BTTH: Starting from Capturing the Goddess-Chapter 69 - 72: Chen Mo’s Gift
Chapter 69 - 72: Chen Mo's Gift
Still fuming, Yue Mei didn't dwell too long on what had just happened—because that human was now walking toward her again.
It was the same spot as before, except this time, their positions were reversed.
Yue Mei casually flipped her long hair over her shoulder, her pretty face frosty at first. But as her seductive eyes roamed across Chen Mo's figure, the chill faded, replaced by a captivating smile.
It was a stunning smile.
This time, she intended to play him.
But what she didn't expect was—this human, who stared at her so intently last time, didn't even glance her way this time. Without sparing her a look, he simply walked past her.
"Damn human!"
Yue Mei bit her lip in frustration, her chest heaving with anger.
But Chen Mo still didn't acknowledge her, and his figure gradually disappeared from view.
Yue Mei: "..."
From the palace window above, Queen Medusa's red lips curled slightly, and a rare, enchanting smile flickered across her normally cold face.
A moment later—
When the bedroom door opened and Chen Mo entered, the smile instantly vanished from Queen Medusa's face, replaced by a frosty expression as she sat on the throne.
"So, did Yue Mei's waist feel nice to hug?" she asked with a cold smile.
Chen Mo instantly ratted Yue Mei out, shamelessly saying:
"Your Majesty, you misunderstood! She was the one who seduced me. And besides, her waist can't compare to yours!"
"Oh? Then why did you look like you were enjoying it so much?" Queen Medusa sneered.
"Impossible! Your Majesty, I am wholly devoted to you. Heaven and earth can bear witness!"
Seeing the jealousy flaring in her eyes, Chen Mo quickly approached, trying to smooth things over.
"Hmph..."
Queen Medusa snorted coldly and quickly raised her hand.
"Stop right there. Don't come any closer."

She'd grown wary of Chen Mo's wandering hands.
Her threats no longer seemed to work on him.
Sure, she beat him black and blue every time—but he always healed quickly.
And worst of all, she couldn't bring herself to truly hurt him.
Even the times she beat him senseless were no more than light injuries.
But Chen Mo ignored her warning and continued forward with a grin.
"I just finished patrolling the palace. It's huge—I'm exhausted. Your Majesty, can I lean on your shoulder for a bit?"
"Human, don't push your luck."
Queen Medusa snorted coldly.
No matter how much Chen Mo sweet-talked her this time, she refused to let him come any closer.
Seeing no other choice, Chen Mo sat down cross-legged nearby and entered cultivation.
For two days, Chen Mo couldn't find a way to get closer to Queen Medusa.
But that snake-woman named Yue Mei?
She wouldn't stop harassing him every time he went on patrol.
Chen Mo admitted—being pestered by a beauty like her was enjoyable...
But this was the royal palace—and Queen Medusa, the ultimate jealous vinegar jar, was constantly watching from the window above.
Chen Mo didn't dare act recklessly.
So he just coldly told Yue Mei not to come find him again.
Yue Mei was fuming.
"I came to settle the score! Who'd come looking for you for fun? You think your face is that important?"
She immediately stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
"What exactly do you want?" Chen Mo asked.
"Me? What do I want?"
Yue Mei's red lips curved with amusement. "You took advantage of me and think you can just walk away?"
Chen Mo stared at her for a moment. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he pulled out a Tier 3 Serpent Spirit Pill from his storage ring and tossed it to her.
"This pill works wonders for snake-people. Consider it compensation. Good enough, right?"
Without another word, he pushed past her and continued walking toward the palace.
Up above, Queen Medusa narrowed her eyes.
She turned and called for Yue Nu.
"The eight tribe chiefs have been in the royal city for some time now. The crisis is over—tell them to return to their respective tribes."
Then she took out two bottles of Serpent Spirit Pills from her ring.
"Distribute these to the tribe chiefs, on this queen's behalf."
Yue Nu didn't question her orders. She accepted the bottles and respectfully replied, "Understood."
—
The next day.
The eight tribe chiefs left the capital one by one.
In the Alchemy Room.
"Elder Baru, do you have any platinum or silver ore?" Chen Mo asked while watching Baru refine pills.
"Got both. What do you need 'em for?" Baru was working on a Tier 2 pill—simple enough that he didn't need to focus too much. He looked back casually.
"I need some platinum to make something."
Baru gave him a quick glance. Seeing that he didn't elaborate, he didn't press the matter. He pulled out a platinum ore chunk about the size of a person's head and handed it over.
"Thanks, Elder Baru. I'm borrowing the alchemy room for a bit."
Chen Mo found a corner, set up the Tiger Soul Cauldron, ignited it, and tossed in the platinum ore.
After some time and effort, he successfully forged a shimmering platinum chain.
Then he pulled out the magic core of the Thunderblood Azure Hawk.
It was half-silver, half-blue. After some polishing, it resembled a unique gemstone.
He drilled a small hole through the core and threaded the platinum chain through it.
Soon, a silver-blue pendant necklace was completed.
While it wasn't the most exquisite in craftsmanship, it looked quite elegant and gave off a cool, calming aura.
Chen Mo was very satisfied and left the alchemy room.
That night. In the palace bedchamber.
When night fell and Queen Medusa lay down on the soft bed—
Chen Mo, who had been lying on a side mattress, quietly rolled onto the main bed.
Sensing movement, Queen Medusa turned, eyes sharp as she asked:
"What are you doing?"
"Uh... Your Majesty, I have a gift for you. Can you turn around?" Chen Mo swallowed nervously.
Queen Medusa didn't believe him and just kept staring.
Under her gaze, Chen Mo could barely stand the pressure.
He smiled bitterly and said:
"Just trust me this once. I swear it's a surprise."
Queen Medusa's eyes narrowed, and after a long moment, she finally turned away.
"If you're lying... you can pack your things and move to the side palace."
That punishment was even worse than being beaten into a pig's head.
Chen Mo broke into a sheepish grin.
He approached her from behind and pulled out the necklace he had made by hand.
With one hand, he gently moved her silky black hair aside, revealing her smooth, fair neck.
As the light fragrance of her hair and the natural scent of her body filled the air, Chen Mo slowly clasped the necklace around her neck.
