Born Sacred-Chapter 31: Beginning Of The Catastrophe
"Everything is ready."
Time to enter the instance.
[You have selected Trial Instance: Beginning of the Catastrophe]
[Please select difficulty: Easy, Ordinary, and Difficult]
Unlike zero-order instances which only have one difficulty, First Order instances have three difficulties to choose from.
"Ordinary."
Noah made his choice.
If it were just him, he would definitely choose the highest difficulty, but there were four other people. He didn’t know their situation, so for their first cooperation, it was better to play it safe.
[Your team meets the instance requirements, do you wish to enter?]
"Yes."
After the familiar countdown, a beam of light enveloped Noah, teleporting him into the instance.
[Trial Instance: Beginning of the Catastrophe]
[Rank: First Order]
[Difficulty: Ordinary]
[Task: Survive in Vespera City for 24 hours or kill the Virus Source Entity]
[Content: A meteorite fell from outer space onto the planet, burning up completely in the atmosphere, leaving only a fist-sized fragment. It landed in the suburbs of Vespera City. A child found this fragment and brought it home. No one expected that a highly contagious and terrifying virus survived within the fragment. The child’s family was the first to be infected. Due to the virus having a seven-day incubation period, no one noticed anything unusual. As they moved around, the virus spread at an alarming rate, infecting the entire Vespera City. The crisis was about to erupt...]
"A bio-zombie type instance."
Just as Noah finished receiving the system prompt information, he heard a sigh of emotion. The person speaking was Rose.
"Bio-zombie type instances have one characteristic: lots of monsters. Correspondingly, their individual strength tends to be weaker. This is quite suitable as our first instance to get used to working together," Noah explained.
Although with his strength, he could completely crush the instance.
But Noah wasn’t planning to do that anymore.
He did that in the zero-order. He was responsible for slaughtering, while Claire and the others were responsible for cheering him on. As a result, they all got the lowest rating and could only get the minimum rewards.
They fell behind later.
It was understandable that Claire and the others had low Talent levels and limited potential.
The ones teamed up now were elites from the Supernatural Management Bureau. It wouldn’t be right for Noah to harm their potential.
"You’re the captain, everything is up to you," Rose replied.
Noah nodded slightly and looked at his four teammates.
First was Claire. She was wearing a combat suit with a bulletproof vest over it, a steel helmet on her head, holding an assault rifle, and carrying a heavy backpack on her back, practically armed to the teeth.
Also fully armed like Claire was Zara, an Awakener with a space-type Talent.
Her Talent had strong life-saving ability, but her offensive ability still depended on equipment.
However, she was holding a sniper rifle.
Rose was much more lightly equipped. Although she also wore a combat suit and carried weapons, she wasn’t as bulky as Claire and the others.
The last person was a burly man two meters tall with a square face and bulging muscles all over his body, giving a sense of immense power. Unlike Rose and the others, he carried a thick steel greatshield.
"Let’s introduce ourselves first. My name is Rose. My Talent is SS-grade, Absolute Decree. It allows me to formulate temporary laws within a certain range, making targets comply. It can be used for offense, defense, or support," Rose said first.
"Hehe, my name is Zara. My Talent is S-grade space Talent. I can move between two coordinates and take people with me, but there’s a cooldown." Zara raised the sniper rifle in her hand: "I’m in charge of sniping."
"Smith, SS-grade defense Talent. It can greatly reduce attacks directed at me and can provoke enemies. I’m in charge of defense and drawing aggro," the burly man said concisely.
"Uh, I’m Claire. My Talent is E-grade, and it doesn’t really do anything, but my marksmanship is good." Seeing the other three looking at her, Claire quickly said.
Her teammates were either S-grade or SS-grade, which made her feel immense pressure.
Seeing that all four had stated their situations, Noah smiled and said: "I thought there might be a teammate with an SSS-Level Talent."
"Awakened with SSS-Level Talent are hard to find," Rose shook her head slightly and explained: "According to probability, our Starfall Country should have around thirteen or fourteen Awakened with SSS-Level Talent, but the reality is different."
"Although it’s called mass awakening, only people aged 16 and above have awakened their Talents."
"People under 16 also have status panels, but their Talent display is unclear and not fully formed. They cannot learn skills or enter instances."
"Excluding this group, the current number of Awakened with SSS-Level Talent in Starfall Country does not exceed 10."
This is only theoretical and doesn’t represent the actual number.
Only a day and a half have passed since the mass awakening. It was already incredibly fast for Starfall Country to establish the Supernatural Management Bureau and complete the statistics of Awakened within the system in such a short time. It’s unknown how long it will take to complete the statistics for the entire country.
There are only a few Awakened with SSS-Level Talent currently active on the forums, and not all Awakened with SSS-Level Talent are willing to join the Supernatural Management Bureau.
As far as Rose knew, currently within the Supernatural Management Bureau, excluding Lucian as an exception, there were only two Awakened with SSS-Level Talent in total, one in Avalon and one in Oakhaven. The main force of the law enforcement teams in various places was still composed of Awakened with S-grade and SS-grade Talents. SS-grade ones were, without exception, all at the captain level.
When selecting Noah’s teammates this time, neither of the two Awakened with SSS-Level Talent were chosen.
It wasn’t that they weren’t strong, but considering that Awakened with SSS-Level Talent are currently the people with the highest Talent level, they all possess their own arrogance and strong self-confidence. Even if they were told the inside story, they might not be convinced by Noah. To avoid unnecessary conflict, they simply weren’t selected.
Of course, Noah didn’t care whether there were Awakened with SSS-Level Talent in the team; he just needed to make up the numbers.
"Since everyone is so straightforward, I won’t be stingy either." Noah’s gaze swept over the four people, and he said seriously: "As the captain of the small team, I’ll introduce myself."
"Noah, SSS-grade Talent. The effect is very simple: as time passes, I will unconditionally become stronger."
"I’m responsible for ending everything."
