as though that doesn’t actually matter to him."

"I’M GOING TO PULL OUT MY EYES AND BEG SANTA CLAUS FOR A NEW BRAIN!"

"See?"

Joanne was starting to think she should have waited to tell Malachi about what happened while he was gone.

Walking in on Serana should have been traumatizing for the both of them, but it looked like her stepdaughter was using this opportunity for revenge.

Though as for why that was the case, Joanne was completely in the dark...

At some point during the process of attempting to strangle Mal with his own hair, Serana’s eyes softened a bit.

"You... you were really worried about me?"

"Of course I was, you dumbass...!" Malachi gasped for air. "I thought you were stupid enough to get yourself hurt..!"

Serana tightened her grip. "Why do I have to be stupid, huh?!"

"Because! What do you think it would do to the rest of us if we knew something happened to you!? Your mom would never forgive herself, your sisters would never stop crying, and I..."

Serana loosened her grip again. "...You what?"

Malachi bit his lip awkwardly. "...Don’t make me say it, it’s gay."

"Your Halloween costume was Huey not Riley, so stop saying bullshit and fess up!"

"Don’t wanna."

Serana clenched her teeth angrily. "I’ll tell my mom you were peeping on me while I was in the shower!"

"W-What?! She’ll never believe that, and besides I have witnesses!"

Malachi developed a crestfallen look when Tiamat flipped her hair and turned away. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"You seem like a nice boy, Malachi, but I can’t go against my little darling’s wishes."

Malachi’s jaw dropped.

He turned to his wife for help but found her behaving cutely with baby Janelle.

"We’re not involved in this nonsense, are we? No we’re not...! No we’re not..!" She cooed.

Malachi felt like a dog that had been left out in the cold to die.

"Say it!" Serana repeated forcefully.

"I would be pissed, okay?! You’ve been my family long before your mom and I got together, so how do you think I’m supposed to feel if someone tries to hurt you?!"

For a moment there was nothing but a lingering silence and the sound of Joanne playing with the kitten.

*Sniffle* "Y-You do love me!!!"

"Oh, my god..."

Serana suddenly began bawling all over Malachi; confusing him and inspiring a not-so-small amount of concern over her mental well-being.

All that Malachi could do was hold her while she cried aloud and rubbed her face into the fabric of his robes.

"It was so scary! I tried to keep everything that was happening to myself because I thought if I screamed you or the girls would hear with your mega super senses, and I didn’t want you guys to fly off the handle and sink all of Japan or something so-"

"It’s alright, Serana. I get it." Malachi held Serana tighter and closer to his chest than before. He spoke to her in a voice that was much softer than normal. "You’re gonna be okay, I promise you."

Serana suddenly stopped crying and pulled away. She was fraught with worry.

"Y-You’re not gonna do something crazy, are you? I already did something bad, you don’t need to go out and make a fucked up situation even worse. "

Malachi smiled subtly as he ruffled her hair. "...That’s not something you need to worry about. I’m a little bit more mature than you are if you haven’t noticed."

"Liking women with 401ks doesn’t make you some distinguished individual."

"It literally does though."

Serana hugged him again, this time with less desperation and a greater sense of affirmation.

With her facing away from him, Malachi’s smile faded instantaneously.

In his mind, that was perhaps the greatest testament to the fact that he had become altered in body and soul.

He had never lied so blatantly to Serana’s face before. And with such ease that he almost believed in himself.

But Malachi was a demon now, and something unspeakably precious to him had been touched. Harmed.

He wouldn’t have been able to let things go even if he wanted to.

And he very much did not.
