Booking Glory-Chapter 72: Diana’s Ascent - Part 2
The first one to come out of the curtain was Evelyn Carter. Her music blared and the crowd looked at the curtain in interest. They knew it has been a few weeks since the match where both Evelyn and Selena got counted out by the official.
Ever since then, they haven’t heard from both of them. So, they were naturally eager to know what was in store this week. Evelyn didn’t pander to the crowd much. She walked towards the ring with a purpose. Her face spoke of her determination and her current mood clearly.
Evelyn looked angry for some reason as she stepped into the ring. She grabbed the microphone from the helper unceremoniously and started pacing inside the ring angrily.
"Selena, I know you are out there in the back," Evelyn spoke bluntly looking at the entranceway. "Listen bitch, I am not done with you yet. The last time you lucked out on a technicality. And it has been bothering me for weeks now."
"I am sick and tired of waiting for a chance to get my hands on you. So, you get your ass out here right now, we can finish this business between us once and for all. I don’t give one whit if the people in the back approve of a match or not. I am not waiting any longer."
Evelyn spat into the microphone and paced angrily inside the ring like a caged tiger. The crowd went nuts hearing her speech. They were also eager to see these two go at each other with reckless abandon.
As the crowd started cheering, Evelyn started pacing inside the ring angrily waiting for Selena to come out. A few moments passed and Selena’s music never played and the crowd started to calm down a bit.
But, Evelyn was having none of that. She looked at the entranceway angrily and then talked into the mic.
"You know what, if you ain’t coming down that ramp into this ring, then I am gonna come back there and drag your ass down here," Evelyn threw the microphone and started to make her way to the ropes to get out of the ring.
The crowd once more cheered at the promised violence. Just as Evelyn hopped down from the apron and started making her way back, Selena’s music hit, and out came Selena running towards Evelyn.
The crowd cheered both her appearance and the promise of a fight. Selena didn’t walk down the ramp. She ran down the ramp and jumped upon Evelyn without speaking a single word.
Evelyn and Selena started duking it out in front of the ring holding nothing back. Eventually, Evelyn got the upper hand and sent Selena running into the steel steps that were placed outside.
Selena slammed into the steel steps hard and fell down. Evelyn neared her and grabbed her by the hair and lifted her up. She picked up Selena and put her on her shoulders.
The crowd was already excited to see both of them duking it out. However, it seemed like Evelyn was going to absolutely destroy Selena here. The crowd got agitated as Evelyn lined up in the direction of the opposite ring post with Selena on her shoulders.
The crowd went quiet for a moment as they realized what Evelyn was going to do here. The moment they sensed another possibility of violence they started cheering once more as Evelyn ran towards the post with Selena on her shoulders.
However, Selena wasn’t done yet. She still had some fight left in her. She wriggled out of Evelyn’s hold on her and landed on her feet behind Evelyn. By now, Evelyn was near the post and facing it.
Selena pushed Evelyn forward without any extra words, sending Evelyn crashing into the ring post as she staggered back a little. Evelyn crashed into the ring post and fell to the side of the ring. She slowly staggered back up to her feet and entered the ring all the while shaking out her cobwebs.
Selena too entered the ring and they both once more went at each other holding nothing back. It started to look like a real catfight in the ring and the crowd was pretty excited to see it.
Just then, people started pouring out of the curtain in security and worker uniforms. They got into the ring quickly and tried to separate the duo. However, their efforts were in vain.
Neither Selena nor Evelyn wanted to be stopped.
They both kept coming at each other repeatedly, despite the security personnel trying desperately to restrain them. In the end, both of them were separated into opposite corners.
The crowd was once more reminded of how the build-up for the historic Triple Threat Match began. It was similar to this with Evelyn and Selena going at each other. However, there was no Diana added to the mix here. So, they once more took up their chanting.
<Let them fight!!!>
<Let them fight!!!>
<Let them fight!!!>
However, the security and the officials were having none of it as they dragged Selena outside of the ring. A few others restrained Evelyn in the other corner as she struggled to get past them and attack Selena.
Soon, the officials cleared everyone from the ring and took both Selena and Evelyn back into the curtain, much to the disappointment of the crowd in general. But, the crowd was already hyped up by this point.
They were actually here to see how the confrontation between Dacey and Diana played out. But, this surprise was exciting enough for them to get out of their seats and enjoy it. They never expected such a story to begin between Evelyn and Selena.

"Looks like the bad blood between these two ladies have reached the point where it couldn’t be contained any longer," Irvin commented as the calm once more returned to the arena. "Rob, Dallas, your thoughts on this."
"You are right, Irvin. It looks like they absolutely loathe each other now. I am actually looking forward in seeing how Mr. Gibson is going to handle this," Dallas commented.
"I say, if they want to fight, let them fight. Why do you need to separate them like this?" Rob complained.
"Well, Rob, there was no match scheduled for either of these women tonight. What happened was a pure reality where these two women couldn’t wait till a match," Irvin replied.
"In that case, Mr. Gibson better book a match for those two. From what I saw out there, I can assure you that this is going to happen again and again until a match was sanctioned by Mr. Gibson," Rob said chuckling a little.
"You may be right there Rob," Dallas nodded agreeing with Rob.
"Wait for a minute guys, I am hearing some information from the back. Oh..." Irvin trailed off as if listening to something that was being told to him over the headphone. "Well, Rob, Dallas, you may have your wish sooner than you think. I just got confirmation from the back. Folks, it is official. Evelyn Carter will face Selena Sanchez next week, live on <Fyre>."
"Looks like Mr. Gibson worked fast on that," Rob commented chuckling as the crowd erupted in approval.
"Wait a minute Rob, it is just not that. I am not done yet. Evelyn and Selena will be facing each other in not just any other match, but in a Falls Count Anywhere match," Irvin said gleefully causing Rob to open his mouth wide in shock.
"You are kidding. No way, there is no way, Mr. Gibson booked such a match for next week on live television," Rob said as if he was shocked.
"Believe it or not, that is the official confirmation I just received," Irvin shrugged causing Rob to cheer excitedly.
Along with Rob, the crowd cheered in excitement as well. Since usually these kinds of special matches were reserved for PPV, it was completely new to the crowd to see such a match booked for a weekly show.
"I say, it makes sense. Can you imagine these two women abiding by any other rules with the amount of loathing they have for each other?" Dallas said chipping in.
"Absolutely," Irvin agreed, "for those of you who don’t know what a Falls Count Anywhere match is, let me explain it to you briefly. In a Falls Count Anywhere match, the only way for you to win is to pin your opponent. It doesn’t matter if it is inside the ring or outside it. There will be no disqualifications, no count outs, and definitely no submissions."
"Don’t you think it would be a disadvantage for Evelyn? After all, she is a submission specialist," Rob asked curiously.
"Then she better prepare something to bring out next week. It is what it is," Dallas said cooly causing the discussions to erupt among the crowd.

The showed rolled by stoking the anticipation of the crowd bit by bit. And it was near halfway, yet there was no hide or hair of Dacey or Diana yet on the show.
Todd looked bored as he watched yet another generic match take place inside the ring. He felt that these bouts that made him interested earlier this year were lacking some inherent element to them and was coming of merely average these days.
The reactions of the audience around him were a pretty good indicator of that as well. Apart from that opening segment with Evelyn and Selena, nothing had stood out for him yet in this show.
Based on the reactions coming from nearby, he felt that the others felt the same way too. He had recently begun to notice a trend in LWC. Any segment that Rob Williams had a hand in booking was really grabbing eyeballs.
On the other hand, the other segments, except for the main event scene, were becoming more and more mediocre of late. The crowd was just not into them anymore. It looked as if the crowd had tasted some delicious meal and was no longer satisfied with mediocre dishes any longer.
Todd felt that Rob Williams had something unique in all his segments. The level of intensity his segments bring to the table were head and shoulders above the typical segments that were booked by LWC management.
It is a pity that he was relegated to booking the women’s division for now. If he could only be given more power, he would put out first class shows week in and week out.
Getting back to the segment with Evelyn and Selena, Todd noticed that there wasn’t much going around in it to be honest. Even Evelyn’s promo wasn’t anything great. However, those few lines were enough to work up the audience’s appetite big time.
He had to admit that the announcement later on took him off-guard as well. As per his sources, Evelyn vs Selena was going to be the second match for the women’s division at the upcoming PPV.
However, LWC was giving away such a huge match on live TV. This made no sense to him. And to be honest, no other promotion had done anything like this before as well.
Usually, promotions tend to hoard these big matches for the PPV card. And with the amount of interest that Evelyn and Selena have generated so far, no promoter in his sane mind would waste such a match on live TV.
The match between the duo and the stipulation for it perfectly fit the theme of the next PPV as well. So, he was at a loss when it came to the reasoning behind throwing away such a match on live TV. After all, that match was worth a slot in the PPV card in his opinion.
Currently, he was really curious about what was Rob going to put out on PPV, if he is willing to throw away such a match on live TV. Whatever was in the plans must have been something big for Rob to throw away such a good prospect.
If this rivalry has been built for a few more weeks like how it was done with Dacey and Diana, Todd was sure that it would generate at least half the amount of interest that Dacey vs Diana did.
To give away such a great opportunity on free TV was really unheard of.
He was sure that this match was going to severe ripples across the wrestling circle. LWC has been growing strongly for the past few months and Todd was sure that there were some other promotions out there that were feeling threatened because of that as of late.
While everyone’s attention was on the turmoil in AWF, LWC shouldn’t have done something like this to attract their attention. He knew that things would become hard for LWC in the upcoming weeks, but he didn’t worry about it much.
He had complete confidence in Rob Williams’s ability to book interesting stuff and keep people’s interest fixed on LWC. The big question here was, will LWC allow Rob Williams to keep shining like this for the foreseeable future or will there be some changes coming soon?
Just then, Dacey Surestone’s new music hit, causing the crowd to start booing loudly.
*****
The moment Dacey’s music hit, the crowd went absolutely ballistic. They started booing her loudly even before she came out of the curtain. And Dacey’s entrance music having the theme of a rebellion seemed a perfect foil for such a negative response.
Dacey didn’t step out of the curtain for some time. The boos slowly started to taper off as they realized that Dacey wasn’t out yet. And right at that moment, Dacey stepped out of the curtain with a smirk on her face and LWC Women’s Championship upon her waist.
She sauntered over cockily and looked at the crowd provocatively. She walked from one end of the entrance stage to the other displaying her belt to everyone present in the crowd, before making her way to the center.
With an insufferable smirk on her face, Dacey looked down at the crowd from the entrance stage and removed her belt. The volume of the boos rose exponentially when Dacey lifted the championship above her head and posed to the crowd.
Despite the constant boos and constant hecklings, Dacey stood there as if she wasn’t being booed out of the building and posed for a few moments. After taking her sweet time, Dacey put the belt on her shoulders and patted it as if she was showing it off.
Just when everyone thought Dacey was done with her showboating, Dacey looked at the crowd with a cocky smile and flipped them off in one hand, raising the belt above her head in the other hand.
Before the crowd could even get in their boos, pyros went off and congratulatory papers started flying down from above dumbfounding the crowd with the level of sheer arrogance on display.
Amidst falling congratulatory papers and constantly going off pyros, Dacey stood there with a smirk on her face. One hand flipping the crowd off, the other raising her championship above her head.
Even her detractors couldn’t help but admit the picture she painted at that moment was impactful.
