Bone Alchemist: Necromancer of The Aberrations-Chapter 71: Yvanna True Power, Paradox
Chapter 71: Yvanna True Power, Paradox
Jeremy had been reborn.
The law that defined him had evolved into an entirely new concept, foreign even to him.
In none of his memories had Okoron achieved anything like this.
From then on, it would be a real breakthrough.
It was all thanks to Cambela.
Thinking back, the boy’s gaze briefly rested on the woman’s.
After that, he merely looked to his right.
His Bone Legion generals had indeed become powerful.
But deep down, Jeremy knew it.
He knew that he could make them better than they already were.
His concept allowed him to do that.
He had no more limits.
But that would wait a while; after all, he was facing a very strong opponent.
Yvanna merely observed him without saying anything.
Then, a few moments later, a heavy sigh escaped her lips.
"Today’s young people are really too arrogant. They believe that after getting some power, they can defy everything and take their place in the world."
Her eyes closed as she brought a hand to her temple.
"But how can I blame you. I too was like you in the past."
A moment later, she appeared a few feet away from Jeremy.
"You know, I saw it..."
The tone of her voice became distant, almost pensive.
A glimmer of surprise appeared in the boy’s eyes.
He had not expected such speed. It was as if she had always been there.
Ever since Yvanna had accepted her inheritance, everything had changed.
Parallel realities. Not just one, but dozens, hundreds, thousands.
She had peered into every possible scenario, all with her mind. And in one of them she had seen a horrific scene.
An army of bony creatures covered everything.
The world itself no longer seemed alive, just an empty shell of what it had been.
Yvanna could have stopped the battle between devils and humans with ease, really, but she had chosen to appear weak.
She had observed an anomaly and wanted to understand if the thing that happened in the parallel reality would also occur here.
They were called "parallel" precisely because they were not real. But they could have become so.
"A guy with incredible power, able to control an incredibly large and powerful army. And you would have succeeded, too, had it not been for my presenting in this reality."
"So, I ask you. Are you going to face me-" she continued, pointing into the sky. "Or help me defeat that devil?"
Jeremy did not answer immediately; he simply stared at the woman.
Then, with a grin on his face, he simply replied.
"Of course I will help you-"
The empress’s serious expression softened, but only for a moment.
After all, what the boy said next made her uncomfortable.
"I don’t want strangers in my world."
With a hum, Yvanna turned her head to the other side.
"We’ll see."
Then she disappeared from her sight and appeared in the sky, where Gugistrum Yvanna was fighting the devil.
---
The battered body and bruised armor spoke volumes about the state of the fight, but the sharp, unwavering gaze of the paradox never wavered.
After all, she knew better than anyone that this was only a brief warm-up.
The moment the real Yvanna would arrive, things would change.
Malrik’s power was nothing to be looked upon lightly. Although he had released all his power, he was still holding back.
She could sense it.
Not that it was hard to tell.
His attacks were bland, lacking sharpness and real power.
Moreover, his giant smile had never left his face.
His attention was elsewhere.
But although she was just playing and stalling, Parallel Yvanna had suffered numerous blows. They were not lethal, but they made her realize that she could not afford the luxury of distraction.
This struggle went on for a brief minute, but it was enough for her to realize that she had no chance.
But she was not worried.
The real Yvanna was coming. They had communicated mentally before, so she already knew the original’s plan.
After all, they were the same person, even though they belonged to two different realities.
Their thoughts were connected.
And indeed, after taking a beating for a full minute, the real Yvanna appeared.
"Oh, you’re back." Malrik’s voice appeared very relaxed. "So? Will he join you in the fight against me, the invader?"
Yvanna answered with a simple hum.
Then, next to her appeared again the Nodum from which she brought out the beasts and Gugistrum Yvanna herself.
But that was not all.
Dozens of other Nodums appeared simultaneously, each representing a different parallel reality.
With a flash of light, a strangely familiar-looking creature appeared from each of these Nodums.
Yvanna.
Dozens of empresses appeared next to the original.
Then, they charged against the devil.
There was no dialogue between them; after all, they were connected. They knew what they had been called for and what they were supposed to do.
"Just hold back. Let’s see how far you can go before you die."
"Ah... interesting," murmured Malrik. "So many versions of you. Let’s see which of you will fall first."
A drop of blood appeared on the tip of one of his fingers.
"Offering of the Sinful Blood."
His voice sounded ancient, as if he were participating in a ritual of some kind.
And indeed he was.
He was offering his blood to the infernal judge, Hades, In exchange for power.
"Power-up attack-"
He did not have time to finish the words that an evil aura covered everything.
Although it had only been a moment, that evil aura imprinted itself on every living thing.
It was frightening.
Even Yvanna herself frowned. Sweat dripped from her forehead.
"What the heck-" she exclaimed, panicked. But she quickly composed herself. She knew that a being of that magnitude would not intervene in that confrontation.
However, unlike what one might think, even Malkir himself was taken aback by it. It had never happened before.
For a moment he believed the worst.
He himself, firsthand, had clearly sensed what had happened.
Hades’ gaze descended on this world.
But it was not directed at him.
Not even to Yvanna.
In that instant, the infernal judge’s gaze was locked on the boy, no longer human, named Jeremy.
And the person concerned knew it.
And how he knew it.
His breath froze for a few seconds before he recovered.
Despite being arrogant, Jeremy knew what he could and could not do. And that evil aura, that gaze that fell on him for less than an instant, had marked him.
It felt as if he had been read through.
"There are really a lot of twisted concepts out there. This Malrik is one we need to add to our collection."
Jeremy said as he looked toward Cambela after recovering.
The devil woman, too, was shaken by it all, but to a lesser degree than Jeremy. After all, the look was not directed at her.
She gave a brief nod before adding.
"Well, but I’m not sure if the Elixir of Control can work on him...his concept-no, his law is really strong. Imagine his power in the form of a concept. It would be really scary."
For a moment silence fell.
"Of course he couldn’t hold a candle to you, Master-"
"No, you’re right. It is strong." Said Jeremy, raising a hand to interrupt the woman.
"So," her gaze turned to her generals. A smile full of expectation naturally formed on her face. "Let’s not waste time."
