Chapter 45: The Invincible Noah

Noah nodded slightly: "Let’s go."

The Boss battle officially began. The moment they attacked the Boss, tens of thousands of infected in Vesnera City seemed to receive a signal and rushed towards the North Suburb at full speed.

There were three Bosses: one inside a processing plant, one inside a residential area, and one on a wide suburban road.

The first Boss Noah and the others chose to attack was located in a processing plant, which was also the westernmost one.

Noah, fully utilizing Thunder Shadow Step, felt a burst of lightning explode within him, instantly flowing through his limbs and bones, allowing him to reach extreme speed in an instant. With the faint sound of wind and thunder, he charged towards the mountain of flesh that was the Virus Source Entity.

The Virus Source Entity didn’t react at all until Noah struck it several times consecutively with his sword, taking away a part of its body. Only then did it let out a roar and raise its arm to smash down.

However, before its attack could land, Noah suddenly stomped the ground.

"Boom~"

Within a ten-meter radius, the factory floor shattered everywhere. A nearby factory building, its wall facing this side, collapsed with a crash. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

The Virus Source Entity’s attack suddenly paused, as if it had suffered a great impact, and it was stunned for a second. Noah struck down with two swords, taking advantage of the opportunity to chop off both of its swollen arms.

The power of the Excellent-grade Stomp had significantly increased; it could even stun a Difficult instance Boss for a second.

Not far away, Rose and the others were stunned.

They hadn’t expected Noah’s strength to grow to such an extent after six hours of rest.

He was practically treating the Boss like a son, his suppression of the Boss was even stronger than that of a Normal instance Boss. The greatsword in Noah’s hand displayed power far exceeding what it had before.

Invincible.

"I’m so envious." The envy in Zara’s eyes was practically overflowing.

Rose and the others weren’t far behind.

The four of them had only one thought.

The talent that unconditionally became stronger with time was simply too unfair.

"Open fire."

While envious, the four’s attacks didn’t stop. Even Smith pulled out an assault rifle and continuously fired at the Virus Source Entity. Although he had an SS-grade defensive talent, Smith wasn’t confident in blocking the Boss’s attacks. Instead of going up to his death, it was better to stay far away and get some assists.

The Virus Source Entity had too much health and its recovery ability was too strong. Even though Noah disabled its attack capability in one encounter, causing it to enter a cycle of being injured, recovering, being injured... becoming a pure target, it still took the five of them three minutes to completely finish it off.

"The second one."

Without the slightest pause, the five rushed towards the Virus Source Entity located on the suburban road.

During this time, Zara moved onto a building and looked towards the city, seeing the endless stream of infected rushing towards them. Her face instantly turned pale with fright.

Some of the infected closer to the North Suburb had already entered the area and were rushing towards them.

"Kill."

After hearing Zara’s report, Noah’s expression remained unchanged and he immediately began killing. It was still the old routine: get close first, then stun, disable the Virus Source Entity’s counterattack capability, and then it was a matter of grinding down its health.

Halfway through the fight, roars came, and dozens of infected arrived first, launching attacks on them without hesitation.

Rose and the others also stopped attacking the Boss and unleashed their remaining limited ammunition on these infected. Smith fully activated his talent, attracting the attention of all the infected, and was surrounded and beaten violently.

Each of these infected was comparable to an Elite monster in a Normal instance, not to mention that there were also Elite monsters from the Difficult instance mixed in. The yellow light on Smith’s body was instantly broken.

Just at this critical moment, Noah suddenly withdrew, like a flash of lightning sweeping across the battlefield.

Dozens of infected were cut in half at the waist.

"You guys hide." Glancing at the still-shaken Smith, Noah said indifferently.

Rose and the others were decisive, knowing that their presence had become a burden, and immediately moved away from the battlefield. Anyway, the infected’s target was to reinforce the Boss, so as long as they didn’t directly run into them, they wouldn’t be seen as attack targets by the infected.

Zara, on the other hand, grabbed Claire and moved to a nearby tall building, observing the battlefield from above.

A moment later, Rose and Smith also arrived, and the four of them gathered together.

"The Difficult instance is too exaggerated. I thought it was already very Difficult coming here from the city, but I didn’t expect the Boss battle to be ten times harder." Zara said with a bitter smile, "Is this difficulty serious? It just feels too outrageous."

"Mm." Claire also nodded, "Compared to the Normal instance, the leap in the Difficult instance is very large. Besides Noah, I can’t think of anyone else who could clear it."

Smith silently looked down.

Noah circled around the mountain of flesh that was the Virus Source Entity, constantly moving. His attacks continuously landed on the Boss, and also on the infected who were arriving.

Looking down from above, one could clearly see that with the Virus Source Entity as the center, Noah had transformed into a lightning shadow. Wounds continuously appeared on the Boss, and the arriving infected fell one after another as if being harvested, like a flower of flesh and blood blooming outwards.

"Is it possible that the Difficult instance isn’t prepared for the vast majority of Awakeners at this stage?" Rose sighed and said.

Three pairs of surprised eyes looked at her in unison.

"Have you ever thought that now is the beginning of the National awakening? In this new era, we are the first generation of Awakeners, lacking everything. For us, the Normal instance is already very Difficult, let alone the Difficult instance." Rose looked at the three and slowly said.

"But what about those who haven’t activated their talents yet, our descendants? They stand on our shoulders, with a better foundation and stronger strength."
