Blood Queen Reborn-Chapter 6: The Day Fate Changed
A boy with dark green hair and a light blue hoodie had a smaller boy pushed up against the wall.
"You should’ve listened to me when I told you not to go on the street," the dark green haired boy said, pushing against his neck.
"I swear, I didn’t mean to—" the smaller boy choked out.
"Save it for the doctor’s ears!" The larger boy said before slamming him into the ground.
That was when Quinn tackled the dark green haired guy, catching him off guard. Quinn couldn’t stand by and watch someone get beaten down. He had to do something.
"Oops! I didn’t see you there!" Quinn taunted.
Stumbling, the dark green haired guy got up, and Quinn started to realize just how big this guy was.
’Crap!’ Quinn thought before the larger guy backhanded his face.
Quinn crashed into the wall, and as he scrambled to get up, he was kneed in the face again.
From the corner of his eye, he saw the smaller kid run away. Even if he got beaten up now, which was all but guaranteed, then it was worth it.

As Erin was laying on the hospital bed, waiting to get cleared, she heard commotion going on at the entrance of the hospital. She moved aside the curtain to see that five people had apparently been teleported in with massive injuries. It looked like one of the poor kids had his head bashed into the wall.
"Get spots cleared for them immediately," the hooded man said to Hayley.
There weren’t any more empty beds for the kids to rest at, so Hayley had to have them lay on the floor. Once Hayley began using her ability to heal the kids, she knew that she wasn’t going to have a lot of built up MC for the rest of the night.
Looking at his watch, Erin saw that one of the kids was a level 1.1, which meant he had just barely begun to learn an ability.
When Hayley was done taking care of the last of the students, she went back to sit on the stool next to Erin with a bit of bad news.
"I’m sorry, but I’m not going to have enough MC to heal your injury," Hayley said. "Thankfully, so long as you keep it easy for the rest of the day, then you can come back tomorrow, and I’ll fix it right back up."
"What? So I can’t train?" Erin asked, getting up from the bed.
Hayley was both surprised and not surprised by how eager Erin was to get back to being active, but she remembered why Erin was in the hospital in the first place.
"It’s only going to be a day," Hayley reminded her. "I’d keep you here for the night, but this place is already swamped, and I need to have beds cleared just in case. Just be careful, or else there’s a chance your wound could open."
Erin frowned, but there wasn’t much she could do. It wasn’t like she had the ability to spontaneously heal her body, like those with a regeneration ability did.
Once Erin was cleared, she began heading back to her dorm room.
—
Quinn weakly lifted himself off of the ground and shakily got onto his knees. Not that long ago, a dark green haired kid had taken out his frustrations onto him, resulting in Quinn’s body getting littered in bruises, and his glasses bending into a crooked shape.
"Argh, not again," Quinn said out loud, taking them off.
His head was woozy, both from getting his blood drawn and from a beating. He didn’t want to add a third thing by getting a migraine because his glasses were broken. Thankfully, they were only bent at the nose bridge, meaning he was able to bend them back into place without any immediately noticeable issues.
Glancing over to a trash bin nearby, Quinn stumbled over to pick up his book that was hastily hidden behind it. He sighed in relief and began to walk back to his dorms. Quinn had already gone to the doctor’s office already that day, and he didn’t want to go again. Besides, curfew was within the hour, and all he wanted to do was sleep.
As Quinn was walking through the hallway, his mind was out of it, barely registering someone else walking the opposite direction as him. It was only when they were about to bump into each other did he realize that this other person had some blood on her, and it was too late to do anything about it.
The woman who he had bumped into shoved him back. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Look where you’re going!" she shouted before wincing in pain and bending over a little, grabbing the side of her torso.
Quinn stumbled back, dropping his book. He really was weak from everything that day. Without thinking, he scratched the back of his head instinctively as it stung a little. He forgot he had a cut there and looked back at his hand with a bit of his blood.
"Sorry, sorry..." Quinn mumbled, his gaze looking up to see the person he had bumped into.
It was a blonde haired girl with unmatched beauty, but a cold face. He recognized who this person was and remembered that her name was Erin. Immediately, Quinn felt bad as he noticed that there was now a small bit of blood on her hand. She most likely had been coming back from the hospital.
Erin was about to walk away, but seeing him all beaten up made her feel a little bad. In that moment, she realized that the boy she bumped into had done so by accident, not out of any challenge or bad intent. He was a level 1.0 after all. In her mind, she thought it was strange for someone to beat him up.
She turned around to help him pick up what he dropped. It wasn’t meant to be anything more than just a small gesture. Erin was just going to pick up the book, hand it to him, then leave.
However, when both of their hands were over the book, something strange happened.
What neither of them knew was that Quinn’s mysterious book could’ve only been opened from his blood, but not only was his blood on the book, Quinn’s blood donation earlier that day had allowed Erin’s bloodied hand to cause the book to suddenly glow.
The strange book floated into the air and opened right in front of their very eyes. The pages flipped through at a rapid pace, each one containing a strange written language that neither of them had seen before, but felt like they could understand. Then, once the book had flipped through all of its pages, it closed and flew into Erin’s body.
The last thing Erin saw in her vision was "Congratulations, you received the vam-" before her eyes fluttered closed, and she fell to the ground.
Quinn was in shock at the events that had just occurred. Not only did a girl suddenly pass out in front of him, but his ability book just disappeared! He just stared as his one chance at getting a decent life disintegrated and went to someone else who he knew already had an ability.
At first, Quinn’s brows furrowed, and he kicked the wall, and he silently screamed.
"Damn it, does the world hate me?!"
His frustration didn’t last long as he remembered there was someone in the same area as him who was currently knocked unconscious. Due to it being late in the day, and the hallway was not very close to a lot of the important rooms, there wasn’t anyone else around at the moment.
Then came the pressing issue. What did his book do to Erin?
