Broken Bond: Claimed by My Ex-Husband's Alpha Billionaire Uncle-Chapter 145: Awakening of the Luna
His smile widened as he said, "But there’s one condition..." He lifted the vials higher. "I want Charlotte to come with me. In exchange."
"You bastard!" Damon shouted as loudly as he could. He tried to move, but the poison had already made his body stiff.
Even so, he forced himself to push forward, ignoring the awful sound of his bones cracking. But the poison was stronger than he thought. When the ship tilted again, both he and Mona collapsed onto the floor.
"Oh, don’t be so dramatic." Julian rolled his eyes and walked toward them. "Besides, this isn’t the first time I’ve stolen your mate."
He moved quickly to Charlotte and grabbed her arm so tightly that she could feel her bone starting to crack. She hissed in pain and glared at him sharply.
"Oh, scary." Julian grinned from ear to ear. "After seeing you keep rebelling, I’m starting to develop feelings for women who like to rebel, like you."
He licked his lips and said, "You’ll be perfect once you’re broken until you lose your mind."
"Julian, I swear I’ll kill you!" Damon growled, biting down so hard that his gums began to bleed. He tried to crawl toward Charlotte, but falling furniture kept slamming into him again and again.
"You can’t even stand properly," Julian said with a shrug. "Maybe worry about yourself first."
"So, since I will take your mate, I will give you and your mom the antidotes." Without warning, Julian threw the antidotes into the air. The vials spun several times before finally falling back down.
Charlotte’s eyes locked onto them. If those vials shattered, Damon and Mona’s chances of surviving would become zero.
She couldn’t let that happen.
Now that she had finally found happiness, Charlotte refused to let Julian take it away from her again.
He had taken everything from her before, and this time, Charlotte would never allow it again.
Never again.
"Do you want to kill him, Charlotte?"
A strange voice suddenly echoed inside her mind. Her eyes widened slightly, but there was no time to think.
In the next second, she answered, "Yes. I want him to die."
The voice wasn’t human.
It came from deep inside her, from the part of her that had been asleep for so long.
It was her wolf.
For years, that part of herself had been silent, repressed, and locked away. Charlotte had almost forgotten what it felt like to hope to hear her wolf’s voice. But now, in this moment of fear and rage, the wolf had finally awakened.
"Good," the wolf whispered calmly. "
"Then let me help you."
Charlotte’s heart pounded. She didn’t know whether to be afraid or relieved, but there was no time to question it. Power began to flow through her body. It was warm at first, then hot, burning through her veins like fire.
Her vision sharpened, her senses exploded to life, and for the first time in a long while, she didn’t feel helpless anymore.
Her body moved before her mind could even catch up.
Her bones shifted, uscles stretched, and fur burst across her skin. In just a heartbeat, Charlotte was no longer standing there as a woman, but she had fully shifted into her wolf.
Her wolf body leapt into the air, and her mouth caught the vials just before they hit the ground.
She landed smoothly, holding the vials carefully between her teeth, then rushed to Damon’s side.
He stared at her in shock. Even through the haze of poison, his eyes could still recognize Charlotte easily. "Charlotte... you can transform."
She dropped the vial into Damon’s hand, then nudged his face with her muzzle and gently licked his cheek a few times.
Damon’s chest tightened as he looked at her. Even in her wolf form, he could still feel her warmth, and her love. He gently placed his hand on her head, his fingers brushing through her fur.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice trembling.
Then he quickly drank the antidote. The bitter liquid burned down his throat, but he forced himself to swallow it all. Slowly, the pain in his body began to fade, and the stiffness eased.
Charlotte watched him closely, her blue eyes full of worry.
"It’s okay," Damon said softly, meeting her gaze. "I’m alright now."
Unfortunately, Charlotte wasn’t able to relax because Julian was still there.
She turned her head toward him, a low growl rumbling from deep inside her chest. Her fur bristled, and her claws dug into the floor.
As Damon helped Mona drink the antidote, Charlotte slowly stepped forward toward Julian.
Her eyes were filled with all the anger she had felt for years. All the abuse he had done to her since their marriage — and everything that followed — had become the fuel that filled her wolf with rage.
Julian, on the other hand, couldn’t believe what he was seeing — that Charlotte, the wolfless woman he once married, had suddenly transformed into a wolf.
"H-How is this possible?" Julian’s eyes trembled slightly, but he quickly straightened his back, refusing to show any weakness in front of her.
Charlotte didn’t bother replying. She just kept walking forward, her paws steady on the trembling floor. Her wolf eyes burned with anger, every step heavy with years of pain she could no longer hold back.
"Charlotte, my Charlotte," Julian laughed, mocking her. "Do you really think you can kill me just because you finally learned how to shift? You’re just a newborn werewolf compared to me."
Julian then shifted into his wolf form as well. His wolf wasn’t as large as Damon’s, but he was still a Beta, the second-in-command of his pack.
Compared to Charlotte, who had no experience fighting in her wolf form, Julian clearly had the advantage.
However, for some reason, Charlotte didn’t feel even the slightest bit of fear in her heart.
"Julian, you’re wrong," Damon finally said. He stood behind Charlotte, his gray eyes glaring sharply at Julian. "Charlotte’s wolf form may be new, but she has tied her bond to me. She’s not just an ordinary werewolf, she’s my Luna."
