Chapter 95: Tell Me The Truth!

"Deborah left the bar with a guy and told us she would return, but when the bar closed at 2:00 in the morning, she didn’t return. We thought she and that guy knew each other so well because they were super close. They were literally flirting, touchy-feely with each other on the dance floor. They couldn’t get their hands off each other," Janice said.

"Did you see them getting into my wife’s car outside the bar?" he asked.

"No. When they left the bar we didn’t follow them outside. But we saw her car still outside the bar when we went home. I thought she would return to the bar to get her car and go home after a short rendezvous with that guy," Janice elaborated further.

"So you mean to say, my wife got into the guy’s car and left her car in the parking area of the bar?" he asked.

"I dunno...or maybe the guys had no car and they went somewhere together... maybe they checked into some hotel nearby," Janice took a wild guess. "Why? Deborah is not home yet?"

"Yes. She’s not home yet. I’m deeply worried about her. She never responded to any of my messages and didn’t answer my calls. As if she just went MIA...I can’t find her," he said anxiously, his tone laced with worry.

"Oh, this is bad...I will contact our other friends and ask them if they know of her whereabouts. I will call you if I have new information," Janice said, deeply alarmed by the turn of events.

"Thank you Janice. I will call you again if something comes up," he said.

"Please let me know right away if my friend is already home. I’m deeply worried about her. I’m scared of her sudden disappearance," Janice said in a tone filled with worry.

"OK, I will contact you if she has already arrived home," he assured her.

Their conversation ended and Alpha Maxwell fell into deep silence, trying to analyze where that guy took his wife. If they were flirting with each other and became touchy feely, they should end up in a hotel to have sex.

It’s possible that his wife fell asleep in some hotel or that she was still at that guy’s place at this moment. But if that is the case, she should have awakened already by now.

But why is she not at home yet?

Did she forget she had a son and husband waiting for her back home?

By 6:00 in the evening, Alpha Maxwell was already discussing with his family what they needed to do about Deborah’s situation after relaying to them what Janice told him.

Their mind was filled with a thousand possibilities of what could have happened to Deborah last night.

They all took turns calling and texting Deborah, but her number was unavailable.

"Son, it’s either her phone had run out of battery, was stolen, turned off, muted or destroyed already," Alpha Nelson said, his face darkened with worry.

Becca takes a deep breath. "The fact that she left the bar with the guy she just met only means one thing. Deb and that guy are doing something illegal outside of the bar. Right?" she said, scanning the faces of her family.

Grandma sighed. "I didn’t expect Deborah to do something like this. How could she spend a night with a stranger she only met in a bar? Didn’t she know the danger involved? What if that guy is a serial rapist, a killer or a human trafficker?"

After visualizing in their minds all the things that could possibly happen to Deborah, they all shuddered in fear, extremely worried about her safety.

"I expected her to answer our calls or text us to stop us from worrying and to let us know that she is safe no matter where she is right now. But even if she lost her phone she could still call us somehow. There are many ways to do that. But the dead cold silence coming from her only means one thing. That guy who she spent the night with probably has something to do with why she was not able to reply to our messages. I hope he is not harming her." Alpha Maxwell paused for a minute, dreading what his wife is experiencing right now at the hands of a stranger.

"There was news last month about women being kidnapped in other parts of the country and until now they have been still missing. Then recently there was also a serial killer on the loose, raping women, killing their victims, and throwing their bodies into an abandoned area. The current times are dangerous for women," Zian commented.

Becca was scared for her friend’s safety. "I hope Deborah was just pranking us and she will be coming home right now," she said wistfully, then sighed heavily. "Just that...I know this is not her attitude, making everyone worry to death including her family."

Alpha Maxwell could no longer stay unbothered. He needed to do something to find out what had happened to his wife. He stood up. "I’m going to the bar to retrieve Deborah’s car and bring it here. Maybe we can find some important clues hidden in her car. Then I will also check the bar’s CCTV cameras to find out the identity of the guy so we can ask him if he took Deborah to his house and what happened next," he said.

"Should we involve the police now? Shall we report her now as a missing person?" Luna Adela asked.

Alpha Nelson shook his head. "No one will leave...Deborah’s parents are coming here to discuss her sudden disappearance," he said. "I will contact my friend who is a police investigator to assist us tonight when we go to the bar to investigate," he added.

"Copy Dad." Alpha Maxwell returned to his seat. "Let’s wait for the decision of Deborah’s parents."

At the last minute, they waited for a miracle, expecting Deborah to arrive any minute but they were disappointed because she didn’t come.

While waiting for Deborah’s parents to arrive, Alpha Maxwell makes coffee in the kitchen. While drinking his coffee, he suddenly remembered Zero. Damn! Could this be one of their interventions? Are they the ones responsible for his wife’s disappearance?

He quickly finished his coffee, went to a quiet corner and sent a message to Zero.

Zero surprisingly came on line immediately.

Zero: What’s up bro? Long time no hear? How’s your life?

Alpha Maxwell: Zero, I want to ask you a very important question...

Zero: What is it? Did something come up?

Alpha Maxwell: Last night, my wife Deborah went to a bar to party with her friends. But until now she hasn’t returned yet and no matter how many times we sent her a text message and called her number she didn’t reply. As of now she is missing and can’t be contacted. Is the facility behind this incident? Are you guys responsible for her sudden disappearance? Were you instructed by your boss to get rid of my wife?

Zero: Oh sorry to hear about what happened to your wife...but the facility didn’t order me to do anything against Deborah. In fact when you guys tried to cut our communication because you don’t need me anymore, I stopped bothering you and the facility already stopped giving me orders to spy on you guys. But they instructed me to keep our communications always open just in case you needed my help.

Alpha Maxwell: Are you telling me the truth that you and the facility are not responsible for my wife’s disappearance?

Zero: Yes, I’m telling you the truth. I’m innocent. I’m willing to be struck by lightning instantly if I’m lying.

Alpha Maxwell: Alright, I believe you. Bye for now.

Zero: Take care bro. If you need assistance with anything just tell me. I’m ready to help.

Alpha Maxwell: Nah, this concerns my wife. You are out of this.

Zero: OK. Got it. I hope you find your wife soon.

Alpha Maxwell: Thanks. Bye.

Alpha Maxwell went upstairs to check on his sons.

Twenty minutes later...

Deborah’s parents finally arrived and inquired about what happened to their daughter before she went to the bar to party with her friends. Alpha Maxwell told them that Deborah wanted to divorce him because she no longer loved him.

The family was surprised by their daughter’s divorce decision because they knew that she was very much in love with her husband.

Alpha Maxwell told them they were not fighting before she left the house and partied with her friends.

Then Alpha Maxwell brought out what Janice had told him about what truly happened in the bar last night. They were shocked by the revelation.

"My daughter wouldn’t do such a thing!" Deborah’s father, Alpha Roger, denied vehemently.

"Whaaat? My daughter flirted with a guy she met in the disco bar and they left the bar together?" Deborah’s mother, Luna Mary asked apprehensively.

"But that is the truth, Dad, Mom. I was also shocked by what my wife did last night in the bar. You can talk to Janice, her friend who was with her last night at the party. I will give you her number. Or we can meet her in person," Alpha Maxwell suggested.

"I know that girl. She was close to my daughter. Give me Janice’s number, I’ll call her myself," Alpha Roger said grimly, deeply disturbed by what his daughter did.

Alpha Maxwell gave him Janice’s number.

Alpha Roger quickly called Janice and they talked with a loud speaker on, so everyone could hear their conversation.

After hearing the conversation and Janice confirming what Deborah did last night, Luna Mary broke down in front of everyone. She began sobbing hysterically. Luna Adela and Grandma did their best to console the distraught woman.

"Husband, we need to find our daughter quickly! She is not responding to our calls and text messages. Something bad has happened to her. I’m scared," Luna Mary said between sobs. "There have been several reports of kidnappings lately. I’m afraid it will be too late to save our daughter if we can’t find her fast!" she said with urgency in her tone.

"Let’s go now to the police station and report her missing since last night," Alpha Roger said and rose to his feet. "Wife, you should stay here. Alpha Maxwell and Alpha Nelson will come with me to the police station. We also retrieve our daughter’s car from the bar’s parking lot," he added.

The men left the mansion immediately and proceeded to the police station to file a missing person report.
