Chapter 2194: Chapter 674: Big Guy, Big Brains (Part 2)

"Those guys are preparing to reap the benefits." Once the Demon Clan envoy had exited, the Mermaid Emperor couldn’t wait to mock his Demon Clan allies for their well-intentioned efforts: "Hey! The Aegean Air Force’s aerial bombs in the Battle of Sword Peak must have made them quite envious. If I’ve guessed correctly, the Demon Clan plans to first sweep through the Aegean to acquire the bomb-making technology, then turn around and use their air force and bombs to blast us back into the sea!" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Who said we don’t have an air force! Other shortcomings can be fixed, but having no air force is the one we can’t remedy!" The Siren Queen glanced meaningfully at the two guests before her throne: "The Demon Clan envoy wasn’t exactly bluffing—we hardly have any flying creatures in the sea!"

"Wishful thinking! Aerial bombs aren’t exclusive to the air force!" growled a Magic Shark general with a fierce voice: "Majesties, once we master the bomb-making technology and select a group of large, strong warriors as bomb throwers, we can crush any opponent on land!"

"General Solari, bomb-making technology won’t fall from the sky." The Mermaid Emperor raised his eyelids and squinted at the Magic Shark general: "Do you have the guts to give it a try? Beamon is too powerful, but I don’t believe we can’t handle that guerrilla faction at Sword Peak!"

"I am willing to ease my king’s worries!" The Magic Shark general immediately knelt on one knee: "However... Majesty, if you only wish to obtain bomb-making technology from this guerrilla faction, you don’t need to dispatch a large army; I believe... a few skilled warriors should suffice!"

"Skilled warriors? Solari, you make it sound so simple. The terrain near Sword Peak is so treacherous. Even though the enemy is just a guerrilla faction, they have strong bows and crossbows, just like a regular field army! Only a Master Magic Tutor-level expert can fly using magic power. How many of such experts does the Sea Clan have? If we send them to raid the Sword Peak guerrilla faction and Beamon and humans suddenly wage war on us, what then?" The Siren Queen burst into a cold laugh: "And don’t even think about sending the Sirens unless you can guarantee escort power; stop considering them!"

"It’s surprising that heroes from the vast ocean can’t organize a decent air force, worrying over even the smallest unit of an air raid." Emperor Beckenbauer sighed deeply, his expression a mix of despondency and the intense anger of unwilling failure.

Perhaps the broad impact of "vast ocean" and "blue water hero" broke some barriers, or perhaps the Mermaid Emperor’s self-pity sparked a competitive spirit, but as soon as Emperor Beckenbauer spoke, someone scoffed dismissively.

"If Your Majesty can’t achieve it, don’t drag all sea creatures down with you!" Among the two guests standing below the throne, a robust blue-skinned man couldn’t hold back and stood up, rudely and arrogantly chastising the Mermaid Emperor’s erroneous words: "It’s just a mere guerrilla faction, not even Aegean Dragon City! I’ll personally take a trip and capture that bandit leader for you!"

This blue-skinned man, other than being slightly robust, had no other noticeable external features. One couldn’t sense the rhythm of Elemental Fluctuation from his body, but daring to show such arrogance before the two Sea Emperors could only signify a not-so-simple identity.

"You personally taking action..." The two Sea Emperors gasped.

Such amateurish performance seemed a bit stiff at this moment; anyone perceptive could tell there was undisguised joy of a crafty plan succeeding in the eyes of the two Emperors—the blue-skinned man definitely didn’t see it, being high and mighty.

"No more need for words!" The blue-skinned man’s arrogant overbearingness quickly turned into rightful diplomatic privilege upon revealing his identity: "If I were an ordinary sea dragon, today I’d only eat crow with you! But for me, as a fifth-rank sea dragon, I can soar over Aegean lands without needing a water formation! Remember, today I’m not helping you but restoring the honor of our sea creatures! How could dignified Sea Clan stoop to mingling with the Demon Clan? Our ancestors used to hunt down Demon World giant dragons so thoroughly that they dared not cross the borders! As for land creatures, I can crush them with just a swipe of my claw!"

...

Once this indignant sea dragon hothead left, the two Sea Emperors and all the generals looked at each other and burst into laughter.

"Trading human artworks and crystals with the Demon Clan is indeed a great deal, without spending a penny to win over sea dragons; before, I thought sea dragons were too arrogant, too greedy, too powerful. Now I suddenly find them impulsive and adorable!" The Siren Queen laughed with wild abandon: "The Aegean Air Force numbers no more than five to six thousand; if Azure Dragon City deploys fully, surely they can defeat the Aegean Dragons along with those Aegean Air Force!"

"This is what they call money talks, even bringing the dead back to grind! Later, why not instigate the sea dragons further, telling them that the Demon World is full of crystals; doesn’t their Dragon Clan love those shiny treasures? Go, grab them!" Emperor Beckenbauer clapped his hands and laughed: "The Sword Peak battle actually did us a favor..."
