Chapter 151: A Fresh Start in Velmoria

In just one night, the Luna Light Foundation gained huge public attention. Big names also began donating, and more people started talking about it online.

Charlotte also received a report from the staff that their phones had been ringing nonstop, a sign that she had successfully convinced those women to step out of the darkness.

Some of them might return to their abusers later, but at least they had taken the first step by reaching out. After that, little by little, they would surely begin to realize that their abusers were nothing more than cowards.

"It’s going to be a busy year," Charlotte murmured as she stared at her work phone, reading the names of the women who were already being handled directly by the foundation. She let out a slow breath. "I hope I can manage my schedule well."

After the premiere, Charlotte and Damon immediately flew to Velmoria City, Charlotte’s hometown, and the place where she had lived her life before Julian ever entered it.

She wanted to start her life over from the beginning with Damon, so she chose that city for their wedding ceremony. It wasn’t only because she wanted to erase Julian’s traces, but also because Velmoria City meant a lot to her.

"Yeah... your life is definitely going to be very busy," Diana said while sitting in the bride’s makeover room with them. "But at least, you don’t have to worry about facing a psychopath like Julian anymore."

"Oh, come on!" Aveline, one of Charlotte’s friends, immediately scolded her. "Don’t say that J word!" She pointed at Diana like a strict teacher. "Charlotte, your future sister-in-law can’t even remember the rule!"

Diana was taken aback because that human girl dared to scold her like that. But since her body was covered in a lycan’s scent, she decided to just play nice.

"I just forgot!" Diana said defensively. "It’s not like someone will die just because we say his name."

"Yes, but it might make Charlotte remember things again!" Aveline snapped back.

Before their argument got any worse, Charlotte finally said with a smile, "Alright, alright. Don’t fight." She added, "Besides, Julian can’t hurt me anymore. He means nothing to me now."

After all, his head had already been separated from his body, so what else could he possibly do?

"Auntie Charlotte! Auntie Charlotte!" Haven shouted excitedly, her face glowing with happiness. "They said it’s time for you to go to your prince!"

She looked like she was about to explode from excitement. Behind her, Vera ran after her, looking a bit out of breath because her daughter was way too fast. At that moment, Vera was sure Haven could grow up to be just as strong as Diana.

"Haven!" Vera finally caught her and lifted her up. "I told you not to run around the hallway!"

Then Vera turned toward Charlotte. The moment she saw Charlotte in her wedding dress, her eyes softened.

Charlotte looked beautiful, so beautiful that Vera froze for a second before smiling warmly.

"Your father has been waiting for you," Vera said gently. "I think he’s even crying a little."

Charlotte couldn’t help but laugh, and then she slowly stood up from her chair. "This isn’t even my first wedding," she joked lightly.

But when she said the same thing to Derek earlier, Derek immediately frowned like she had offended his whole bloodline. "This is the first time I approved your future husband," Derek said firmly.

Then he cleared his throat right after, acting like he hadn’t said anything emotional at all. "I mean..." Derek muttered stiffly, "there’s no rule that says a father isn’t allowed to feel emotional at his daughter’s wedding... even if it’s... the second time."

Charlotte couldn’t help but smile a little. Honestly, when she married Julian, Derek didn’t look like he wanted to cry at all. Instead, he looked like he wanted to throw a chair.

That was exactly why Charlotte knew this moment was different. This time, her father truly felt happy, and more than that... he felt relieved because Damon would be the one holding her hand next and Damon would be the one protecting her now, a man her father could finally trust.

"Ms. Dawson, it’s time," the wedding staff said with a warm smile.

Charlotte nodded without hesitation. "I’m ready."

She gently nudged her father, then slipped her arm around his. Derek took a deep breath, then said quietly, "I’m ready too."

A second later, the staff opened the large doors of the building. The moment the doors opened, a soft breeze from the garden brushed against Charlotte’s face.

Warm sunlight spilled into the hallway, gentle and golden, like the world itself was welcoming her.

For a second, Charlotte froze, not because she was scared, but because the view in front of her was too beautiful.

The garden was filled with white flowers and pale ribbons that moved softly in the wind. Long rows of chairs were arranged neatly, and everyone was already seated, turning their heads toward the entrance the moment the doors opened.

"The kind lady is here..."

Charlotte couldn’t help but smile when she heard those small whispers from the children she had invited from the rescue facility.

Over the past two months, she had visited them again and again. She didn’t just come once and disappear, but she kept showing up. Slowly, some of the children began to trust her, and that trust meant everything.

That was why Charlotte decided to bring them to Velmoria City too, so they could witness her happy day.

Of course, they were accompanied by their caretakers, and she also made sure to give them seats in a corner where they wouldn’t become the center of attention.

After that, Charlotte looked forward, gazing at Damon, who was standing stiffly beside Louis, looking both nervous and serious at the same time.

And yes, Louis would be the one officiating their wedding.

Damon’s eyes lit up the moment he saw Charlotte walking down the aisle.

She looked like a dream.

Her white dress flowed softly around her as she moved, and a bouquet of flowers rested in her right hand. Her hair was neatly tied into an elegant bun, and a delicate tiara sat on top of her head, making her look like royalty.
