The soft click of the closing door startled Haru. He turned his gaze towards Kiyohime, who had just carefully closed—and locked—the study door.

Her cautious actions made him suspicious.

"The little ones aren't causing trouble, are they?" he asked, his eyes narrowed.

"They are arguing," Kiyohime replied, her voice small, turning her head away from his gaze.

"Tell me—what are they arguing about? As their father, I'm curious." Haru's voice was laced with playful sarcasm.

Kiyohime's inability to lie applied only to Haru, and even then, she wasn't above omitting certain details.

"...I put Elia's panda plush toy in Rin's room," she mumbled, her fingers fidgeting.

"And you deliberately sent the girls away—why, my dear Kiyohime?" Haru's voice was a teasing purr.

"You called me dear—Was it true? Am I really dear to you...?" Kiyohime's face flushed, her hands covering her cheeks, a dreamy expression in her eyes.

Haru nodded, a gentle smile on his face.

Seeing his confirmation, Kiyohime fidgeted, her cheeks turning a deeper shade of red, her expression inviting.

"Haru-sama," she murmured, her voice soft, seductive, "You said—after the Grail War you would claim me."

Her amber eyes, filled with a smoldering intensity, locked onto his.

Haru's body stirred, his gaze fixed on hers.

"I did say that," he replied, his voice a low growl.

"Then how about tonight? I sent everyone away. I'm wearing new clothes. And I've taken a bath~" She twirled, the hem of her kimono swirling around her, her voice a whispering invitation.

Her aqua hair, neatly styled, the tips of her white horns still damp, her slender figure clad in a white kimono with blue patterns, gold-trimmed white stockings clinging to her long, shapely legs, the sash tied in a loose, easily undone bow—she was a vision of seductive innocence.

Haru's eyes darkened, his gaze burning with desire. He was about to take her, right then and there, but he stopped himself, his voice strained.

"Kiyohime, you know—I'm not Anchin, right?" He had to ask. It would ruin the mood otherwise. If she was thinking of another man while they were together.

Silence.

Then, Kiyohime spoke, her voice soft, almost a whisper. "I know, Haru. You're not Anchin."

"Anchin was just a priest. He'd barely even glimpsed the world of magic. Reincarnation? He wouldn't even know where to begin." Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I knew from the moment we met—you weren't him," she continued, her voice filled with a strange mix of sadness and scorn.

"After all, Anchin—that man who loved men he wouldn't have looked at me like that. With such hunger..."

"Wait—how do you know Anchin loved men...?" Haru stared at her, dumbfounded. He'd just been teasing her, suggesting Anchin was gay for rejecting her. He hadn't expected her to—confirm it.

He felt a sudden appreciation for the Fate universe's unique brand of crazy. Beautiful women, philosophical debates, and now this.

"When I made my contract with the Counter Force—I asked them why Anchin rejected me. It seems my wish was too simple. They answered me," she said, her voice flat, devoid of emotion. It seemed her first love being a philosopher had left some scars.

"You knew—from the start—that I wasn't Anchin. And yet you still threw yourself at me—I don't understand," Haru said, his brow furrowed.

"You've forgotten my skill, Haru-sama? My Kiss of Flames," Kiyohime murmured, her cheeks flushing.

Haru paused, then his expression turned.. strange. A Servant's skills were usually derived from their legends, their deeds, their beliefs, amplified by the faith of those who remembered them.

And Kiss of Flames—its effect was essentially a love charm, binding her Master to her as her husband. That meant—it reflected Kiyohime's own desires, her wish to be with Anchin.

"Do you remember now? You were the first to accept my love—That's why I saw you as my husband—That's why I allowed you to touch me."

"I don't believe you," Haru said, his voice flat.

"Eh?!" Kiyohime stared at him, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Transform. Show me your snake form, and then I'll believe you." Haru said, appearing before her in a flash, his arms wrapping around her waist, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Kiyohime tilted her head, a puzzled look on her face, as Haru's hands began to untie her sash.

Haru yanked the sash free, and the kimono, now loose, slid down her body, pooling at her feet.

"Oh, Haru-sama—you really are obsessed with snakes aren't you...?" Kiyohime giggled, her tongue darting out, her legs shifting, scales shimmering into existence, replacing her smooth skin, one of the scales near her center—parting slightly. Her snake tail, now fully formed, coiled around Haru's legs.

With a gasp, man and snake intertwined.

——

The next morning, the study door opened slowly.

"Daddy! Elia stole my toy!"

"No, I didn't!"

"Onee-chan! Imouto-chan! Don't fight..."

"Daddy? What are you and Kiyohime-mama doing?"

"..."
