Bought For A Baby, Kept For A Lifetime-Chapter 291: I Want You All To Myself
A deep frown pulled Andrew’s brows together when he heard the knock on the door.
Who the hell was that?
His eyes turned deadly in an instant as if he wanted to incinerate whoever was behind that door.
Using that as a chance, Anne jumped down from Andrew’s arms and ran off to open the door.
"Dinner is ready, mistress." Someone, evidently one of the staff informed and Anne thanked the person and turned to him.
"Let’s go eat."
Eat, Andrew had that word in mind, but other than food, there was something else he would much rather be eating at this very moment.
Still feeling slightly pissed that he had been interrupted, he followed her down nonetheless, her radiant mood eventually making him forget he was upset.
Every moment he spent with her was genuinely heartwarming. Like how she was happily talking to him about anything that came to mind, his favorite thing to listen to was her voice. Soft and girly, it always sounded musical and sweet to the ears.
They ate together and she made him tell her about everything he did at work, and after their meal, she disappeared into the kitchen while Andrew sat back waiting for her.
He waited for minutes and minutes but Anne didn’t come back, he occasionally looked towards the entrance of the kitchen thinking she would soon walk out but she didn’t.
He liked being around her, it wasn’t his fault that he was this crazily obsessed with her, the woman was too damn cute, too damn sweet, and too damn sexy than she knew.
Before Andrew could go over to the kitchen himself to find out what was keeping her, he got an important call. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Reluctantly, he shifted to the garden to take the call which was from his secretary, occasionally whenever work issues slipped into after work hours, it usually meant something might be wrong.
"Call Nicholas, let him know the deal is only on the table for a limited amount of time, Stoll corporation seems to be getting arrogant, I won’t negotiate a fixed offer." He said to his secretary sternly but even while being on the phone, he would occasionally look to check if Anne had left the kitchen already.
Several minutes later, he hung up the call and walked straight to the kitchen.
He could already hear Anne’s song like laughter even as he reached the kitchen entrance.
"That’s not how you do it, you put too much water." She said to a few of the maids who showed her something and laughed as well.
Anne was talking to Katie and Emma in the kitchen when she noticed them looking nervously at something behind her, curious she turned to follow their gazes to see Andrew who was standing leaned against the wall at the kitchen entrance.
His dark eyes were fixed on the maids who she was talking to.
Why was he looking at them like someone ready to bury them six feet under.
"Andrew, what are you doing here?" She asked to shift his attention away from them, with that kind of look he was obviously terrifying the young women.
"Came to see what was keeping my wife, or rather who in this case." Even his voice sounded scary, Anne felt quite bad for the innocent maids so she quietly glared at him.
"I have to finish something real quick here, you can go ahead and I’ll follow you later." It was Anne who asked him to leave, but the danger in his gaze intensified towards the maids.
"I’ll wait." He said succinctly, unfolding his arms from his chest to bury them in his pockets.
When Anne turned to the maids, they were shaking, trying not to look directly at Andrew, but they could clearly feel his displeased gaze.
"Um, mistress, we’ll finish this some other time." Both maids quickly made an excuse even before Anne could say anything to them, they scurried away as if there was a dangerous predator on their tail.
Anne wanted to protest but they were gone before she could even open her mouth, she turned a glare in Andrew’s direction.
"You scared them away." She accused.
He was smiling now, and all the dangerous displeasure in his gaze had evaporated. How could one person switch up his moods so fast?
"I don’t get to spend the whole day with you, every second of your evenings are mine." He said extending a hand for her to come to him.
"So you want me all to yourself?" Anne said teasingly, instead of going to him she began to take backward steps.
"Yes, I want you all to myself."
Andrew began to walk up to her knowing from the look in her eyes that she was up to something. But before he could reach her she ran off towards the service entrance in the kitchen.
"If you want to have me all to yourself, you have to catch me first." She giggled and disappeared afterwards shutting the service entrance door.
His lips quirked up in a smirk, she couldn’t possibly think she could hide from him in his own home did she?
Anne ran down the cobbled path outside that led towards the garden looking behind her if Andrew was following behind her.
She looked left and right but there were no traces of him, the manor was huge, could it be he really couldn’t find her?
Tsk, this giant tornado couldn’t even...
"Ah!" Anne yelped when she was suddenly lifted off her feet out of nowhere, she was swept up in one fluid motion, thrown over Andrew’s shoulder.
Where had he come from? She hadn’t even noticed him.
"Found you, wife." He said and she could hear the infinite satisfaction in his voice.
"Andrew, it’s not a fair game, you already knew I would come through here." She complained but it still didn’t stop him from taking her up the stairs.
"You never set any rules to your game Annelise, you only said I needed to find you."
When they reached her room, he placed her down gently then cradled her face in his hands to give her lips a light peck, there was a calculating look in his eyes, but beneath that a quiet hunger.
"My turn to introduce a game." He said and Anne immediately remembered that she had been supposed to play a game with him earlier.
Her face turned red and she nervously bit her lip.
"Alright, tell me what game we’ll be playing."
As she asked this, she saw his eyes glimmer with a clever light...
