Chapter 595: Chapter 612: The Lights of the City Shine for You (5)

In the following days, Isabel Smith stayed at Percy Stanton’s apartment. Since incidents occurred both in the daytime and at night, Percy Stanton remained vigilant. Although he had taken measures, he would generally clear his schedule to accompany Isabel whenever she needed to go out, just to ensure her safety.

The stock acquisition plan for the Smith Corporation slated by Isabel also went exceptionally smoothly, and her secret revenge plot, unknown to all, quietly and secretly got underway.

Days slipped by like water, pushing forward in a placid and waveless progress unknowingly and half a month had passed this way.

Once the revenge plan was initiated, it progressed exceptionally smoothly and while working at the Smith Corporation, Isabel would observe the progress of her revenge plot.

As Isabel’s unobserved revenge plot delved deeper and deeper, Isabel’s heart once uneasy initially, had settled into tranquillity by the end, a tranquillity that was somewhat deathly still.

The revenge plot Isabel initiated had made a significant progression half a month later and allowed her to confirm that more than half of her revenge plot had been accomplished.

As the bitter resentment for her parents was about to be settled, Isabel’s mood could neither be deemed good nor bad, but she spent the entire morning spaced out and lost in the scenery outside the window. As a result, Percy’s call rang numerous times before she finally heard it.

When Isabel picked up the phone, whether she was distracted or not, her tone sounded somewhat feeble, making Percy at the other end forget what he was going to say and ask in startled concern, "What’s wrong, Isabel?"

"Nothing."

"Your tone doesn’t sound right."

"I’m fine, maybe I just didn’t sleep well last night, a little tired, not feeling too well." Isabel pulled herself together before saying this.

Instantly, Percy recalled the passionate encounter he’d had with her last night. Holding back his laughter, he said with a hint of flirtation, "Isabel, I’ll be more mindful next time."

Isabel hadn’t expected him to interpret it that way, and her face instantly turned red. Clearing her throat to mask her irritation, she switched the topic, "What did you call me for?"

Only then did Percy state his purpose, "I have a lunch appointment today, so I thought I’d let you know in advance that I won’t be able to join you. But I’ll ask Tony Williams to deliver food to the office, and he’ll call you when it arrives. What do you feel like eating? I’ll get them to prepare."

"Anything will do." Isabel paused before responding, "I feel like having something light."

"Okay." Percy agreed and proposed a few dish names. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Isabel agreed with his choices without any objections.

Just before hanging up, Isabel suddenly called out Percy’s name. Gripping his phone, Percy said in his calm and bright tone, "What is it, Isabel?"

Isabel moved her lips, her gaze somewhat disorientated. After a moment, she said, "Nothing, I just wanted to remind you to pick me up a little early in the afternoon. I promised Raymond to pick him up from school after classes."

"Alright." Percy then hung up the phone.

Isabel put her phone down on the table and her demeanour instantly changed and became somewhat disturbed. Raising her hand to cover her face, masking the bright light, her black eyes seemed to see into her own heart, witnessing the bloody heart within struggling in hesitation.

Isabel cursed herself silently. Certain emotions that she had always tried to ignore, to not think about, to disregard, were now becoming more evident within her heart with each passing day.

Isabel thought to herself, this is truly a terrifying situation!
