Chapter 450: CH450: HUMAN VS GRANIAN (PART 4)

[Hours later]

What started as an exciting duel for the Crimson Knight soon turned into a boring, painful exchange of attacks that offered little to no benefit to her.

Sure, she was getting a chance to exercise her dormant abilities and physical strength, but her opponent had become too easy—too predictable. Cherry had lost interest, and because of that, she stopped taking the fight seriously.

She effortlessly killed her Granian clone counterpart over twenty times, each time slightly harder than the last, but never impossible or overly difficult. Whenever it regenerated, Cherry would cut it in half, sever its head, drain its blood, or implode it—and each time, the clone would regenerate and return with a somewhat new but ultimately predictable fighting style.

"So much for adapting," she sighed, sitting on a rock as the Granian clone stumbled toward her.

One of its legs was crushed into its body. Its hip bone protruded through torn flesh, and its stomach hung open, its internal organs barely held in place. But something odd was happening.

"That’s strange."

Cherry sat upright and took a longer look at the clone, studying it more closely. She began to notice something, something that shocked her and sent a flicker of panic through Gravax.

The clone’s wounds weren’t healing as they normally would. In fact, they weren’t healing at all.

"It doesn’t last forever." Cherry realized, an eerie grin spreading across her face.

So the overly glazed and praised Granian sibling clones were not so invincible after all.

But why?

"Wait....don’t kill it..." Gravax muttered, but he was too far for the Crimson Knight to hear. "DON’T KILL IT, WAIT!!!"

It was too late.

Cherry formed a clean, perfectly shaped blood spike in her hand and thrust it forward with all her strength. The already weakened, dying, and barely alive Granian clone was pierced through its upper chest.

It couldn’t defend itself. Its hands were occupied trying to hold in its spilling organs, and it was too weak to deflect or dodge Cherry’s attack. It was now at the Crimson Knight’s mercy.

But that wasn’t all.

In the midst of their exchange, the Blood Prince caught a glimpse of Cherry’s Granian counterpart. He noticed the gaping wound in its stomach, its internal organs slipping through its bloodied fingers, and its chest bleeding out with a blood spike lodged in its chest.

’It’s not...healing?’ he realized, narrowly dodging another weak attack from his Granian counterpart. ’It’s not healing. Their healing factor’s not unlimited after all.’

For the first time since regaining consciousness, the Blood Prince smiled. The Granian sibling clones were not invincible after all, and just like him, they could be worn down and not keep regenerating forever.

The question was, how long could their regeneration last before their bodies gave out?

With that question in mind, Ace refocused his attention on his opponent. They had been fighting for over an hour, and with each exchange, Granian Ace grew slower. Its attacks weakened, though they still carried deadly intent.

The same couldn’t be said for the Blood Prince, though. If his energy dropped by even a point, he could replenish it using stored blood or simply purchase a revitalizing potion from his Blood Store, something he rarely needed to use.

Because of that, Ace could fight the Granian clone over and over again until it couldn’t fight anymore.

’Seems we’re getting to that state sooner than expected.’

Granian Ace didn’t look stable enough to keep fighting. Its breathing was heavy, uneven. Its heart pounded erratically as it struggled to form even a simple blood spike.

Even though it was close to being burnt out, the clone’s Granian nature refused it from showing its weakness.

In fact, the Granian was doing a good job at hiding its weakness. If any inexperienced soul looked at the clone, they wouldn’t notice its heavy breathing, its increased and uneven heart rate, and its increased blood pressure. To the untrained eye, it might have looked fine, but Ace saw everything.

"You’re not fooling anyone..."

He glanced at his system.

"Blood Revenant: Manifest."

[You have summoned Enoris The Seigeborn]

Standing side by side, Ace and his strongest Blood Warrior faced the weakened Granian clone with one intention.

To end it.

If Granian Cherry’s regenerative aspect had reached its limit, it also meant that Granian Ace’s had too. Now it was time to see just how much damage the weakened clone could truly withstand.

"Don’t hold back."

The command was given. Ace’s Blood Warrior lustfully charged at the clone with a brutal, unrestrained hunger to kill. After she and her fellow Commanders were defeated earlier, she held a personal grudge—especially against the clone that resembled her master.

The fact that it did so offended and agitated her, and since her desire was to fulfill her master’s will, Enoris became hell-bent on killing the clone as brutally as she possibly could.

"WAIT!!" shouted, rushing forward. "DON’T KILL IT, STAND DOWN!!"

Gravax’s words fell on deaf ears. By the time he got close enough, the Blood Warrior was already within striking distance of her enemy.

Granian Ace lashed out tendrils at Enoris, this time making sure to aim for her face.

Anticipating this, Enoris slammed her shield forward, stopping the tendrils in their tracks.

Before the clone could retract them, the giant of a Blood Warrior rose her shield with one hand, took one giant step forward, and drove her sword deep into the clone’s side.

The impact launched the clone backward, but Enoris was faster. She repositioned her shield behind it and crushed its body between shield and blade. The force was overwhelming on the clone, and because of that, its body was split apart.

But Enoris didn’t stop. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Before it could start to regenerate, Enoris slammed the remains of the clone’s body into the ground under the weight of her shield and began stomping its head repeatedly.

*BAM*

*BAM*

*BAM*

*BAM*

Each strike drove the clone’s mashed remains deeper into the earth until nothing was left but a crushed pool of blood, bone, and scales.

"Retreat!!" Ace commanded, and the Blood Warrior obeyed immediately.

A few seconds later, blood spikes erupted violently from the remains, forming a crimson, urchin-like structure. Had she stayed any longer, she would have been impaled—and likely absorbed.
