Broken Bond: Claimed by My Ex-Husband's Alpha Billionaire Uncle-Chapter 140: The Calm Before the Chaos
Charlotte lay on Damon’s arm, trying to steady her breathing after letting him claim her again and again from dawn until noon. They had even skipped the breakfast buffet because tasting each other was so much better than food.
"Was I too rough?" Damon asked, covering his eyes with his arm. His breathing was still heavy after pounding into her vigorously for hours.
"Kind of." Charlotte bit her lip, feeling a faint soreness between her thighs. "But don’t worry." She slowly turned to face him, resting her hand on his chest. "I really enjoyed it, truly."
Damon brushed his fingers along her cheek and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "Are you hungry? Do you want me to go to the restaurant and bring you something to eat?"
Charlotte thought for a moment before smiling. "How about we go together? I want to look around the ship and see the facilities."
It would be such a waste to spend time inside the room when the cruise ship had so many interesting and beautiful things to see.
"Are you sure? Can you even walk?" Damon teased.
She smacked his chest immediately, chuckling. "I’m not that helpless!"
If she were just an ordinary human, she probably would have fainted and been unable to walk for three days. But thanks to her tremendous healing ability, it wasn’t a big deal. After a bath, her body likely wouldn’t ache anymore.
"I know, I know." Damon laughed as well, then climbed out of bed first. In the next moment, he scooped her up and carried her into the bathroom. "At least let me take responsibility for everything I did to you earlier."
Charlotte didn’t protest and simply let her soon-to-be husband take care of her. He gently washed away the mess from her body, even helping her release the seed that was still lingering deep inside her honeypot.
Damon’s touch was surprisingly tender, nothing like the wild passion he had shown earlier. His large hands moved carefully, as if she were made of glass, each gesture filled with patience and devotion.
Charlotte leaned against his chest, closing her eyes while the warm water ran down her skin. For the first time that day, she allowed herself to simply relax, letting him handle everything.
After they had washed up and put on their clothes, the two of them stepped out of the room and asked the cabin steward to change the bed with fresh sheets.
Charlotte’s cheeks burned with embarrassment. To her, it felt like openly telling the staff that they had already had sex, even before the ship had been sailing for a full day. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Damon, of course, wasn’t bothered at all. He slipped an arm around her waist and reassured her with a grin. "It’s normal. Couples on their honeymoon do this all the time."
"We’re not even married yet," Charlotte whispered, leaning closer to him as they walked down the hall toward the restaurant.
"Then just think of it as a pre-honeymoon," Damon said lightly, his teasing tone making her blush even harder.
They spent the afternoon wandering across the cruise ship, hand in hand.
They visited the pool deck, peeked into the theater, and even strolled past the casino where music and laughter spilled out into the halls. Lunch at the restaurant was delightful, the dishes almost as extravagant as the sea view surrounding them.
When they finally reached the ship’s deck, Charlotte closed her eyes, letting the breeze brush against her skin. She was truly enjoying their pre-honeymoon, especially after working so hard for so long.
Everything on this ship felt like a reward, and if she could, she wanted to savor it for as long as possible.
"This feels perfect." Charlotte took a deep breath, inhaling the refreshing scent of the sea.
Damon stood close beside her, his arm securely wrapped around her waist as if he was afraid that letting go would cause her to tumble into the ocean, an idea that was completely ridiculous.
"I wish I could bring everyone here." Charlotte giggled and tilted her head toward him. "Haven would be over the moon."
Damon leaned casually against the railing, his aqua eyes catching the sunlight. "Sweetheart, I brought you here for our honeymoon, and yet you still can’t stop thinking about our family."
Charlotte laughed softly, covering her mouth. "Well, I can’t help it. They’re a part of me. But ..." she pressed closer to him, resting her cheek against his chest, "right now, it’s just us, and I don’t want this moment to end."
Charlotte knew that once this vacation was over, their lives would get busy again. She had to prepare for their promotion and also search for a new script for her next movie.
She wasn’t sure yet what kind of project she would take on, but a part of her wanted to try something different, something bold, maybe even an action film.
Her manager, Chloe, had once suggested that she take on something sweet, like a romance drama, but ... Charlotte couldn’t stand the thought of playing a romantic role with any man other than Damon.
It was just ... she still carried a deep trauma in her heart when it came to "men," so she only found comfort in Damon’s presence. Besides, she had already played several romantic roles in the past, so perhaps it would be better if she built a new persona now.
"What are you thinking about?" Damon looked at her with curiosity. "You always frown when you’re thinking too hard." He reached out and gently rubbed her forehead.
Charlotte smiled. "I’m not thinking about anything bad. I was just wondering what kind of movie I should take on next."
Damon tilted his head slightly and said, "Don’t worry. I think you can take on any movie and absolutely nail it."
She bit the inside of her cheek before speaking hesitantly. "But honestly ... I’ve been thinking about something else. I don’t know if it will work this time, but ... what if we try to have a baby before I return?"
Some people might think she was crazy for wanting another break just as her career was picking up again, but in her heart, she felt that if they truly wanted to start a family, then now was the right time to try, even if the outcome was uncertain.
"I can take a break for about a year," Charlotte said softly. "If it doesn’t work, that’s okay. But if it does ... I’d be overjoyed."
Either way, whether they ended up with a child or not, she could focus on her career afterward without regrets. Besides, people loved drama, and if they saw her trying to build a family with her new, gentle husband, they would only cheer her on.
"Are you sure about this?" Damon asked. He finally straightened his back and looked her in the eyes. "I don’t mind if we don’t focus on having children anytime soon. We have plenty of time."
Charlotte laughed softly. "I know we have a long time, Damon. But I want to build a little family with you."
They had even promised to adopt rescued children one day, which meant their home would be filled with even more love and laughter.
Even if Charlotte couldn’t get pregnant within that year, she could still use the time to bond and grow closer with their adopted children.
Damon let out a gentle breath before pulling Charlotte closer against him. "If that’s what you want, then—"
BANG!
Charlotte’s eyes widened as her body jolted in shock. The loud sound of a gunshot tore through the ship, shattering the peaceful moment.
"HELP! HELP! SOMEONE’S BEEN SHOT!"
