Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 96: Year: 2130
Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Year: 2130
Aurora thought she was overthinking—until one evening when Olivia sat beside her, her expression clouded with worry.
"Aurora," Olivia murmured, brushing a stray hair from Aurora’s forehead. "Alex has been avoiding us."
Aurora, though unable to respond, felt her chest tighten.
"He was always distant, but now... it’s different," Olivia continued.
"At first, I thought he was just busy, but even when I try to contact him, he only responds with vague answers."
Silence filled the room.
Olivia exhaled, frustration flickering in her eyes.
"Something’s wrong, Aurora. I know it."
Aurora wanted to shake Olivia, to tell her to go find Alex immediately, but all she could do was listen in silence.
Another week passed. Alex didn’t show up once.
Then, one night, Emily rushed into Aurora’s hospital room, her face pale.
"Olivia!" she called, her voice urgent.
Olivia, who had been dozing off in the chair, jolted awake. "What is it?"
Emily hesitated before whispering, "It’s Alex. He’s in trouble."
Aurora’s heart tightened.
What?
How?
Aurora wanted to know, but she couldn’t move her body. She only felt even more sleepy.
........
A dull ache pulsed in Aurora’s temples as she slowly opened her eyes.
Blinking against the soft glow of the overhead lights, she inhaled deeply, the sterile scent of antiseptic and fresh linens filling her lungs.
She was in a hospital.
But something felt... off.
The room was nothing like the one she had been in before.
Instead of the small, standard hospital room she had expected, she found herself lying in an incredibly spacious, luxurious VIP suite.
The walls were sleek and modern, with soft golden lighting embedded in the ceiling.
A state-of-the-art medical monitor beeped softly beside her, displaying her vitals.
The bed was ridiculously comfortable, covered in silk sheets, and a massive window overlooked a futuristic cityscape with towering skyscrapers made of gleaming glass.
Aurora frowned.
What the hell?
Had Emily moved her to another hospital? Why?
Before she could dwell on it, the door suddenly swung open.
A team of doctors and nurses rushed inside, their eyes wide with shock. One of the doctors, an older man with silver-rimmed glasses, nearly dropped the tablet in his hands.
"She’s awake?!" he exclaimed, his voice thick with disbelief.
Aurora blinked at the sudden attention.
A younger doctor, a woman in her early thirties, quickly approached her bedside and took her pulse.
"Miss Waters, how do you feel? Are you experiencing any dizziness? Nausea? Do you remember what happened?"
Aurora, still groggy, frowned.
"I feel fine... Just a little disoriented," she admitted. "Why are you all looking at me like that?"
The older doctor stepped forward hesitantly. "Miss Waters, do you know your name?"
Aurora gave him a confused look. "Of course, I do. My name is Aurora Waters."
A collective sigh of relief passed through the room.
"Thank God," the young female doctor muttered under her breath.
Aurora, now fully alert, narrowed her eyes. "Why are you all acting so shocked? By the way, what year is it now?"
A strange silence filled the room. The doctors exchanged uneasy glances.
Then, the older doctor hesitated before saying, "Miss Waters... the year is 2130."
Aurora felt her breath catch in her throat.
For a moment, she thought she had misheard him.
"...What?"
The young doctor placed a reassuring hand on Aurora’s arm
"It’s alright, Miss Waters. You were unconscious only for 2 months!"
"No, you don’t understand!" Aurora almost shouted.
When she fell into a coma, it was 2025! How could over a century have passed? How was that even possible?
Her hands trembled as she clutched the bedsheets, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.
"That... that can’t be right."
A sudden, desperate thought seized her. "Give me a mirror," she demanded.
The young doctor hesitated but eventually handed her a small handheld mirror.
Aurora’s fingers trembled as she raised it to her face.
The moment she saw her reflection, a shaky breath escaped her lips.
Her fiery red hair cascaded down her shoulders, still vibrant and full.
Her gray eyes stared back at her, wide with shock. Her skin was smooth and unblemished.
Relief flooded her system. At least... at least she was still herself.
But the relief was short-lived.
Soon, the doctor took out their phone and called someone,
"Hello? Mr. Mike? Your daughter has woken up!"
Mr. Mike?
Daughter?
No. That wasn’t right. That wasn’t possible.
"My father’s name is Adam," Aurora stated firmly, her grip tightening on the sheets.
"Who the hell is Mr. Mike?"
The doctors exchanged glances again, this time with concern.
The older doctor hesitated before stepping forward.
"Miss Waters... I need you to stay calm. There may be some disorientation due to your prolonged unconscious state."
"Three years isn’t prolonged," Aurora snapped, her frustration boiling over. "And I know my own father."
Before the doctor could say anything else, the door burst open.
A tall, broad-shouldered man with salt-and-pepper hair strode inside, his dark blue eyes sharp with emotion.
He looked to be in his early fifties, dressed in an expensive-looking black suit.
His expression was stern, and he looked at Aurora with a displeased expression,
"So you are finally awake? Now tell me, why did you push your brother downstairs? Don’t you have even a bit of humanity in your heart?"
"Eh? Brother? Which brother? Lucas? Theodore? Or are you talking about Alex? But wait! I was in a coma for three years, and before I fell into a coma...I was admitted to the hospital! How come I will have the time to push anyone?"
Aurora’s voice rang out sharply in the room, her disbelief evident.
Mr. Mike’s expression darkened.
"Stop pretending, Aurora. You know exactly what you did. If it weren’t for your recklessness, your brother wouldn’t be in a critical condition right now."
Aurora felt her breath hitch. Critical condition?
No, none of this made sense.
"Listen to me," Aurora said, forcing her voice to stay calm. "I don’t know who you think I am, but I swear to you—I did not push anyone."
