Bound to the Triplet Alphas-Chapter 51: Rise of the Moon Alpha
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Rise of the Moon Alpha
ARIA POV
My wolf form burst forth in a flash of golden light. Where once I had been small and gray—an omega wolf—I now stood tall and strong, my fur shimmering silver with golden markings that glowed in the moonlight.
The border wolves stopped their progress, surprised by my transformation. I let out a howl that shook the trees around us—a sound of power that carried far beyond what any normal wolf could make.
The boss of the border wolves, a scarred black male, stepped forward. His eyes showed confusion, then understanding.
Moon Alpha, his thoughts touched mine, something that had never happened before. We did not know.
Now you do, I projected back. These areas are protected.
The pack of border wolves lowered their heads in submission, then retreated back into the bush without a fight.
I shifted back to human form, the golden light making the change smooth and easy.
"That was..." Jaxon stared at me in awe. "You didn’t even fight them."
"They recognized what she is," Lucien explained, his voice weak but filled with wonder. "No wolf challenges a true Moon Alpha directly."
Kael helped Lucien stand straighter. "We need to get back to the pack. They’ll be in chaos after feeling the shift in power."
The trip back to the pack lands was tough. Lucien’s wound, though healing faster than a normal wolf’s would, still left him weak. We took turns supporting him, moving as quickly as we could through the trees.
When we finally reached the edge of the pack area, we were met by a group of frantic warriors.
"The Alpha!" one of them cried when he saw us. "He fell during the council meeting! He’s barely alive!"
I traded worried glances with the triplets. Darius had been pulled into the vortex. How could he be here?
"Take us to him," I commanded, my voice carrying a new authority that made the warriors immediately obey.
The pack house was in chaos. Wolves ran in every direction, some fighting, others hiding. Without Darius’s iron control, old rivalries had instantly surfaced.
Two warriors were locked in battle in the main hall. Without thinking, I let out a short, sharp howl. Both froze instantly, then dropped to their knees before me, necks bared.
"Enough," I said softly, but everyone heard. "Take me to Darius."
They led us to the Alpha’s rooms where a shocking sight awaited us. Darius lay on his bed, his body bent and broken as if he’d been crushed. His skin was gray, and black lines spread across his face. He was living, but barely.
His eyes fluttered open when I neared. Recognition and then hatred flashed across his face.
"You," he wheezed. "How...did you...escape?"
"The Moon Goddess protected me," I answered simply.
He tried to laugh, but it came out as a pained cough. "The curse...still lives...in me. I’ll...never die...while it...exists."
Elira stepped forward, her face tight with anger. "You used me. Made me hate my own sister."
"Sister?" several voices repeated in surprise.
"Half-sister," I explained. "We share our mother’s blood—Moon Alpha blood."
Whispers spread through the room as pack members crowded at the door to watch.
Darius’s eyes widened slightly. "You know."
"I know everything," I said. "About my mother. About what you did to her. About the curse."
His gaze moved to his sons. "You...still need...me," he gasped. "The curse...binds us...all."
Kael stepped forward. "The curse is broken, Father. Aria set us free."
"Impossible!" The word seemed to take all of Darius’s strength.
I turned to address the gathered crowd. "The old Alpha’s rule is over. The Moon Alpha bloodline returns to its proper place."
"Who are you to claim leadership?" asked a large male—Beta Marcus, Elira’s father. "My daughter is next in line by pack law."
"Pack law was corrupted," I answered calmly. "Just as the Alpha bloodline was."
I let my power rise, my skin beginning to glow with golden light. Several wolves gasped and stepped back.
"I am Aria, daughter of Luna Selene, true heir of the Moon Alpha family. The Goddess herself has confirmed my place."
To prove my point, I let my eyes shift—not to the normal wolf gold, but to shining silver, the mark of a Moon Alpha.
Beta Marcus fell to his knees immediately. "Moon Alpha," he whispered.
One by one, the others followed, even Elira, who gave me a small, sad smile.
"The triplets will be my consorts," I stated. "As it was in the old ways."
"All three?" someone asked in shock.
"All three," I confirmed. "Our bond is blessed by the Goddess herself."
Darius made a choked sound from the bed. "Kill...her," he demanded weakly. "Before...she takes...everything."
No one moved.
"The curse still lives inside him," Lucien said quietly. "It’s keeping him alive, but barely."
I turned back to Darius. Despite everything he’d done, seeing him so broken brought me no joy.
"You’ll face the pack council for your crimes," I told him. "But first, we need to remove what remains of the curse."
"No!" he gasped, fear flashing in his eyes.
I put my hand on his forehead. The touch made my skin crawl, but I pushed past it, reaching for the dark energy I could feel writhing inside him.
"By my right as Moon Alpha," I said, the words coming to me as if I’d known them forever, "I banish this darkness from my pack."
Golden light flowed from my hands into Darius’s body. He screamed as the curse fought back, black energy sparking around us. The triplets rushed to my side, each putting a hand on my shoulders, lending me strength through our new bonds.
With a final push of power, I pulled the last of the curse from Darius. It formed a dark cloud above him, twisting and screaming.
"To the crystal," I ordered, pulling the black shard from my pocket—the only piece I had saved from the chamber.
The dark energy resisted, but couldn’t escape the pull of the crystal. As the last wisps faded into the shard, it turned completely black.
Darius lay still, his breathing weak but steady. The twisted shape of his body remained, but the black veins had vanished.
"He’ll live," I said, tired from the effort, "but he’ll never walk again. The curse’s damage is permanent."
"What do we do with him?" Kael asked, his voice hard.
"Justice will come," I promised. "But first, we need to heal our pack."
I turned to address everyone. "There will be changes. Old structures will fall. The strong will no longer prey on the weak."
I looked at Mira, who stood near the back of the crowd. "Omegas will be respected for their gifts, not despised for their gentleness."
Many looked awkward, but no one dared object.
"Rest tonight," I directed. "Tomorrow, we begin rebuilding."
The crowd slowly dispersed, talking among themselves. Elder Malin neared me last, her ancient eyes searching mine.
"The prophecy is fulfilled," she said. "But beware, Moon Alpha. Not all threats come from outside the pack."
Before I could ask what she meant, she shuffled away.
Later that night, as the triplets and I settled into the Alpha quarters—now mine—I felt the weight of duty pressing down on me.
"Having second thoughts?" Lucien asked softly, feeling my mood through our bond.
"No," I answered. "Just wondering what comes next."
"Whatever it is, we face it together," Kael said firmly.
Jaxon grinned. "And we’ll have fun doing it."
I smiled, grateful for their different views. Our new ties hummed with energy, stronger by the hour.
As the others fell asleep, I stepped onto the balcony, looking out over the pack lands. In the distance, I saw a flash of movement—wolves watching from the forest edge. Not border dogs this time. Something else.
A soft growl left my lips as I made out their shapes. Wolves unlike any I’d seen before, with eyes that glowed red in the darkness.
The black rock in my pocket suddenly turned ice cold.
"We’re not done yet," I whispered to myself as the strange wolves melted back into the darkness. "The curse found new hosts."
I closed my eyes, sending a quiet prayer to the Moon Goddess.
Whatever came next, I would be ready.
