Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 685 - 686: Bo Qing, you can’t even handle a woman
Min Xin, a prominent figure, seemed consumed by lovesickness. He longed to visit the Zhou family every day but felt it would be inappropriate. This constant indecision caused him to lose a significant amount of weight.
In contrast, Zhou Yu was thriving, looking plump and fair-skinned. On the rare occasions Min Xin caught sight of her, he would stare fixedly for a long time.
However, his opportunities had vanished. Now, whenever Zhou Yu went out, her mother accompanied her. Even if Min Xin managed to approach, he could only offer a few words of concern. As time wore on, he grew increasingly anxious. Yet, distressed by Zhou Yu’s pregnancy, he began sending all sorts of tonics and valuable gifts to the Zhou family.
Zhou Yu’s mother assumed she wouldn’t want the gifts. However, every time Zhou Yu looked at them, she would simply say faintly, "Just leave them here," and nothing more.
Zhou Yu’s mother could no longer understand her daughter’s thoughts.
Later, it was Zhou Yu’s father who pointed out, "She’s grown much closer to young Anxi, and her way of thinking seems to have changed considerably."
Only then did Zhou Yu’s mother realize, though a sense of unease lingered. She feared Min Xin would shamelessly try to take advantage of Zhou Yu again. Consequently, she constantly stayed by her side, ensuring Min Xin never had an opportunity to succeed.
Min Xin’s mood soured day by day, his expression growing increasingly gloomy, much to Old Wang’s amusement. Gu Anxi also teased him, saying he deserved it.
For a while, Min Xin became the most dejected one, overthinking constantly and sometimes even madly rushing off to stand guard by the Zhou residence in the middle of the night. Gu Anxi recounted these incidents to Bo Xichen as amusing anecdotes.
Bo Xichen had already been discharged from the hospital but still needed to recuperate. Gu Anxi had been handling some matters for him. After finishing her work and closing her laptop, she said softly, "I heard Bo Qing has already resolved things on his end."
Bo Xichen gently stroked her hair. "He’s planning to seize control of the Bo Family, I presume."
The little sweetheart leaned obediently on his shoulder and murmured after a moment, "I’ve already made arrangements regarding the Chu Family."
Bo Xichen chuckled. "You worry about too many things for someone so young."
She yelped softly.
He then asked her, "When did the Chu Family fall under your control?"
The little sweetheart in his arms looked up, surprised. "How did you know?"
Bo Xichen chuckled. "I could tell just by looking at you." He suddenly added, "I... understand you deeply. A little guesswork is all it takes."
Her cheeks flushed red. "What are you talking about... Shameless... You’re becoming as shameless as Min Xin!"
"How am I shameless? We’re legally married; what he’s doing is harassment." Bo Xichen pulled her into his arms, resting his chin on the crown of her head. "I hear you’ve been quite mischievous lately."
"I have been good." She turned, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Does it still hurt?"
Bo Xichen smiled. "No, it doesn’t hurt anymore."
Gu Anxi leaned on his uninjured shoulder and whispered, "Uncle, can we go out together from now on?"
He remained silent for a long moment before murmuring, "Anxi, let’s have a child, shall we?"
Her small mouth fell open. She was somewhat puzzled as to why he would bring this up now. The atmosphere had been so pleasant, and she still had so many praises for him left unsaid. He was ruining the mood!
When she remained silent, he pinched her small cheek. "I thought that once we got our marriage certificate, we could have children."
Gu Anxi stammered, "H-having a baby isn’t like a hen laying an egg! You can’t just have one whenever you feel like it. Look at Sister Zhou; she seems to be having a really hard time with her pregnancy." She can’t drive or run around freely, carrying that belly every day. Just thinking about it is terrifying...
After a moment, she likely understood his intentions and felt a pang of discomfort. As if in retaliation, she bit his shoulder. "No. We’ll wait until you retire."
Bo Xichen gave a wry smile. "How old will I be by then?"
The little sweetheart hugged him, cooing coquettishly, "Am I not your little baby?"
He looked askance at her. "So, you’re afraid a child would steal my affection from you?"
His parents doted on her as if she were still a child, a fact he found somewhat exasperating. She’s clearly in her early twenties and used to be quite composed. But ever since the family elders started spoiling her like this, it’s as if she’s regressed to her teens...
"That’s not it at all!" She shook her head. "Let’s at least wait until Second Uncle’s matters are resolved." She whispered, "Once everything is over, we’ll have our wedding ceremony, alright?"
He agreed, then smiled tenderly, thoroughly delighting his little sweetheart...
「While it was like springtime where they were, it was like deepest winter where Bo Qing was.」
Song Jia was slapped so hard she fell to the ground. Bo Qing’s voice followed, seething with uncontrollable fury, "Who gave you the authority to do this? I never said I wanted Bo Xichen dead!"
"Senior Brother." Song Jia lay sprawled on the sofa, the red imprints of five fingers stark on her face, looking utterly pitiful. "He brought back what we spent two years meticulously preparing. I couldn’t let him return with it alive."
Bo Qing sneered. "And now?"
Song Jia was speechless. "He... he got away."
Bo Qing continued to sneer. From a nearby sofa, the Old Master of the Bo Family remarked softly, "Bo Qing, you can’t even manage one woman."
