The once-mighty Alpha of the Moonviel Pack, her father, lay slumped in his throne, his chest pierced by silver claws. His once-commanding presence was reduced to a broken king, his lifeblood staining the black stone floor.
And the one who had struck him down... was Lucien.
Her brother, her own flesh and blood, stood before the pack warriors, his sharp features twisted in triumph. The once-loyal guards knelt before him, their heads bowed. He had taken the throne.
"You should have seen this coming, Celestia." His voice was cold, without a trace of remorse. "Our father was weak corrupted by a vampire whore. I did what was necessary."
Celestia's heart pounded against her ribs. This wasn't just about their father. This was about her.
"You betrayed our family," she whispered, her voice shaking with fury.
Lucien smirked, his silver eyes gleaming with cruelty. "No, dear sister. I saved it. And now..." He stepped closer, his aura suffocating. "I'll do what must be done. The Moonviel Pack needs a true Alpha. Not a weakling who hesitates."
Celestia barely had time to react before the warriors charged toward her.
Her instincts screamed run.
She turned on her heels, her long silver hair flowing behind her as she dashed toward the nearest exit. The hunt had begun.
********* The Hunt Begins************
Celestia's breath came in ragged gasps as she sprinted through the dark corridors of the Moonviel estate. The scent of blood and burning wood filled the air,her home was falling, and so was her legacy.
Behind her, the heavy footsteps of her brother's warriors echoed through the halls. They were hunting her.
"Don't let her escape!" Lucien's voice thundered through the chaos.
Celestia's heart pounded as she pushed forward, her bare feet slipping on the cold stone floors. She needed to get out, needed to survive.
She turned a sharp corner and reached the secret passage behind the library, one her father had shown her long ago. With a desperate shove, she pushed open the hidden panel and slipped inside, sealing it shut behind her.
Darkness swallowed her whole.
Her body trembled as she pressed her back against the cool stone wall, forcing herself to stay silent. Through the cracks, she heard the warriors storm past, their growls vibrating through the air.
I should have fought. I should have stayed.
But no,Lucien had planned this for too long. The betrayal ran too deep, and if she had stayed, she would have died alongside their father.
She swallowed the lump in her throat. Now wasn't the time to grieve.
Taking a steadying breath, she moved deeper into the tunnel, her fingers tracing the rough walls as she navigated through the underground escape route. This passage would lead her to the woods,to freedom.
But just as she reached the end of the tunnel and pushed open the stone exit, a shadow loomed before her.
Tall. Powerful. Predatory.
And unmistakably Vampire.
Celestia's body tensed as Draven Nightshade stepped into the moonlight, his piercing crimson eyes locking onto hers.
"Well, well, little wolf," he murmured, his voice dark and velvety. "Running from something... or someone?"
