Carrying a Jurassic on me-Chapter 774 - 404: Hit You Every Time I See You _1
Chapter 774: Chapter 404: Hit You Every Time I See You _1
"What are you doing? What are you doing?" Seeing Yan Fei pin a young man to the table, making the man flail around like a fish out of water, a middle-aged man not far away hurried over, ready to take action against Yan Fei.
Yan Fei swiftly kicked him away: "Get out!"
The young man was stirring up trouble earlier but this middle-aged man didn’t say anything then. Now, the sight of him in distress seems to imply that they are related.
That kick sent the middle-aged man flying straight into the wall. He slid down slowly, clutching his chest, unable to speak.
Ordinary people can’t distinguish between a kick or a push, what mattered was that the man went flying. It was a scenario straight out of a movie. Who had ever seen such a thing in real life?
Hence, after the dull thud, everyone in the office froze in shock. Two of them were so startled they actually trembled. The room fell silent as if the air itself had solidified.
The young man, who had been struggling, tried to fight back after the middle-aged man got kicked out. However, Yan Fei’s grip on his neck was stronger than any steel, proving futile. Seeing the young man’s forehead veins popping, Yan Fei sternly warned, "If you keep hovering in front of me, I’ll beat you every time I see you!"
With that, Yan Fei threw the young man out the door.
The man, who weighed over a hundred catties, rolled away like a rag doll when Yan Fei carelessly tossed him out.
Seeing one man inside unable to speak due to suffering and another outside picking himself up while coughing, everyone in the room recalled what the young man said earlier: Yan Fei really was a formidable figure...
However, everyone knew that those who came to apply for permits here surely had connections. Between the formidable figure and the local snake, it was uncertain who would prevail.
Yan Fei was utterly composed. He bent down to pick up the forms that the young man had scattered and handed them to his wife, "You review them first!"
While his wife tended not to be unflappable, she had absolute faith in his ability to stir things up. She calmly picked up the forms, and together they sorted and began reading them.
The others in the room stood there, stunned. The middle-aged man inside the office who had been clutching his chest suddenly realized other than pain, there seemed to be nothing wrong, so he gathered his strength to run out. Meanwhile, the man outside who had been coughing finally collected himself and started to run back to the office.
These two men showed an uncanny level of synchronization, both reaching the door at the same time. But the man outside failed to see that there was someone rushing out from inside, just as the man inside didn’t anticipate that someone outside was about to barge in.
The collision that followed was more intense than what had previously transpired with Yan Fei. The man inside the office was running with his head down, so his forehead made a direct hit with the nose of the other man. The loud ’thud’ and the subsequent fountain of blood from the young man’s nose made a sight.
Both men were too preoccupied with dealing with their pain to argue and settled into chaotic silence.
The spectators who didn’t dare to laugh but wanted to, had no idea what to think. They kept their eyes on the young couple starting to fill the form, their faces a mix of various expressions.
Since Yan Fei and Xu Xiaoyan had come prepared to apply for the certificate, they carried all needed documents. They filled out the basic required information and submitted it.
The two who had been beaten eventually left the doorway and walked away. By their demeanor, it was clear they were not ready to let things slide. However, Yan Fei didn’t care about this, and his wife wasn’t bothered either.
When the couple came across some parts of the form they didn’t understand, they asked the aging woman behind the counter. She answered promptly, putting aside the sweater she was knitting to lean over and guide them through the form. She was so helpful it was beyond criticism.
Just as they finished filling out the forms, a group of people rushed into the office.
The first few in the group were police officers, closely followed by the feuding young-old duo. Upon entering, they pointed at Yan Fei, "It’s him!"
The leading officer didn’t immediately claim to arrest Yan Fei, instead he asked: "Are you the one who started the fight?"
Yan Fei replied confidently, "Don’t you know what that guy’s business here was? There were so many witnesses here. What’s his deal with not letting me fill the form and checking my ID? Is he one of you?"
This unsuspected audacity amused the police officer. It was quite rare to encounter such blunt disrespect. This was genuinely amusing, unlike the pretentious blustering of the young man with a tissue stuffed into his nose.
"May I look at your ID? They said you started the fight," the leading officer said. "I heard you were applying for a Hong Kong pass. What are you going there for?"
"To have fun!" Yan Fei retorted in two simple words.
Xu Xiaoyan, seeing that the officer was amiable, added, "Our company has some business there, and they have invited us for a visit."
Typically, his wife didn’t interrupt when Yan Fei was speaking. She spoke softly, yet her words carried much weight. Those words startled the officer, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
To tell the truth, those two who were beaten were definitely going to find someone they knew. This meant that they were well-acquainted with the police officer, though the extent of that relationship was unclear.
The police officer was careful too, having asked about the situation in depth prior to arriving. At this point, Hong Kong had just been returned to China, and there weren’t many people applying for a Hong Kong pass; those who did, purely for tourism purposes, were even fewer. Even for those going as tourists, they would not be ordinary people; ordinary people would not have the leisure time or money.
Upon learning that these two were going to play in Hong Kong, the police had been enforcing laws in a civilized manner. At this moment, upon hearing this, they instantly felt grateful for their courteousness, otherwise, this situation could have ended poorly.
"Oh, you have business there?" The lead officer tried to act nonchalantly and asked with a smile, "May I know what kind of business? You know, not many businesses here in our city have dealings with Hong Kong. We have a review system here, not just anyone can go, can they?"
Nowadays, it’s really not common to do business from Wan City to Hong Kong.
Yan Fei responded this time: "Our company raises cattle, and we sell the beef to Hong Kong. This time, our client over there wants to open a restaurant in Shen City and invited us to visit and have a look at her restaurant."
Yan Fei really had no choice. He is the type who prefers soft methods rather than hard ones. The police officer had been polite since he came, so it was hard for him to keep a straight face all the time.
"Hmm, beef!" This police officer hesitated for a moment, feeling like he had heard of this before. It seemed familiar!
While he was still hesitating, a young man from the side burst out, "You’re selling beef to Hong Kong? Can’t they buy their beef there, that they need to come all the way over here? You’re really blowing your own trumpet. Look at the place...hey..."
Before he finished speaking, Yan Fei kicked him out. This time it was a real kick. The man staggered back a few steps and sat down on the ground, clutching his stomach. He couldn’t even yelp, he could only gasp for breath.
That middle-aged man couldn’t help but jumped out. But instead of coming over, he quickly helped the young man up and shouted at the police, "Comrades, look at this! He dared to hit someone in front of you. Is there any morality or law left?"
This time, not only were the other people in the room shocked, but even the police officers were slightly taken aback. This guy was really audacious.
Yan had an even bigger audacity to come. Yan Fei pointed at the two of them and said: "Didn’t I tell you that I would hit you every time I see you? Did you forget?"
At last, a police officer reacted and yelled at Yan Fei, "Don’t go too far. We didn’t see you hit him just now, but we saw it this time..."
Before he could finish his words, Xu Xiaoyan interrupted him, shouting at the middle-aged man: "Justice? The Law? You feed on connections and you have the nerve to speak of the law? When the mayor came to our cattle farm, he didn’t ask us like he did. Who is he counting on? Do you think it’s his turn to be asked? I have the secretary of the city government, Secretary Wu’s phone number here. If you don’t believe me, you can call him and ask him whether the mayor bought beef from us because they can’t buy it in Hong Kong..."
Yan Fei gave a thumbs up to his wife in his heart. He had planned to say this. When else would he say it if not now?
If he really wanted to vent his anger by hitting someone, he could wait until nobody was around. Now that he was beating someone up in front of others, he wanted people to know that his beef was being sold in Hong Kong.
This process obviously takes more than a day or two. If they do not provide a reason, it will probably take forever.
When he came in, he heard someone say that the process would take fifteen working days.
It’s working days, not days. Fifteen days equate to half a month, and fifteen working days are definitely more than two weeks! As of now, they do not work six days a week, so fifteen working days means a really long wait.
Who knows what might happen at the farm by then; he might not even be able to leave.
Now if he acted more arrogantly and caused a bigger commotion, perhaps his paperwork might be processed faster!
Of course, he thought of this after beating people up for the first time. If he had thought of it earlier, then he would have won every battle with guile and cunning. Just now, he was simply too furious and didn’t think too much before hitting. After hitting, he thought he might need a talisman in case the police came.
The only person he thought he could call upon for protection and contact in the city was the secretary of the deputy mayor. Then he thought that maybe if he alarmed the mayor’s secretary, he might help expedite his permit.
As for those who were helping with the paperwork, who, as Xu Xiaoyan had said, relied on small connections, they were really not worth mentioning. Comparing them to a mayor’s secretary is an insult to the prestigious secretary.
Yan Fei didn’t think wrong. Upon hearing Xu Xiaoyan’s words, the police officers finally remembered that there indeed was a company in their city that exported beef to Hong Kong, a model that had just been publicized by the city’s TV station and newspapers. This was something that was officially reported on TV and in the newspapers, who could question it?
The leading officer attempted to mediate the situation, "Calm down, calm down, are you two from the Cow Flower Company? May I know your names?"
While speaking, he couldn’t help but think how odd the company’s name was, it was memorable. Nowadays, companies often adopt grandiose universal names, at least ones implying a wide range of financial resources. This one, however, was just named Cow Flower.
Ironically, if it weren’t for this peculiar name, he would probably not even remember it.
